I saw them at the Ritz, NYC, in about 1992. Best show ever at the time. Wish they had also played Sunsplash that year, as the USA was clearly headed down, down the destitute path of ghetto (c)rap.
Yo! to the guy who remarked about Americans not having cuture......not ALL Americans are without culture, just the ones that haven't been exposed to it. But, some of us have more roots culture than you have in your pinky finger. So, don't be as ignorant as the one you are criticizing, it makes you the same. And besides our people voted for a Black President!
hey Zoul i just saw your response....i'm rolling on the floor belly buss...
it just plays into the worldwide notion that americans are not only culturally insensitive but devoid of any appreciation of it..
no wonder its leaders "think" they can simply go to any country and indoctrinate them because it is divine to be ruled by the good ole u s of a.....lol
sorry but i think you have the date wrong; 1957 is when my dad was born and they werent around then, probably around 1978. (no this isnt BS; my great uncle played guitar in aswad in around that time when that was released, so please dont boo this or anything) but he was definately on it. now back to the real issue; im glad to know my family has such a great band having run in it =D =D =D =D =D
I remember i was at a party and this came on and people were dancing and bobbin their heads...good times, even though no one was african haha...we can still appreciate good thoughtful music
** Brinsley Forde ** was ** Aswad **

Is this the same aswad that made really poppy "raggae" in the 90's? If so its a true shame. I mean how could anyone go from this, to that.
