I'm super happy he said deal at 252 000 bucks. That was the PERFECT moment to get out of it. Plain and simple. I don't give a fuck about what was in his case, in the end, He came for a hummer, possibly money for his kids to get to college which is awfully expensive. He played a good game and had sometimes good sometimes bad influences from family. In the end he made the RIGHT choice to ME and I'm super happy for this daddy and his family.
He listened to his parents and heart and was RIGHT.
I would go on to the end even if I would walk out with a penny. I would gladlly hold up a penny and scream I WON! So yah I would always go to the end no matter what the ods.
why is American always copy British tv show and then throw in a loads of cash to make it shit. I suppose its not that bad watching lots of American woman with fake big boobs.
This is the best version of the show. I agree that America sucks and should stop stealing shows like Iron Chef from Japan but this is actually the best version of DoND.
Looking back now that the primetime show has been canceled, Michael Wallace would have been the original record holder before Michele Falco held the record that following autumn in 2006.
I would have took the $252k if I were in his situation, with loved ones telling me to take the deal, despite the wife telling him to go on (and she was correct in every part in the game!) His number in mind (looking at the interview) was $250k, so there wasn't really any chance he wouldn't have taken it, with his situation.
For a second it almost looked like he was going to faint when Howie told him the offer :P!
Anyone notice every game when a contestant takes a deal that the offers are ridiculously higher than they should? with $50k and $750k left that averages to $400k, the banker 'would' have offered $440k. Usually the banker keeps a little bit for himself, and usually the offer is less than half of what the amounts remaining average out, so it would have really been between $360k or $375k, to be fair.
DOND is entirely chance, statistically he made the right choice i've see people lose the chance to win a lot of money on the show and frankly i would have done the same. it's very easy to watch this and say you'd have carried on. but in that situation you would have agonised over it as i'm sure he did, but he still won a lot of money
What I really don't like is the fact that the bench that wanted him to take the Hummer deal thinks it's "wise" for Michael to take 252K. That may be true, but coming from people who clearly aren't wise themselves, that kind of suggests for him to play again.
BULL SHIT THE BANK WOULD'VE OFFERED 440000 - DO THE MATH!

@ClankyRochet
They didn't copy the British, they copied the Dutch. The British copied the Dutch too. Maybe you should do a little research before you speak.

I would definitely go all the way if the LEAST amount of money on my board was $50,000!! Even his wife was telling him, "Let's go for it!!".
