My girlfriend gave me this book for Christmas knowing I'm a recovering addict. It's amazing and has gotten me writing again. I remember keeping a journal just like that in the past.
nikki sixx is an amazing person. hes died 2 times! hes clean now. the book and soundtrack are extremely powerful. they show people that drugs can truly ruin lives. it has taught me so much. live was going down the drain for these people, and they turned it around. a complete 360. so, honor nikki sixx and know that whatever happens, at least your not dead yet. life is beautiful.

i think the final section of this book is most important - years later after the struggle showing it hasnt all been in vein for him - or anyone else for that matter.
its much more important to be inspired by the life and creativity that remains after all the darkness rather than being daft and using this book as an excuse to go get wasted.

I coulden't believe how much I related to Nikki's story other then being a rock star that is. From his past growing up, his hatered twords his dad and his drug use was so similar to my story I just couldent put the book down for that reason and many more..
It's very good, but very intense. Be careful; if you start it thinking you're in for a joyful microcosm of the Dirt or some "Behind the Music" special, you're going to have your heart broken. It's a very dark and desperate view of addiction, social withdrawl, and Nikki's very difficult struggle to break free from both.
I just finished reading the book....I couldn't put it down...read it in a matter of hours...It's amazing,and Nikki is amazing for making through to be able to tell his story.

He's really lucky to be living and his new band is AMAZING and I love 'em.
I have no clue to Nikki/Motley Crue's relevance to rock legends like Hendrix. I am no musician. Slash, the same. From what I understand, Paul Kossoff was a heroin addict, but unfortunately he died and that was before "multimedia" I think. Seriously, I'm glad Slash and Nik survived to tell the tale. But being a rock musician (as Hendrix, Koss, Tommy Bolin, Janis), I guess, to fans it gets to be a bit much with these more recent people.

The book is just wow. My friend said "dude you shouldn't read about that shit youll wanna do heroin." nothing could be further from the truth, it shows people the effects of drugs like cocaine and heroin.
I grew up in the time they were big. THEY WERE THE SHIT!!! but after reading the book, I had no idea Nikki was going through all that(i can identify with him now though, believe it or not!!!) What a strong person he is. I'm glad he is clean and sober.
I just got done reading this book today, and it is one of the most amazing books i have ever read. It kind of smacked some reality into me and it probably will do the same thing to the people who pick it up.
Halfway through the book and definitely one of the best reads i've come across. How Nikki manages to be lucid and articulate in his writing during the height of his addiction is beyond me.

The Heroin Diaries was incredible. It was such an experience, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The art, the style of writing, the commentary, the conflict within the commentary... it's all so involved in and of itself, and it's so easy to relate to the raw emotion and reality. All and all, it was amazing, and one of the best books I have ever buried my nose (and wholeheartedly the rest of myself) in.

Sounds like "Beyondhelp" is jealous of Nikki's uncanny ability to buy all the drugs you wish you had. the book is SO GOOD. Very dark(be prepared!), but is addiction lighthearted? A REALLY good read if u r a Sixx fan.

The book is just wow. My friend said "dude you shouldn't read about that shit youll wanna do heroin." nothing could be further from the truth, it shows people the effects of drugs like cocaine and heroin.

I grew up in the time they were big. THEY WERE THE SHIT!!! but after reading the book, I had no idea Nikki was going through all that(i can identify with him now though, believe it or not!!!) What a strong person he is. I'm glad he is clean and sober.

I just got done reading this book today, and it is one of the most amazing books i have ever read. It kind of smacked some reality into me and it probably will do the same thing to the people who pick it up.

Halfway through the book and definitely one of the best reads i've come across. How Nikki manages to be lucid and articulate in his writing during the height of his addiction is beyond me.

I have to disagree..I dont get whats hard to belive about him keeping a journal especaly considering he wrote music during his using! I kept a journal during my days of using it was the one thing that i had by my side with me at all times was my journal. I wrote in my journal to try to make sence of the crap of my life at that point in my life i shure the hell didnt trust talking to people.

The Heroin Diaries was incredible. It was such an experience, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The art, the style of writing, the commentary, the conflict within the commentary... it's all so involved in and of itself, and it's so easy to relate to the raw emotion and reality. All and all, it was amazing, and one of the best books I have ever buried my nose (and wholeheartedly the rest of myself) in.

i bought The Heroin Diaries two days ago and i am fucking hooked on it. it really does show you the dark side of nikki and what hell he went through. im fucking proud of him for going clean and being brave enough to publish this book and admit the bad and wrong he did. and for that people can truly forgive him! I LOVE YOU NIKKI SIXX!!

I got the herion diaries. I absolutely fucking love it. I don't care what everyone else is saying, I fucking adore the guy for quiting his habits. I love the way he discribes things and I understand him in some ways. You really have to be strong to do something like that. And I bet everyone who's bitching never had the guts to do something like that.

Sounds like "Beyondhelp" is jealous of Nikki's uncanny ability to buy all the drugs you wish you had. The difference is that he came back from what is most definitely beyond help to try and reverse that process for others. Read the book, realize how much he hated the life he was "boasting" about, then proceed to go to hell.

Great Album!! I think James Michael sings with a lot of passion and is perfect for this type of band.......... It's nice to hear that the music still matters. Sort of reminds me of some LP (Lynch Pilson formerlly from Dokken) material. GO NIKKI!!!

I first read the book, and it was great to read. It gives an insight about the affects of drugs on life..
and then I listend to the soundtrack, its great.
Life is beautifull is a creepy song: swear on your life that no one will cry at my funeral.
