hey man nice video. I just finished making a motion comic last night. If you're at all interested my video "Joker's Asylum Harley Quinn" has instructions on how to get to it.
I loved your motion comic video. I like you have been a comicbook collector for about 50 years. been a comicbook dealer for about 25 years, plus I been a mobile IT consultant for 10 years. So I seen a lot of change especially in the comic market. I for one looked at the recent changes the comics industry and see this motion comics as a way to get more readers.
Great video. Smartly done, and very insightful. I had the same thoughts as I witness my teenage boys lack of interest in reading comic, but I know they like to read. It's just the traditional comic books will not be treasure by them as it was my generation. So it goes.
Please check out my Dragonfly Flipz books videos, here on youtube. I combine the comic book and flip book into a innovation storytelling format. Let me know what you think. Thanks, again for the interesting video.
Motion comics remind me of the 1966 Marvel Superheroes "cartoon" (When Captain America throws his mighty shield... etc). My son absolutely reads a lot on the Internet and his vocabulary shows it. I do feel sad to see comics having largely gone by the wayside since I was a kid. I used to be so immersed in them and I think they informed more than my reading ability (interest in art, crazy ethical beliefs, etc). Motion comics are okay, but I don't see the point of including the text at all
Motion comics are essentially limited animation cartoons. Looking at clips from the Watchmen motion comic, I feel like the text just takes you out of it and looks artificial floating around in moving scenes with depth cues. Particularly when they're reading everything to you anyway... they could have just done some mouth movements so we know who's speaking. They certainly went all out on other forms of motion and depth in the comic. The still faces while characters speak are kind of eerie
I agree with you on all counts. As a father of two boys and a comic book artist from the 80's I see my kids watching anime on line and reading manga at home. The times they are a changing. Nice video, I like it.
Comics now a days are made for mature readers not kids....fail!

A little too dramatic at some points lol, but I understand you're issues with this medium, as well as the benefits your wife mentioned
