  • Fucking Ed Ma with his Demon set ups lol.

  • i wish i can play like this...gotta love that ending go c. viper!! XD

  • ROFLdemon FTW!!!!

  • That ex-tatsu into Ultra was balls ridiculous!

  • i play advanced smash melee and brawl, but i've looked at a couple of street fighter two and 4 videos. man these guys are good, i want this game. it seems so technical and fun, like melee.

  • everytime I see this I feel so bad for EdMa.

  • love viper, and i love the fact that as good as combofiend and even uryo/dashio etc are, you still get to watch them screw up her execution, feints coming out as ex, no burning kicks etc

  • Pretty rare you get to see akuma's ult in pro play

  • @deepfriedchocobo lol if you aren't watching videos of Tokido.

  • Combofiend said something that stuck with him was the quote "your always ahead" and that shows here even though hes down like 70 to 5 he comes back after an epic comeback and wins. GG combo

  • amazing game

  • 2:30 was intense. so was the comeback

  • 3:35 IN THE NUTS !! hahahaha

  • love how rufus got hadoken right in the nutsack!

  • Man, even Rufus fans were cheering for C. Viper after that comeback.

  • 0:46 punch in the butt! lmao

  • that was his balls dude

  • word on the street is shotos love a good fist up the ass..

  • what a fucking comeback. Combofiend FTW

  • lol choke

  • All hail the ComboViper !

  • Here are the results for Street Fighter IV at EVOLUTION 2009. Street Fighter IV 1) Daigo Umehara (Ryu) 2) Justin Wong (Rufus, Balrog, Abel) 3) Ed Ma (Akuma) 4) Sanford Santhrax Kelly (Akuma) 5) Long ShadyK Tran (Akuma) 5) Eduardo Vvv scrub Perez-frangie (Balrog, E.Honda) 7) Takashi Dan from Japan Hukushi (Ryu) 7) Ricky Ortiz (Rufus) 3rd, 4th, and 5th place (out of the 1000+ that competed) were all Akumas. Ed Ma placed higher than anyone in this match video with Akuma.
  • lol, no sagat in the top 7? Didnt see that coming. But nice video, 2:28 was too awesome, and that come back at the end was far too fresh.

  • for pros sagat is still hard for exampl uryo loss badly to one sagat cuz he mad a small mistake.

  • Yeah he is hard to use but dangerous if you can master him. Ed Ma came in 3rd place at EVO with him.

  • lol at guys claiming they've picked up Akuma over Cammy and all their online loses have vanished over-night.

As if G2 competition is really the calibur where Cammy's potential expires and her shortcomings are getting her shut down.

    Get outta here.

  • my god that was incredible...

  • *head explodes* COMBOFIEND IS DA MAN!!! This or Mike Ross's massive comeback? so hard to pick.

  • ofcourse mike ross's massive comeback... this doesn't even compete!

  • Those was some skillful matches; keep up the great work!

  • This shit is awesome

  • niiiice

  • great stuff!

  • this is how street fighter 4 should be played

  • i don't even play or own sf4, heck i don't even like it (dunno why i watched this), but it doesn't take a genius to see (and know from their status in this and other games) that this is extremely high level play. i would guess the best japanese guys would be a cut above, but these guys are better than 99.99% of players in the world (and probably 100% of online players)

  • @meatflowers thank god you understand lol!!

  • what do you mean, not everyone can play at pro level.

  • LOL

  • Aaaaaahahahaha please tell me more, scrub

  • Back up your shit loser, guarantee you are a whiny ass kid.

  • ed ma needs to bust out ken.

also goes for his devastation 09 performance.

  • Trash Ryu.

  • why isnt valle playing dictator?

  • bc theres more Ultra applications with Ryu than with Dictator.

  • lol dont even dude... you would get raped so hard... wouldnt be able to look at your parents in the eye after such a raping

  • dream on kiddo, dream on.

  • Oooh look at you, another kid without friends!

  • Pfft you think that youtube friends are important? Moron.

