Obviously unbeknown to you, criticism of Gonzales spread across the aisle. He was knee deep in controversies and scandals (notice plural) and had no credibility with anyone in congress. He resigned on his own accord because he was exposed, not because some meanie Dems hurt his feelings.

America has come a long way in regards to race relations, but with that said, we still have a long ways to go.

Just recently, the head of the Wisconsin firefighters union, Rick Gale resigned due to his use of a racial epitath directed at Obama. This only goes to show that racial hatred is so deeply ingrained in some people that they are willing to risk losing their jobs... because of it. People like Gale, also help justify the need for "affirmative action" in the workplace...
