  • I just read Geoff Emerick's book.... what a non-put-downer!

  • Emerick's book is AWESOME

  • Bloody awesome.

  • Just love this stuff by the Fab Faux! It is like sitting in a recording room watching the Beatles hash out a song prior to recording. While it is 2011, watching this makes me think it is 1964 again. I am that mouse in the room or that fly on the wall watching history being made.

To The Fab Faux: I love seeing this on Youtube, but why are you doing this............is it for a DVD release or a future CD or what?

  • 5:29 how did you get that fat amazing bass sound? Please make a video about that!

  • Awesome. This really gives us an idea of how much work the Beatles went through creating those records. It's this PLUS the creativity of coming up with the sounds from scratch.

  • This is what the Beatles would sound like if they were all still alive.

  • And Your Bird Can Sing is one of my favourite Beatles songs.

    Great doco and performance

  • ...let's see some of the "critics" here even try to emulate what the Fab Faux have, so nicely, created with the help of Mr. Emerick... Great vocals... super harmonies and the playing is exquisite... Rock on Fab Faux!...

  • Awesome book!! Recommended!!

  • These guys play their instruments well,HOWEVER ALL OF THEM SHOULD STOP TRYING TO SING. There are nuances and attitudes in the originals that these guys are not even close to reproducing.I understand their love for the music.....but please leave the singing to the pro's.

  • @Dissonics - If you don't recognize their names and status as "pros", I have no idea what you listen to. But yeah, the vocals didn't sound as strong as they should be. I haven't listened to the live vids of them yet.

  • This is great stuff, Geoff Emerick also engineered Robin Trower's classic 2nd record 'Bridge of Sighs' which sounds so much better than his first album there's no comparison....

  • I'm on chapter 5 of his book right now

    very interesting stories

  • I've read his book HERE THERE AND EVERYWHERE at least 4 times.

  • EXCELLENT!!!

  • Mr Will Lee, you ARE the real deal my friend.

  • This is really great! Gives me a lot of insight! Great guys and I love seeing Emerick!

  • if you haven't read "here, there, and everywhere" by geoff emerick...YOU SHOULD!!! very insightful. i don't think emerick really got the credit he deserved which is a shame

  • I've been following these guys since they formed in 1998 There is no other Beatle band out there that comes near them. Their finally getting more exposure which I think had something to do with them doing the Stern show,it's great that alot more people are seeing and hearing them. My wife and I have had the pleasure of meeting them a few times, their all dynamite. The thing I tell people when they ask me about them, imagine sitting in Apple studios hearing The Beatles doing a master sound track

  • You have to listen to Southern California's The Fab Four then. They are the best tribute band I've ever seen. Their "Paul" is dead on in looks, actions, playing, and singing.

  • @stigmajosh

Seen them. OK, but I prefer real musicians who don't play dress up, wear wigs and speak with fake accents.

These are professional session men and the blonde guy in sunglasses has toured with McCartney, Harrison and Starr. They tend to play Letterman as opposed to cruise ships.

  • i feel obligated to mention the group Yellow Matter Custard. check 'em out on youtube.

  • @himbo707

Thanks! I just checked them out. Just like The Fab Faux, they are all about the music.

The "dress up" bands are trying to be The Beatles which detracts from the songs.

Bad Karma. Please don't do that. Just put the wigs on ebay and play their music as best you can.

  • The music sounds great but the vocals are weak compared to the original. Not really a knock on the Fab Faux, more of a compliment to the Beatles. As if they needed another one.

  • Yep, 'fraid so.

  • Nice Video. Check out TubeViews (dotnet) If you need your video exposed, It has really helped me a bunch. Be blessed!

THIS WORKS! Its amazing.. THANK YOU SO MUCH DUDE!!!!!!

  • M name is Jeff Emerick Very interesting

  • arack- are talking about the note at 6:28?

  • Here's how insanely good (and anal) Will Lee is here: at 6:28, about 2/3rds the way through the guitar solo, Will starts the descending bass line on a A sliding into a G# - which is exactly what McCartney originally did, even though most bassists would play the note as a single "A". It's an impossibly tiny bit of information about the song's bassline, and it may have been a (stoned) mistake even on Macca's part, but Will playing the fumbled/groovy note perfectly.

  • I would have no problem paying for this on DVD. Is it available?

  • Geoff Emerick is soooo damned cool. It must have been a major thrill for all them to work with him...

the Fab Faux have played around here a couple of times but I keep on missing their gigs. I'll catch 'em sometime the next time they play LA

  • I thought Rich was the drummer, not the bass player. ;-)

  • Maybe they meant "bass drum/vocals"

  • The master at work.

  • I saw them at House of Blues Atlantic City in December and noticed TWO video cameras recording the show. Also saw them interviewed on a local entertainment show on NBC and they did a few songs. They were amazing! So there's obviously more video of them. Let's see it on YouTube!

  • Fascinating to see the Faux working with Geoff Emerick.

I agree that this would make a great TV documentary.

  • This is interesting. Does anyone know if they have more footage? It seems that this would make a great PBS special.

  • Not as cute as the Beatles.

  • No matter how hard some Beatles cover bands work - you can never make everyone happy all the time. As far as I'm concerned Fab Faux is the cream of the crop!!

  • Simply excellent. You lucky, lucky...

  • Excellent!!! Way to go boys!

  • I love it!

  • Excellent video! I saw you guys in Boston, and you were much, much better than I thought you'd be (and this was after seeing you on Letterman). You guys had energy and electricity - I recommended to my fellow Beatles friends to go and see you.

  • Did they just record the one song?

  • Check out The Runaway Tanks covering "Twist and Shout" at a Katrina benefit in '05.

  • This is fantastic - Fab Faux professionally recorded And Your Bird Can Sing - with Geoff Emerick. I wonder how it will be used??? I hope it's released!!! :)

On an album with other Beatles cover bands, maybe (????) if not their own album!

    I wanna buy it ...

  • This is just amazingly awesome!! Do not miss this band if you get the opportunity.