  • 7:51 M.Kick Sweet was the killer. While it may look random it was a clean set up.

  • wow awesome save by ed ma at 2:30. then to turn it around with an ultra. very quick thinking

  • wow great ending.

  • Nice fight

  • "SO FUCKING DOPE!!!"

  • Oh man, sick play from ComboFiend.

    Can't believe that comeback victory.

  • rly loved the first match.

  • ComboFiend killed that final match

  • is there one more sbo quali?hope so,ed ma could quali there

  • I thought Ed deserved the win- not that Valle didn't play great but I think he got a little bit lucky with the jump-ins a few times (his own and with Ed's)... here's hoping he gets through next time!

  • You're fucking retarded buddy. See ya at Evo then punk

  • Comment removed

  • Ken-I shoulda used his Sextaro name, then the team name coulda be Sex Ed

  • lulz

  • This video really makes me want to play...too bad I'm working at the moment.

Of course, online is a completely different game. The top two moves are down-back and turbo jab.

  • roflcopter !!! lmao !!!!

fuking thank you, im glad im not the only one who sees and believes this

sometimes they just hold downback and play a staring contest with you, its so gay

  • Don't forget about random shoryukens and wakeup ultras.

  • 3:59 HUGE ERROR by Valle.

Why do the hurricane kick? If guy crotches you are done.

  • i think he was trying to ex hurricane to chip for the win. prolly messed up somehow.... only explanation i can think of

  • He said he didn't mean to do that move during the fight

  • if he crotches o rly!?

  • wow these where all really good rounds. i though rufus had it in the last. props to the c viper player.

  • Wow, idiots @ 5:20. USA characters ... so?

  • no... USA players are going to SBO.

  • wait do you mean no usa player will be at sbo or that no there are going to be usa players there?

  • artanis, they were rooting for Combofiend, who is a USA player...

  • Ryu ending first round, match 1 - CROTCH PUNCH!!!

  • RoktheReaper, r u serious u went from G2-E to G1-B in two days??? G2-E started out at 2,000 bp and G1-B started out at 50,000 bp. That means you gained around 48,000 bp in two days? LOL

  • 2:28

    Wow... this was awesome.

  • Sounds fun to me, see you there.

  • RoKtheReaper isn't good enough at SFIV to constitute his opinion holding any value. If he believes spamming with high tier characters like Sagat (or playing keep away in general) is the ultimate strategy in SFIV, why haven't I seen him win any tournaments? He should be pretty big right now if his statements had any worth.

  • JingoJoe, I wupped your DK in Smash Bros. And you still talkin' that Non sense? Really?

And I haven't bothered going to any since I don't like the game, the same way I stopped going to Brawlfests simply cause I like brawl, even though I'm more than likely one of the Top Brawlers in Dallas (Ask Melee1).

The fact of the matter is, I prefer Third Strike to SF IV, I prefer Melee to Brawl, even if I'm better at IV and Brawl than Melee and Third Strike.

Honestly dude, you've no room to talk.

  • And I wupped Bored in a money match. You even said he was better yourself. So maybe I don't care to much about friendlies? Dude, I know it sucks when your favorite character isn't viable, but every fighting game has this problem. You either have to live with it, play a higher tiered character, prove 'em wrong and win some tournies with low tier, or quit the genre.

King of Fighters may be fun for you now, but I'm sure tiers will begin to divide the game as well. I'm sorry dude, its just happens.

  • Bored's technique was better than mine, and he did beat me pretty bad in Ike dittos. However, do not confuse my skill and character knowledge when fighting other characters to Bored's.

I beat your DK before, and I will beat you again. The only difference between us is that I noticed he had better Jab cancelling, and better B-Air auto-cancels than me. He also is a lot more defensive in his movements.

However, Name a money match. When you are certain to go a smashfest, I will be there.

  • Alright, I only ever got to Prince Bistro Tournament (pretty fail, I know), so I guess I'll see you there in 2 weeks?

