I have lots of these in my lake. I only ever catch the small 4 inche babies though. And half the time they swallow the hook! I get the hook out everytime but it takes a while. They swim away really fast once they are in the water again but i dont know if they are ok

It is a brown bullhead catfish. I keep them as pets too. I toss crawdads in my tank. The next morning, lol, the tank is torn up, rocks tossed about, heard some splashing during the night, and the crawdads are gone. Seen them bite a bullfrog tadpole in half.

Use a small pink and white mister twister or jig with bobber... works great for panfish!!! Rapala minnow silver 3 inch for Bass.... Hope that helps....Matt

yes filter aerator ,bull heads cant eat big bluegill-tey minnows or small gold fish-use gravel dirt will muddy the tank

i love bullheads, so cute. they make noise like a searobin if u take them out of the water. also amazing on light tackle. once hooked they are so quick that even on heavy 20lb saltwater gear it is hard to keep them from finding structure to foul your line. they love bread and tiny chunks of scented lures. put him on a dry surface-he can breathe thru the watery slime-and watch him slither around like a Clarid Catfish. Just try to avoid touching the soft belly.

I caught him last year -he was only 7 inches long then-now he is 14 or 15 inches long-he munched all 12 of the gold fish that you see in the tank just last night-when the lights go out Sturgio has the advantage and he eats all the dumb dumbs (thats what we call gold fish because they have never seen a big hungry fish before)
