@TheSnakeLibrary naw man, they have a very small range in louisiana and texas, then again in new mexico and colorado, but occur mainly in the north eastern region of the united states.
@AJherps they also occur in extream southern canada.....it is actually belived that the reproduction is different between the smmoth greens in the us and the ones in S canada....in the south (US) they are egg layers but in the northern most parts of its range they may supposedly give live birth....probably because it might not be warm enough for incubation
@AJherps i know a guy who saw one near windsor ontario...which i think is like one of the southern most cities in ontario......and i have seen 2.....but they were road kill and i saw them on my way to killbear national park last summer...its sad that all the snakes herpers want to see most become road kill way too often =(
@AJherps well the first one was deffinetly a green cause i got out of the car and examined it but the second one i passed while my cousin was driving at like 50 mph and could have been a garter or water snake with some strong green pattern lol
@ernispel i know. herping is weird you don't get much sleep when on a trip. stay up late at night road cruising and get up early the next morning before it gets too hot.
i went on it this summer and i was looking on the car rides for you guys herping!!!!!! it was a big out west trip. i have pictures of the trip on my update and pictures video!! check it out!!!
Nicely done Nicholas. I assume you found the snake and not your old man ;-) See if you can train the dog to go after blind snakes and eastern hogs next.
I finally caught a rough green snake this past summer, havent seen any smooth ones though, are there any in alabama?

Rough greens have keeled scales. check your local field guide to see if you have smooth or rough where you live