Also, no matter what happens, I hope you realize this doesn't change what it takes to win in SFIV. Fireballs and keep away are definitely a part of the gameplay formula, but it isn't the only part.

As far as the wager goes, is $1 good for you? Or do you demand higher stakes?

  • Two weeks sounds good. And Let's make it $5, $1 money match doesn't do anything for me.

Also, fireballs are zoning so are normal, and footsies. Focus cancelling and all that, I know about all of those. Fireballs characters controls pacing better, also the vast majority of higher tier people have better attacks that are safer on block.

Switching from Cammy to Akuma, I went from G2-E to G1-B in 2 days.

It's sad, same way someone can jump from Ike to Meta and it increases skill. =/

  • lol bullshit

  • wow , $5 dollar money match. You guys mean business huh

  • internet is serious busniness

  • Yeah, it was serious 2 weeks ago, but apparently not serious enough for him to show up. The Money Match never happened lol.

  • Don't FUCKING COMPARE KOF OR SFIV! way2 DIFFERENT enough said.

  • Oh and I'd like to add the 2nd round of 1st and last match... Exciting stuff :)

  • Does anyone have a link to that street fighter 4 vid when the guy yells "fuck this game, and fuck this tournament" and then someone taunts with guile and the place erupts with screams?

  • I don't have the link but as far as I remember there's an AI vid of Guile (Think it was Fuson) fighting M.Bison (Quite possibly Valle) and both used a taunt on eachother much to everyones delight. Not entirely sure of the specific name or link of vid but if it's an AI vid you can click on "ArcadeInfinity >>>>>>>>" and check the list of movies they've uploaded, if it's one of theirs.

  • I watched the match, it was pretty good but I'm disappointed in Street Fighter IV (No offense to SRK [I'm a member} and to SF lovers). This game just didn't do it for me. =[

Instead, I'm looking towards King of Fighters XII. I find it funny how SNK and Capcom worked on KoF XII and SF IV. Funny right?

But KoF XII is going to be awesome and hopefully make up what Street Fighter IV lacked. But not hate to those that support it.. Just not the game to me.

And hats off to Valle and Combofiend.

  • What is it that SF IV exactly lacking in dude???

  • camp? wtf is that shit?

get the fuck back to smash or halo or madden or whatever the fuck you play.

some people prefer a thinking man's game where turtling and aggro are viable options, instead of the rushdown ashfest that is kof12. kthx.

  • This shows exactly how bad you misjudge things.

KoF isn't Rush down and can be played Smart, it's just faster pace and you have rolling with everyone so projectiles have to be used smarter, like in Street Fighter III where you could Parry.

This game does promote fireball usage, which is why you don't see any low tier characters in tournaments. It's slow enough to take advantage of non-projectile users.

Ryu has hardly any lag on his Hadouken. Also, not knockin' SFIV, not the game 4 me.

  • Dude, KoF is and always has been about rushdown. The game is built around it. Don't believe me? Look at your set of movement abilities. (Run, short hop, super hop, roll) and look at your set of keepaway abilities.. uhh, super jump?

On top of that, almost all fireballs in any KoF game are fucking terrible. You assume I haven't played an SNK game or something.

KoF is fun for what it is, but 'Ryu hardly having any lag on his Hadoken' doesn't break SF. It never has, never will.

  • Yeah, go play KoF (12 sucks major ass) then I guess. No one really cares because SF4 isn't a game like KoF, nuff said.

  • o-o If you honestly think KoF XII sucks you can go die in a fire.

  • Thanks. KoF xii still sucks though, doesn't change anything.

  • You fail so hard it's ridiculous.

    KoF XII > SFIV dude.

  • That's your opinion. And it is mine that KoF 12 sucks, regardless of the existence of SF4.

  • Dude, you fail hardcore, you like this but not KoF XII? You suck horrible.

  • I'm honestly lmao-ing... guess I hit the wrong spot in you to trigger off the fanboy-who-keeps-using-the-same-"retort" receptor in your brain.

