  • I've got a white flag, is that what the RM were looking for ! Don't worry it's over here ! If the going gets tough ! Have you misplace the one's from the Falklands and Iraq ???? A bit careless !!!!!

  • I genuinely cannot wait to become a part of the royal marines

  • If canada only had royal marines

  • Women can go to the Frontline, just not in a combat role, for example a woman can be a medic, (in fact a female navy medic called Kate Nesbitt has been awarded the Military Cross for bravery in action) or a bomb disposal officer.

  • Any Former / Marines here ?

  • Jackabollot are you a marine then? Cleverdick!

  • STOP REFERRING TO THE 'ROYAL MARINES COMMANDO' AS the army!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No offence to the RM but if its how you think and how you mind works that you want to make brilliant in a marine, you not going to get him from this advert because shurley the man with such a mind will not be tempted by such an advert with such little temptation. The Strength in his head will say "NO, YOU COULD GET KILLED, your much more sensible than that" and he would move on.

  • @RegimentalBlackGuard

First of all, shurly is spelt surly and the strength of mind that they are talking about is the strength to keep driving it forward even past the point its not ment to go! And the healthy human mind dosent wake up, forces or not, thinking its gonna die!

  • @MultiAirGunner surly is actually spelt surely.

  • @MultiAirGunner Non the less, a strong n healthy human mind would avoid death and by that not be a Marine

  • All of the people talking about women on the front line, I'd like to know how many of you have served on the front line? Do that, then your opinion might count for something.

  • This video just screams "PROOOOOOOOPAAAAAAGAAAAANDAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!"

  • @CurtisWhoPlaysGames Recruiment videos tend to be propoganda. Duh.

  • its weird though, most of the females who complain about it being sexist most likely wouldn't want to sign up themselves anyway, its just another "sexist" thing to complain about

  • The truth about this "sexist" thing you are all arguing about is this. 99.99 % of women are not physically capable of going through the 32 weeks of intense training. Its quite simple.

Its not sexist its just a fact. Women do not have the same physical capabilities as men. When you are a marine you need to be the elite of the elite, women just don't have the strength.

  • Women aren't currently allowed to fight on the frontline because there hasn't been any discussion about it changing as of late. Women WILL eventually be permitted to fight on the front line though. All the talk about women not being fit enough is rubbish, because they can be, I think it's because primarily there used to be a concern for the integrity of soldiers' morale, and what his focus should be on the battlefield.

  • Apparently women can't join because they are more emotional when it comes to killing? dunno if it's true though.

  • Marines often have to "yomp" with up to 50kg on their backs for extended periods of time. Women are naturally lighter and smaller built than men (with some exceptions of course), for them 50kg will be practically their own body weight.

It's not a case of women not being fit enough, it's because they aren't built for it and the few who could get through training wouldn't warrant the huge effort required to integrate them into the system.

  • Women cant go frontline.

    its not sexest!

If a women falls in the middle of enemy fire a mans instinct to help her. The man is then putting himself at risk.

  • @JACKABLOTT Plus the risk of her being captured and raped in addition to the usual capture risks, the less muscle tone, and GENERALLY more effeminate attitude.

  • @JACKABLOTT ots a morale man...can fuck when not in combat yam yam

  • @JACKABLOTT It should be his instinct to help a male if someone was in that situation, the Royal Marines is a brotherhood.

  • @666xXxSLAYERxXx666 wether it should be a male instinct to do that or not, doesnt matter, @JACKABLOTT doesnt choose whats instinctive or not, it just is how it is so stop hatin

  • @BunkerBoards I'm not hating anyone? Stop stiring freak

  • @666xXxSLAYERxXx666

not in the same way though. we're biologically wired to want to protect women for reproductive reasons (even if you're not planning on knocking her up). its not about chivalry or being close to them or anything, its just animal instinct.

  • @JACKABLOTT also its because noone wants to here about a woman coming back in a body bag, that's not an anti-army comment but the words of an ex-SAS corporal namely my father

  • @JACKABLOTT but so would other men they could fall in the middle of enemy fire it's not about Gender

  • @JACKABLOTT

You mean that in a men's army, if a soldier falls, his mates have no inclination to help him? Nice to know.

I say, set the bar for what the soldier needs to be able to do and be, then who ever makes it is in, man, women, gay or not.

  • @JACKABLOTT

That's true but isn't the reason women aren't allowed on the Front Line. It's for hygiene reasons.

  • @JACKABLOTT No. A woman would be a good weapon. all you need to do is say to her 'You see that enemy? He said you look fat in that uniform.' A true Weapon Of Mass Destruction.

  • @JACKABLOTT Women are stupid, they're supposed to remain in the kitchen.

