Reykjavik has the charm of a small place, and its architecture is really picturesque. Anyway, the city is obviously not perfect and there are also negative points that are worth mentioning.
The weather is extremely unpleasant, those everlasting chilly winds could really drive you mad. Staple commodities are overpriced, and the outskirts of the city are rather bleak and dismal. In my opinion Reykjavik is great for a brief visit, but not for a long-term stay.
Interesting and strange point of view. For me the point of travelling is to have new experiences.... and you would have to agree that Iceland is pretty much the opposite of Australia. That is, if you have travelled at all yourself.
I did really enjoy myself in Iceland. From my outsider's eyes it was a very interesting and beautiful country... I hope that you also see it like that one day.
I was only there for a few days. I went over there for the Sugarcubes reunion concert and to be a tourist! I'd heard about Iceland over the years from different sources, and everyone who I spoke to who had been said that it was amazing... and they weren't wrong!
lol, the one with the "s" sound in Esja is correct, if you skip the s sound, then it sounds like eja, which sounds like the word eyja,, and that means "island" lol.. but very cool video :) and good pronouncation on icelandic words :) although the i in reykjavik is like ee in deed.. yeah, i know hard to pronounce, but is this in Laugarnes? :)

All the country's in the world and you chose this rock??
Weird. I know Iceland is allot about tourism but i really don't see why.
Basically i think the only good tagline for an Iceland tourist ad is:
"saw the movie 30 days of night? Want to do that for real? Than come to Iceland around December and February"

I have traveled but never to Australia though.
Guess if you don't live here than maybe this country may seem interesting.

I think that is a big problem for people all over the world, we don't realise what we have and take it for granted. We don't miss it until it's gone.

Hehe thanks... I tried my best, but I have to admit that Scandinavian languages baffle me a bit!
