I just found those exact Tommy t-shirts on RedBubble :D :D I think you can get them as stickers too lol, but not mirrors to smash... I'm gonna get me one... Apparently they don't take cheques.. I tried to give them one and they said "We're not gonna take it..." Sorry for the bad joke...
I have on ebay an item that maybe of interest to all you Who fans, it is a film prop that was actually used in the film Tommy it's a placard that was used in the Tommy's holiday camp scene I doubt that there are many of these left in existence and they were not available to buy. The auction ends 16 Nov, 201018:52:23 GMT.
A great movie clip starring a rock'n'roll legend , if anybody is interested I have one of the placards that are in this movie clip for sale. It was actually used in this very scene by a friend of mine who was an extra in the movie when they were filming near Portsmouth . To view the item I am talking about go onto ebay and type in PROP PLACARD FROM TOMMY'S HOLIDAY CAMP - THE WHO-TOMMY
The music is being played on a theater pipe organ which was originally designed to replace an orchestra in the early days of the silent movie era. They were quite loud and impressive! Most are gone now and they're extremely rare! If you ever get the chance to hear one in person, don't hesitate!
Most of 'Tommy' was filmed in the Portsmouth area , that really is Southsea's Royal Pier burning down in one sequence in the movie , some film lighting gear set it on fire (miraculously one camera remained outside to record this !!!!!) Pinball Wizard was filmed in the Royal Theatre Portsmouth, but it remains one of my favourite 'Rock Opera' movies and Theatre Pieces.
I don't know if anyone else has noticed, although the song and scene is called Tommy's Holiday Camp. The green letters above the entrance actually says TOMMY HOLIDAY CAMP, no apostrophe or S.
I've always thought Keith Moon sitting on the organ like that must have taken some guts. It's quite high, rather precarious, and it's a moving vehicle.
It certainly is one of the best parts of the movie.
Quite funny how the organ pops up a price, like a giant cash register.
its because thats what the song is about. Ernie and the Lover (in the original just Ernie) are exploiting Tommy's followers to buy memorabilia, taking advantage of their starstruck behavior.
Can someone confirm that the location for this scene is near the Royal Armouries on Portdown Hill overlooking Porsmouth as I was travelling through the area earlier this week and had a dejavu moment when I passed a fort-like structure with gateways similar to what Keith drives his wurlitzer into and "Ah Tommy? Surely Not!" Thanks.
Well spotted. It is the entrance to the Royal Armouries Museum 'Fort Nelson', on Portsdown Hill Road. I was there myself a few years ago, and thought this is Tommy's Holiday Camp!
Say what you want about uncle Ernie, but you have to admit.....he can clean up!!

I love Keith Moon.
Always have, always will.
-.- So sad about his death. It really made me mad. But, that was WAY before my birthdate..

My reaction now is the same when I first saw this as a kid:
I WANNA ORGAN LIKE THAT ONE!

I think the organist was Gerald Shaw playing the Odeon Leicester Square cinema organ. I'd forgotten about that awful music edit 10 seconds in
