  • Trying to better understand the lyrics, was her lover at the crash? If so, did he kill her, or was he in the same car?

The second 'arms wrapped now around his wife' echoes with the first. Makes me wonder.

  • This is absolutely beautiful.

  • Writer, Poet, Philosopher, Singer, Songwriter, Arranger, Architect, Passionate, Musician, Muse, Intellectual, Visionary, Romantic, Self Actualizer, Transcendent, Beautiful Flower, Unparalleled, Unequalled, Incomparable, One who sees things and comes to realizations others do not; One among us who follows their dreams and makes them a reality. These are just of few of the words (and thoughts) that come to mind when I think of Vienna Teng. There is no one else like her and has never been.

  • This song has so much power and emotion in it that I can't listen twice. It's an amazing song.

  • Literally Im sat here in the dark crapping myself ; it sounds like something you'd hear in a horror movie. Love love love it, no fancy music, just purely her voice.

  • that was almost painful

  • damn...

  • speechless...

  • I actually had to wrap my arms around myself to make sure I was still here and still alive while I was listening to this. And tears actually formed. It's so haunting. It makes me think "What if?"

  • I don't like this song, why am I listening to it.

It's creepy, I don't like how it makes it seem like nothing matters, that the persons life did not matter. Like there is not anything more because I do!

And she played this song very well because I could feel what the song was about.

That's why it creeped me out.

  • don't cry people: she's lucky she has a warm family caring for her. :)

  • She's slightly reminds me of Emilie Autumn lol. I love it!

  • I love this song so much! It's so breathtaking. It's rare to find music so poetic. It's a shame she's not more popular. People just can't appreciate good music these days.

  • That was so depressing... It reminds me of the book The Lovely Bones.

  • @la28typeofgirl Haha like I said(:

  • @la28typeofgirl that's exactly what i thought when I first heard this song!

  • this is the most beautiful piece i have ever heard. <3

  • Her songs are more like poetry than lyrics. I'm always astounded by what comes out with next.

  • Our performance company is thinking of doing this a a group this year.. I would be the mother. We listened to this about a million times last night just thinking; hearing the words.. Her voice is really so beautiful but haunting at the same time. Which makes this song absolutely perfect. When I first heard it, it automatically reminded me of The Lovely Bones.. Which I'm reading the book right now.. Very sad =/ Anyways, enough of my rambling. This song is amazing and Veinna Teng is to <333

  • this is so hauntingly beautiful

  • So who else is bawling their eyes out? I certainly am. It's a beautiful song.

  • My dance studio had a tribute to someone who had died in a car crash and they had 4 people dance to this song and one was her one was her lover and one was mother and another was her sister....it was kind of sad.

  • this is now my favorite song..... i really feel the same...

  • Can't belive...This song is perfect ,i've cried two times.I've had an car accident, and the flashbacks keep comin back....So sad, nearly survived....:(

  • she really knows how to use her voice as an instrument! fantastic *_*

  • She should be more famous.

  • This is the most amazing song I've ever heard. The lack of instrumental accompaniment is incredible and makes this song a thousand times better.

  • i was young when i 1st heard it and i cried....but i love it soooo much now! i listen to it everyday :)

  • Classic Folk Performer!!! Close to the Sea Chanty's my Grand Father used to sing to me. Not this type of lyric, but definately the style.

Traditional folk music is somewhat waning, and thank Vienna for bringing it back!

  • simply...*sigh

  • Just amazing!!

  • this ist so unique and breath-taking, just like from another world, as the hereafter might be...

  • wow...i'm...wow

  • She opened for Marillion at a small club in Philly back in 2005. It was just her and a keyboard. Absolutely breathtaking. When she did this song we all just stood there clutching our beers for about 30 seconds afterwords. Everyone was afraid to breath.

  • wow .... i´m simply speechless

  • Ooh, this song. My grandfather was just cremated, and when I heard this I cried so hard, Thiis song is so amazing. It somewhat frightens me, though, if that makes any sense.

  • I know what you mean, I heard this song a few days before a friend was hit by a car and died. It startled me greatly when I remembered this song. It's scary yet beautiful

  • I'm so sorry. =[ But this song is just chillingly amazing.

  • @MissMarientose I had a very similar experiance. It's hard to listen to this song after..Isn't it?

  • First time I heard this, I nearly cried. This is such an intense and powerful piece... Her voice is pretty amazing.

  • ther was a dancer at my dance studio and she danced to this..it was amaazzziing!! tha make up was..jus..fantastic

i definetly got tha chills after seein that backstage

  • I get chills every time I listen to this song. She really is one of the most talented artists I have ever had the privilege of stumbling upon.

  • its about a spirit remaining after death and the events that unravel after you're gone

the way people react but she's still there her voice is her soul watching everything

  • this is quite scary...... made me spine shivered abit... but its nice

  • My Lord -- fantastic!

  • This song is really creepy... the absence of any music, just her voice like a ghost in the wind... I couldn't hear through it all, it unsettled me too much...

    But it's still beautiful!

  • At first I thought this was pretty creepy, but the more I think about it, the more comforting the lyrics become.

In the song she doesn't seem miserable or bitter, only distant. As life goes on, even her tree survives the winter.

  • This song is so haunting.

I am not sure if I love it or hate it... it's beautiful, but scares the hell out of my imagination.

It makes me think of what my family would go through if I died-- and I'd be invisibly watching them, singing this song.

    Creepy!

  • this song is sooo sad, yet beautiful at the same time.....she really gets the emotion across. Her voice is beatiful and you can also see how these things affect more then just the person who dies, it affects all those who knew them....and she is watching everyones life go n after she died

  • This song..... kind of scares me. It's good, but... kind of creepy, you know?

  • Yeah, exactly. And the last stanza makes your spine shiver.

  • unreal

  • AMAZING!!!

  • god her voice is so beautiful.

  • buy a minus one cd.....all you can hear are the echoes...XD

  • this song used to make me want to cry.

  • this is so calming and so unsettling at the same time... i love this song!!!

  • I totally agree with you! So,I can't hear the whole song...It just make me unsetting, too.HAHA~Anyway,I am Vienna Teng's super fan!

  • So is she telling us about her death?

  • yes...It is about someone's death...but I don't think it is her death..

  • ooo.. i knew it wasnt her death lol cuz she wudnt be able to write the song lol... haha but yeahh thanx

  • It is, in an interview she said she imagined all of it. I've done that before when I was younger, but I couldn't have come up with this...