  • @JACKABLOTT The public is not ready to here about women getting killed. And not to be sexist but you can't expect a women to carry a 175lbs man plus all his equipment on their shoulders out of the fight. If they go they will be treated at the same level as the men. And honestly i don't think they could handle that.

  • @Freepepsi42 Fair point, but do you not think that its wrong to generalise? If a woman wants to go to the front line, has passed her training, can carry a 175lbs man and all his gear, why stop her. The gender of the individual shouldn't be a factor on whether they go to the front line, if there fit enough and willing to do the job, male or female send tem.

  • @TheCulandSash true, times are changing and i think that rule is with the US forces, but they are carring close to 100lbs in gear if they could carry that much plus a mans weight 175-200lbs. If they could do that sure but what can you do it's not really sexism it's more genetics.

  • no, wommen cant join the marines beause they are not allowed to go to the frontline, its not because they are not fit enough, there was a womman who passed SAS selection but she was jus having a go on some TV documentary

  • she passed her all arms course...not SAS training. im in the army, and im a medic....so im technically frontline, has nothing to do with that.

  • haha..... Do you actually think that she went through the full SF selection? on tele?!?!?!

  • no but she went through the toughest challenges in SAS selection, she was one of the fittest wommen in england

  • Hah, black haired guy at 31 secs was in my training team, never once did he smile lol. Proper hard ass I tell thee!

  • @Seany06 Think he was one of the Corporals on my PRMC. First marine I met. And he was just all like "I don't like you, I don't know you, I'm not your mate, your oppo, your guardian angel. I don't care about you. We don't actually need you. Understood?"

I replied like a little girl.

  • its not the royal marines that make that decision. it's the MoD that do

  • yeh i know that.....hence why woman cant be submariners and frontline.

  • yeah i know you know that lol! i was saying it to djforlife0

  • yeh they just get there dagger, there was one he trained with 29.

  • 16 honey, with your parents consent

  • kinda die doing something for my country if you know what i mean. Yes i now woman arent as capable body strength wise.but technically we are all the same.woman can train just as well as men then why not. we would do a bettr job :P thanks anyway guys, a debate on heres not going to get me my green berret. Everytime i see a rm advert i cant help but wonder....its my dads fault for bringing me up within the marines and condor lol

  • i didnt mean to start a debate. im ex military, was in the army before i had my son. Its the same with woman on frontline. I would have loved to give my life in frontline........

  • i like to back ground music :p

  • well the reason is kirstylouise2k7 is your rite alot of women have the fitness etc. but when your out on patrol etc. the lads could get by tracked by having some lass yomping in front lol. and there is alot of hand to hand combat. therefore it would be kind of hard because a royal marine or raf reg etc culdnt use any force on them. or if the case came to it and u where in a position doing hand to hand combat with jerry over there its more then luckly the guy wuld win.

  • thats rubbish, one of the main reasons for no women in british infantry is because they are not as fit as men in terms of muscular and skeletal strength, cardio vascular fitness or mental aggression/determination compared with the mental determination/aggression of men. if you want proof of why the MOD have this evidence and adopt these views i have it.

  • I understand that, but alot of woman would make better marines than half of the guys the mod have.when i was in the army we got treated with a little more respect ect than the guys but when we asked to be treated the same i.e same weights on tab ect as the guys they couldnt deny us it.there has been one woman whom made marine,so why cant there be more.dont get me wrong im not arguing, but thats what i would love to do with my life.x

  • i think woman should be allowed to join the corps....its bloody unfair

  • well to be honest its for a good reason. im not being sexist or anything

  • i know the reasons , one of which being that if a woman was to be shot the whole company would run to her aid....ect ect....i just think its unfair....its the sam as woman being submarinars....sucks

  • who told you that? i've never heard that one before.

  • army told me that. what reasons do you know of? x

  • well: (hope i dnt sound sexist because im not trying to be lol)

    1. female are not as physically strong as men in terms of muscles

    2. the female skeletal and muscular structure/system is not strong enough for the physical rigors faced by an ifantry soldier.

    3. MOD say its for "combat effectiveness"

this is not me speaking, i found all this out on a tv programme. however the MOD review it every year but never change their decision. x

  • you can join the army, n the navy n if you want to be close to soem marines join the navy :p but to be honest if i make it into the marines and a women was to be shot id run to her aid too... and im the kinda person who says you shudnt hit women what ever the case

  • Anyone stupid enough to make that comment doesn't deserve to have the protection and safety afforded them by the actions and selflessness of individuals such as those who become Her Majesty's own Royal Marine Commandos!!!

  • Well I do have a degree in Chemical Engineering so I think far from braindead... And you poorly articulated argument is not one expected from a so called author... I suppose there is a reason you remain unpublished. But whilst there is a huge and proud history to show that the Royal Marines have protected Great Britain, one can also state/argue that just their shear presence is a form of protection. I will not bother to reply to any further comments of yours

  • lol
