Oh noes, don't piss off the 10 people in the world who have the power 9. A lot more people are going to be happy than be pissed about it. And the ones who have power 9 are extreme dicks anyway. /facepalm
Reprinting power would likely cause a mass exodus of those who invested $1,000's in power to play the format now. This was under the premise that WotC would not break their promise and devalue their investment. Yes, reprinting power will bring in much needed new blood but would the format be better off without the zealous core it has now? Perhaps not
I feel a better solution would be to allow the reprints they already have...CE. Make CE legal and you just dropped the barrier to entry 10-fold.
if they where to reprint it as a "from the vault" thing would also anger alot of magic players. people have spent alot of money to get their set of P9 and if you could just go to the card shop and get a "from the vault of it for 20-30 bucks is that realy fair to the people that got it before? that would drop the price of power significantly
WotC is not in the business of making people who bought Power as an investment happy. They are in the business of selling cards to people/stores. Them reprinting Power or not is going to be based on how much they will get from selling those packs/from the vaults/whatever versus potential costumer (dis)satisfaction.
reprinting power would be a horable idea, in a set or otherwise. if it was reprinted in a set that means it would be playable in T2 whitc would be grossly unfair to the people that didnt play around alpha/beta or didnt want to drop a lot of money just to get them.
lsv already said in the comments on his site that reprinted Power obviously would not be legal in T2 or Block but only Vintage. Anyone with half a brain could figure that out... Recall in standard? Are you bleeping NUTS?!
I don't want to get bashed for this, but cards with two or three color symbols in their cost should be harder to play. Filters make it too easy to throw Cryptic Command, Cloud Thresher and Cruel Ultimatum into the same deck and with little to no repercussions.
Restricting mana bases means Wizards can get away printing better cards. The new duals help attribute to the overall good of the game and I hope they keep them in the core for a long time.
it would be nice if they print power in a divine vs demonic type release. not playable except in eternal formats, but considerably cheaper at the downside of it not actually being power. just reprints (and hypothetically proxies) of actual power for the player who would like to play type I but simply doesnt want to commit to buying 300 dollar cards by the bunches.
Great show, but I think Mashi and LSV definitely need to stop their off topic quibbles like whether M10 is out or not. It unfortunately removes from the quality of an otherwise interesting show.
The guy on the left is very annoying. He doesn't argue very good points, or any good points for that matter. He pretty much just restates what he or LSV just said over and over and over...
No, that's Vintage only. In every other constructed format cards are either banned or you can run 4 of them in your deck+board (basic lands and those stupid rats notwithstanding)
No, that's vintage only Now, things can change, just because it isn't that way now doesn't mean it wouldn't be better (or worse) and clearly they are familiar with the concept.

if they piss people off they are likely to quit the game and having a bunch of people quit would look bad, wizards has to look good you know

Reprinting stuff like Power Nine in something like a From The Vault release might be okay, but never never never in regular set.
The idea of any card having some Super Ultra Rare Foil version would only be acceptable if it was also printed as a normal card at a normal rarity.
Putting some kind of promo card in each booster box (outside of the packs) would be an interesting incentive for people to buy entire boxes...

Reprinting p9? Are you kidding? Why am I even watching this?
raptorcardz 2 years ago
They restrict cards in a format too you know, not every card released has to be allowed 4 in a deck.
NicholasCobalt 2 years ago
Restricting reprinted p9 is pointless. It will never happen so there is no point arguing.
