Spoilers here. He was never killed by any of them. They respected him as he did them. The damned goverment interferred and told him he couldn't be around them anymore. He went to court for it, and remains innocent, until proven guilty of feeding them. It was so sad when he had to put up an electric fence around his place. You could see the hurt in his eyes. =(

@EvyTheWhiteWolf I sure would like to know where you got your information, because I have seen vids that say Charlie died of natural causes and was buried on his property, where the bears came right up to his grave and would stay long periods of time. If he'd put up a fence like you say, the bears wouldn't be able to get on his property...

@sadface0 to be fair Tim died because he stepped out of his element and into territory that was not his and the residing bear there was spooked and attacked because it had not grown accustomed to Tim's presence as the bears in this video have.

in Bear Haven, the black and grizzly bears all know him and are comfortable with his presence. I hope this guy lives long and happy.

I watched this show, it is amazing. He is doing nothing wrong. The bears choose to visit him and his property, they come and go as they please. Its not like envading their territory, it is his territory, and the bears respect him.

This guy is a danger to himself (think Timothy Treadwell) and to those bears. He has conditioned those bears to come right up to him. One day those bears will approach a stranger who might just make the bear mad when they freak out (can you say mauled to death). Or... someone will very reasonably assume the bear is attacking and shoot the bear. Bears are dangerous, wild animals; they are not pets.
