this film is nothing more than a platform for an American director to tout united states propaganda. i haven't seen the film of course, but i'm sure that an American will end up saving what remains of humanity...enter the average joe character played by john cusack. there will no doubt be an "evil" secretary of state that will be fired toward the end of the film so the audience goes, yay! the USA will band together and spout crappy dialogue full of quotes from "great americans". what a load of garbage. i wish another director had taken on this film, at least then there may have been a chance that it would be good. emmerich has done independence day and day after tomorrow. both films were so utterly sophomoric. my advice is to save your money, wait a few months, and make it a blockbuster night. my fave is the cliched African American president and cabinet. this film could have been intelligent.

no, it was based off the Aztec calendar. They cheated. Each age ended in a different way. Ice was the first, etc. We go into another sun, age, whatever. You make another calendar once the four directions gather and put the world back together again. This sun ends in earthquakes.
