The initial jump can be made by anyone by using the standard walljumping technique of pressing forward and jump at the same time, with forward coming ever so slightly before the jump. Made it here on my Nelf Priest. Right after this, if you jump over toward Wetlands, there's a waterfall, which you apparently fall "under Azeroth" (according to the person I was with). We never did because we died. Can anyone link me to a video that shows that, so I can be sure I'm not mistaken?

Nice way if you dont have access to a mage. If you do then its MUCH easier and faster to stand at the graveyard outside IF gate, get feathered and jump over to the snowy slope then climb up and head east til you get to the airfield. Takes about 30secs on a mount :) You can also get into Old Ironforge this way by standing on the IF gate and blinking into the scenery then feathering down.

The airport is there for eye-candy when you're flying over it (such as on a gryphon to Menethil, for example). Lots of these exist in the game. Another example is the red drake near Searing Gorge that you pass over on a flight path.

Me and my friend found a lot easier way to the top, starting a bit north of Misty Pine Refuge, from the tip of the lake in Dun Morogh, you'll figure the route out when you reach the place. Minimal walljumping, no mount/slowfall etc. required.

Actually yes you can. There is a blue post about it, regarding hidden areas such as Old Ironforge, Airport, Shatterspear Tribe, etc etc. To paraphrase, the blue post went something like, "Keep in mind that these areas can contain unfinished content, and are not meant for general use by players (at least not yet) As these areas are unfinished, terrain glitches could detain or even harm your character. The rule of thumb is if you have to ask if you're allowed there, you probably aren't."
