I have a buddy that used to work on the kill floor doing pigs he would stun the pig hang by the feet slit its throat & bleed it out upside down.He has had a pig wake up before he can slit the throat & now you have one pissed off pig swinging by its feet & you have to hit it with the prod again. This happened once & after that he started turning up the stunner & was forced to turn it back down later when he was told the pigs legs were breaking when he hit them with the prod.Hunting isn't cruel!

@nreff55... You should probably do a little bit of reading up on the effects that feral pigs are having on the eco system in north america. They are an invasive species that are both ruining land and killing off other animals (quail, turkey, deer, etc.). It turns out that they just so happen to be really tasty as well. In east texas the game wardens are telling everyone to kill every one that they see. Even if they just leave it laying. They're taking over!

@crazyjohnforyou Yeah, since plunging a knife into its chest isn't gruesome or inhumane. Quick shot to the head is the most civilized way to put any suffering animal down. A real hunter tries his best to make a clean kill, when a situation like this happens, you do your best to keep the animal from suffering any longer.
Remember the hunters code. rule 1. always kill clean (never force the animal to suffer) rule 2. never waist a kill (you kill it you eat it) rule number 3. always respect your kill (understand and respect that the animal did die for you to survive) first the rules of the hunters code.

I have a buddy that used to work on the kill floor doing pigs he would stun the pig hang by the feet slit its throat & bleed it out upside down.He has had a pig wake up before he can slit the throat & now you have one pissed off pig swinging by its feet & you have to hit it with the prod again. This happened once & after that he started turning up the stunner & was forced to turn it back down later when he was told the pigs legs were breaking when he hit them with the prod.Hunting isn't cruel!

@nreff55... You should probably do a little bit of reading up on the effects that feral pigs are having on the eco system in north america. They are an invasive species that are both ruining land and killing off other animals (quail, turkey, deer, etc.). It turns out that they just so happen to be really tasty as well. In east texas the game wardens are telling everyone to kill every one that they see. Even if they just leave it laying. They're taking over!

A real hunter tries his best to make a clean kill, when a situation like this happens, you do your best to keep the animal from suffering any longer.
