I saw them putting them on at practice at Brookside and my brother helped my cousins Mario Miguel a Bi Valenca put them on. Will have to ask them and let you know. A battery was at their waist and hooked up when they mounted.
The initial training by Joao Oliveira on these very young horses and their subsequent preparation for this performance by B Luenza is beyond anything else we saw in the dressage competition at the World Cup - this says so much about CLASSICAL training and of course the mastery of Joao Oliveira, a contemporary master of DRESSAGE art and sport. This video is a gift for all who saw it or missed it. It's a heart throb!
Bi Valenca of Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal. Joao's cousin, may he RIP. He passed on, sadly, shortly after this show. Mario Miguel, my cousin also performed in this show of lights with her.
I did have some up but youtube took them down for copyright issues. Apparently people were not allowed to post videos from the rides at world cup las vegas : (
Hi, I think I received this by mistake. I fortunately was there however and feel I was in the presence of high art and mastery. Joao will be terribly missed. His standards of excellence should be upheld and carried on...
I was there too and I am so glad somebody taped it!!! My camera died before the half-time...That was seriously the coolest thing I have ever seen!! *faves*
I WAS THERE i loved it! and i think you were sitting by me, but anyway thank you so much for posting this! i would have recorded but they made me get rid of my video camera. how'd you record it? the flash photography gave it a cool strope effect, even though it would have been better w/out it.
oooh sneaky. the only videos i have are from showjumping on sunday with my crappy video/camera phone. haha please post the pictures from world cup so I can see them!
Thanks for your tape of Brookside Lusitanos. We were unable to get any footage ourselves. We worked very hard on this and we are happy that people enjoyed it.
That was a truly a magical moment! Thanks for sharing and reminding us of the light within the horse. KduP
