  • My shoulder has dislocated about 10 times in the past 3 years. The first time it dislocated I nearly passed out from the shock and I had to go to the hospital for treatment. Ever since then I've always reduced it myself using this method, though I just learned this method through trial and error, seeing as how the hospital didn't tell me how to fix it on my own. One thing I've noticed is that the more often I dislocate it, the further I have to rotate my arm for it to pop back in.

  • @pba11er13 surgery

  • That is one badass s.o.b.

  • Text book it is supposed to be under GA with Relaxants. I observed one without both, TONS of screaming!

    Thanks for the upload.

  • i dislocated my shoulder in january and they told me 5 months before i went back to rugby so i was about to go back to rugby this month until i dislocated my shoulder on a trampoline last weekend ill probably now need surgery. and will not be able to go back to rugby for 6 months

  • guys for shoulder dislocation, would you prefer open surgery as they said the results are excellent or arthscopic one with bad to middle results.

  • @abdulrahmanMuhmmad I'd go for the open surgery, it's a bit longer in recovery but it's better in the long run.

  • thanks my mom here scholder das that all the time and thats gonna be expansive so i tryed it just like you sayd (yes got a and b diploma for ahbo.) so i know what i can and cant do it was more like a, a right :) so thanks

  • Thanks a lot! My shoulder popped out last night as it has many times but I was by myself so no one could assist me to put it back in place. I was in severe pain for over a half hour trying to put it back in. I went online and found your video, within 5 seconds of seeing your video, I did the 35 degree angle with my arm and bam, it popped right back in. I strongly recommend this method.

  • my shoulder is popped out right now and it wont go back in!! hurts so bad mannn

  • @fr0zdify You should have gone to the hospital instead of posting that it won't go back in. This is an emergency training video only, if you dislocate your shoulder, you should seek immediate medical attention.

  • @MrPsychic8472 it popped out again this morning. this video always helps me pop it back it without panicing lol thanks =p i went to physical therapy this morning and they gave me soem workouts to do but it pops out really easy. its the 6th time its popped out since i injured it

  • I had my shoulder reconstructed 3years ago. It was the only way to fix it and is now all good :)

  • @InsaneBurrito45 Ya it does..funny comment but so true

  • That's shit hurt so bad omg I wanted 2 die when I fuk my shit up

  • what type of dislocation do you do this for?

  • @massgilms Anterior only.

  • I dislocated my shoulder less than a week ago (2nd time it happens)...I was put to sleep, and when I woke up my arm was on a sling and I was ready to go, I'm currently on a sling, and I feel like my arm has good movement, and I was wondering if its ok to take off the sling since it hasn't even been a week, but I feel pretty good...a reply would be greatly appreciated

  • I wiped out skiing this weekend at mslm and realized my left shoulder was out so l skied to the patrol hut.The patroler told me that he couldn't do anything accept call the ambulance and off to the hospital.I knew the longer l waited the harder it would be to put back in,so l lifted my arm up and grabbed the top of the door and hung all my body weight on the arm and pop ,what relief .Don't wait too long!!!!!Dan

  • thank you so much! i just helped my friend with his shoulder after dislocating it just now! you're a life saver!

  • i can already feel it by just watching

  • how the mother fucker you heal a dislcoated shoulder?

  • how to heal a dislocated shoulder? its very painful through the dislocation and aftermath

  • nice one with this posted video, mine came out this morning, n gettin to the hospital wasne really an option wi scotland absolutly covered in knee deep snow almost, lol talk about timing.got me out of a real jam, appreciated x

  • @steviecov7 Glad I could help.

  • @steviecov7 Ahh haa haa.

  • A question regard to muscle spasms. Is it true that it's better to reduce it ASAP before the spasms set in, or it's really one of those races that you can't win and just stick to muscle relaxing agents instead? Thanks.