It's your opinion. Go play KoF XII. Like I said, I don't give a shit what you think.

  • FAILURE.

  • That's you right there. I like how you were trying to be rational about why you liked KoF over SF4 and a casual troll comment from me brought out the REAL part of you that says OMG SF4 SUCKS KOF IS THE BEST. Rofl.

  • KoF can be played either Rushdown or it can be played like Street Fighter IV where you keep distance. However, in KoF everyone can roll, run, hop back all that.

Street Fighter, encourages the use of projectiles and high level characters because lower tiers have to work extremely hard to keep up. Which is why I don't see anyone with a low character being used. I don't remember the last time I seen a Cammy or Dan being used.

KoF is just so much better, even graphics and supers.

  • Your points are extremely laughable.

SF4 can be played rush down or at distance. Everyone in SF4 can dash, jump, FA or use zoning special moves unique to them to close or open up distance.

People who think SF4 encourage use of projectiles would get their asses whupped by a good Rufus, Zangief or Abel before they knew wtf was up.

KoF and SF4 are fighting games with totally different styles. If you like KoF go play it. No one gives a shit about your opinion that it's better than SF4, really.

  • Doubtful. I want to see how a Dan fares against a Spamming Saggot.

  • Please indicate which part is "doubtful". And Dan is actually pretty good in SF4, just that no one who is serious enough to appear in SF4 tournament uses him because he is supposed to be a joke character.

  • Doubtful, even if he was a Joke character, if people think he had a chance to participate with higher tier'd people he would be here, Joking or not.

Daigo used Ken regardless of his Favourite Street Fighter Character being Ryu in Third Strike based off of Tier.

You will only find people playing the same characters over and over in tournament of a "High Calibur" level. And the vast majority are projectile heavy users.

With no parry system or roll, slow movements.. graphics....FAIL.

  • ok dude while not everyone may agree with your statements regarding sf iv, it is completely understandable as to why you prefer KOF over it. I might give it a try one of these days, who knows.

  • wow combofiend's a beast

  • why didnt ed ma use his main?

  • He has been maining with Akuma for a good amount of time before SBO quals. I forgot when he made the switch though.

  • Edma dropped Ken for Akuma a while ago (4-6 months maybe).

  • surprise internet, akuma is ed's main. he hasn't been using ken for months.

  • I knew that much, but did he ever say why he switched? I'll admit it looked like his Ken was loosing a bit of spark but still...

  • Akuma>>>>Ken in SF4. He has more tools, tons of mixups, damaging combos, footsies, runaway game etc. With Ken u have to work more and his moves don't do that much damage.

  • Will people still yell 'The master!" when ed ma lands and SRK, or will that joke die with his ken use?

  • So nice at 6:02 the setup. 3x throw 4x everybody is gonna try to tech but he mixed it up,NICE! I hate being cornered!!!

  • edma with akuma? he has been showing ken 4 like a year! I bet there is some high tek shit he will bust out with at evo!!! I can't wait; this man is DEEP!!! By the way where is gootecks and moval's vids?

ComboFiend your Viper is NASTY!!! goodluck man and good luck team U.S.A!!!

  • Spectacular ending 5 *

  • For whatever reason, the EdMa/Valle and Valle/Sextaro matches just seemed so underwhelming. Lots of random mistakes by Valle, and EdMa. CF did play pretty solid, not really exceptional compared to what a great Viper looks like, but enough to get the job done.

But hey, if they won, they won. Valle/CF/Marn/Wong, we're at least sending some good names over to Japan.

  • that's what happens when you play street fighter for 13-14 hours. You start missing stuff.

  • wow. I don't think i will ever even come close to this level. the use of FADC is... ridiculous.

  • On the contrary, I'm pretty disappointed at the lack of FADC combos which would have won them their respective rounds. Namely Alex Valle.

Not saying he's not a good player though, but disappointed that he wasn't doing Ryu's most efficient combos given the meter.

