I had one of the buttons and it was the second Christian project I bought ever on someone's suggestion. Loved them ever since. I even hosted them at my high school.
I remember my younger bro wearing one of their tshirts back in the 80s- it said Altar Boys-I'm Into God- he is a peds neurologist now and WE love our GOD don't we???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JESUS FREAK!!!!! =0)
Yeah, This is Cornerstone Fest in Grayslake, late 80's. I have a whole VHS they put out of this classic stuff. Huuhahtaja is posting most of it. Thanks! BTW, I saw Crucified at Cornerstone for the first time in 1989. It was incredible. There were people stage-diving all over the place--with concrete floors! So in some ways it was more intense. I'm not even sure stage-diving is allowed anymore at Cstone, at least not like before. The pits may be more intense though. Our overall culture is, too.
that looks like Cornerstone when it was still held at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Grayslake IL. I was there, and it seems so tame compared to what was to come, Crucified, Living Sacrifice, Strongarm, etc.
Our band played with these guys, Undercover, Twyla Paris, the 77s, and others in Kentucky in like 85. This stuff blew me away then, and it blows me away now--them playing in a pole building. Where is this gig? Punk was passe at this time, but it was NOT passe in more conservative Christian circles. Sounds quaint--but that's the fact.
We had Mike Stand play a solo gig at our church back in the mid 90's. One word....Awesome!

I find this amazing for reasons that are beyond me. I feel like I just stumbled accross something completely bewildering.
