  • the only thing i disagree with is: one should NOT use a plastic pot. a clay pot with holes on the bottom and the sides is best. if you use a plastic pot, it will probably rot.

  • I would leave any roots coming out of the container alone.

After a plant has bloomed is the best time to repot it, but they do like to be very crowded, even when you repot.

  • What do I do? A few of my roots shoot straight out of the container, about 7 inches. And a few roots that touches the bark have tiny little white roots on them.

  • what will happen to the stalks if you do not cut them??

  • @SuperKayraz

It is possible that they might throw a new spike off of the old stem, even when you don’t cut them, but most often they will turn brown, and then woody and dry up. -Sue

  • Thank you! Great, useful content. I agree that including "Re-potting" in the title would be helpful.

  • Wow, really helpful!

  • Great video; thanks, Sue! Lots of useful details I've not seen in other videos on YouTube. You might want to change the title to "Re-potting a Phalaenopsis", as this is the primary content. You have another video that goes more into general care of a Phalaenopsis, a very good one too!