  • lol yeah you right....my dream was TOUGEKI final valle (akuma) vs daigo (ryu) but this is only a dream! I think that valle is not much strong in SFIV like in SFzero3,,, :(

  • they were up for like 13 hours in this competition lol. both teams were worn out. if they wouldve been prep'd or something. the performance and mostly likely the ending of this fight mightve been different.

  • He was trying but he whiffed a few, as you can see by the ex dragon punches that came out. Im sure he will take care of that, or it could be the fatigue. This match was like at 2 in the morning

  • Alex Valle actually understands footsies. Some of you new players 20 and under will never understand. Heck a lot of people 27 and under still don't understand.

  • lol, i found out what footsies is in 10 mins and found out i did it without noticing.

Im 24 but i spent a good 10 years without street fighter in my life. So "never understand" is fairly over the top

  • My comment is a reply to another guy saying "valle doesn't do the best combos" or something like that comparing him to poongko. Footsies is having a good ground game. To actually understand it fully is something few do, even the top top players. Go watch the alpha 3 world championships, valle basically beat daigo anytime daigo didn't have meter with footsies. To "know" footsies is completely different than being really good at it.

  • Hello man, I'm from Mexico and I really wanna know what does "footsies" mean. Sorry if I sound ignorant but I really want to know cause' I'm a big Valle fan. (Valle and Street Fighter are the same aren't ya?...jajajaja)

  • Footsies is basically your ground game. The ability to control the ground by the range of your normals. It's essentially how well your idea of spacing is. It's knowing exactly what range your moves will hit your opponent. It's pretty useful at high level play when you can no longer depend on gimmicks and shenanigans. Footsies can used offensively and defensively. Alex Valle use his in an offensive manner, but it's used more defensively on the East coast. many say that WC has better foots.

  • Pretty interesting you explanation, thanks a lot man. I have another question: what does "gimmicks" and "shenanigans"? I really appreciete your answer and your time, thanks.

  • Not sure if my last message was posted. But essentially gimmicks are a set up techniques that appear to be hard to fight against due to a lack of playing knowledge. For example, random tag in are Marvel are examples of gimmicks. Also Blanka crossup hops are another example. Shenanigans are similar, they are useful techniques, but have enough limitations to where you can't center your game around them. Vega walldive and Honda crossup butt slams are such an example. Or Sims noggie trap.

  • good shit. good luck at SBO later this year!

  • GREAT matches wow

  • I was speaking of the ioed kid

  • wow that was an excellent set of fights :D

  • aww dam, i finally saw this comback!

    AWW DAM..

I would of been madder than a bitch if my fucking character got dazed in that situation... ohhh they would of had to get security or something cuzz i would of been heated. lol but nice comeback.... Mike ross's was better tho = ]

  • SICK

  • Seriously....Ed Ma Demon was probably one of the sickest setups Iever seen.

  • Fuck yea, as an akuma I already have some nice setups but that one is sick cus most will try to punish air ex tatsu. and edma is now my favorite player for exposing that setup. Thanks

  • HOLY SHIT is all i said!

  • It was cool when Poongko did it first.

  • HYPE.

  • Combofiend's Viper is sick!!!

    -JB

  • Valle rulez!

  • i remember when that crazy USA chant started. ed ma had this hillarious look on his face like "..what the fuck?" it was kinda random to be chanting USA. kinda fucking hillarious tho. I think some cheeky bastards probably planned the chant and everyone just fell for it.

    fucking genious.

  • Im pretty sure the USA chant was b/c the grand final was Rufus (USA) vs Viper (USA)

  • haha you had to be there for it man.. haha it was so funny cause when the players realized everyone was chanting USA they're faces looked so confused.

  • *their

  • go to ufragtv(dot)com and check out the whole 40 minute duel. it was one for the ages. and for those who question Valle cause of this one vid, check out his play he is a big part as to why he and combo won this tourney.

  • AWESOME good to see valle using ryu again

  • GIVE ME MORE BATTLES LIKE THESE!!!!

  • clutchfiend.

  • That was one for the books this game is amazing ^_^.
