There were some great mixes on this LP, mixes which freshened the songs.
With this LP in mind, I've posted the video, "40 years of history in 3 minutes", which is a music video containing the Beatles' rooftop performance, historical events over the last 40 years and 8mm film antics from the period, all cut tightly to GET BACK and GLASS ONION. Hope you enjoy!
Guys, don't get me wrong, I love the ENTIRE song/remix, but I especially love how it builds up to a climax from about 3:17 and on, as it builds up to Revolution. Just. Magic.
George and Giles Martin did an awesome f'ing job with this album. The way they mixed various songs, beats, riffs, solos etc was simply amazing.
It comes off so natural. I can't listen to Mr. Kite anymore without expecting to hear the blaring She's So Heavy riffs after listening to the Love album.
Come Together segues so easily to Dear Prudence, to Can You Take Me Back with the symphonic part of Eleanor Rigby.
@BeatleBugMania22 Some trivia: the drumming at the end of the song (the crazy fills where Dear Prudence is mixed in) is Paul, not Ringo. Ringo's drumming on Come Together is understated and great though.
IF they ever put this version of the song in the Beatles Rock Band game, the second half will be the most visually stunning thing ever. (Ending in the "Dear Prudence" stage, but with the crowd from "Sgt. Pepper" dancing around. well, that's how I've pictured it)
I need to buy Love. Wow. Actually an incredibly worthwhile, understated effort.

This is great! I love how they incorporated the end of "Cry Baby Cry," which is also an awesome song.

@Burromovie can you take me back's part of cry baby cry, they just smushed them together, like happiness is a warm gun or a day in the life
ilikepie33445 1 year ago
@ilikepie33445 can you take me back was actually an unreleased take of i will.
happiness is a warm gun is made up of 3 john lennon songs: "she's not a girl who misses much", "i need a fix" and "happiness is a warm gun"
and a day in the life is another story