  • @HiroProtagnist I'd pop it back in as soon as possible so that it's not in pain and so it's actually normal :P

  • Easy way is a combination of the last method but using a chair and a bag of sand... takes longer but less pain... Always go to your doctor as there is a risk of complications such as avascular necrosis to the humeral head, nerve problems etc especially if not done properly... not worth the risk

  • holy fuck! my shoulder hurts when i watch this!

  • My shoulder would become more sensetive to pain every time I felt the pain.

I noticed that if I flexed my upper arm I would get the sting when I released, I did that a few times and convinced myself to take the pain to see where I would get, it got so bad my vision started to get darker with the pain.

The next day my shoulder was between ok and the state I just described when I had to hold balance using my hands, I twisted them and felt a heavy bump, the pain was gone instantly.

  • 3/3

I feel pretty stupid having posted all that but I'm really curious what the problem could have been.

A doctor checked if my arm was broken and nothing more about an hour after the accident, I hadn't moved my arm for like 40 minutes so I could do the broken arm test without extreme pain.

    Sooo, any idea?

  • I have recovered but I'm just curious.

I had a pretty bad accident, I was snowboarding at the highest speed I have ever gone on before when I got my board hooked on ice, flew 10-20 meters and landed on my head and left shoulder at least 5 times on the ice.

I was in extreme pain when I stopped seeing yellow and the little power I could give from my arm caused even worse pain, it very slowly got better over the next 1-2 months but the pain always came back when I used my arm.

    *character limit*

  • I dislocated mine 3 times in six months.....I can totally feel the guys pain at 0:53........worst pain I've ever felt in my life.....had surgery a year ago.....still only have about 85% of my motion back :(

  • The only proper way is the Martin Riggs method.

  • if anyone found a treatment for a dislcoated shoulder, then send a private message. this injury eats up time, please, 5 months is enough and dont want to wait it out anymore, please help

  • @Some1cracker1 You just said you had a treatment, now you're asking for one? You're done commenting on here.

  • @Some1cracker1 there are lots of treatments for a dislocated shoulder. I'm just recovering from my second operation. The initial 'fry and bake' (muscle tightening) didn't work for me but the 'latajet' has a much higher success rate and is the common repair most sports people. I suggest getting an MRI first of the area and seeing a surgeon to see what the problem is - for example elongated muscles, missing cartilege etc... as everyone is different - hope that helps - all the best

  • @Some1cracker1 dude you're a tool, get professional medical help no one thinks big of you.

  • 9 times in less than a year. finally getting the surgery hahaha

  • I dislocated my shoulder 5 months ago, and recently i found out the treatment for a dislcoated shoulder, i will do it, and will recover my shoulder, i the only MAN who have the treatment for a dislocated shoulder, its only with me, i wont give it to anyone, it works 100%, i wont tell you it, but trsut me it works, i will try it on my shoulder, i the only man who have the treatment, im the only king to have it, my new way have worked great when i tried it only for oneday. im the strongest puncher

  • @Some1cracker1 Right, so let me get this straight, you just posted that your shoulder is in so much pain, yet you magically discovered a special way to reduce it so you won't need surgery? And randomly say you're the strongest puncher? Troll somewhere else.

  • whats the point if your shoulder reduced and you dont have strength and flexibilty after the dislocation again?

  • @Some1cracker1 Yes, keep it dislocated so that you're in extreme pain and unable to actually use it...

  • @MrPsychic8472 you are insane

  • @MrPsychic8472 stop making a falsue accusations. i found a treatment and it will help me to become a heavy weight champ, if you take a moment and just review some of the researches studies, you would be astonished that they have a decent treatments for the dislocated shoulder, but the majority of hospitals and medical centers dont use that way to treat your dislocated shoulder, they treat with the old-school way and tie you in a sling which scientifcally proven wrong. just read late studies

  • I FUCKED MY SHIT 5 YEARS AGO AND NOW IM FUCKED IT HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN A FEW DAYS AGO.... IT HURTS SO FUCKING BAD THAT I RATHER TO GET SHOOT ON THE FUCKING LEG! LOL... ANYWAYS FUCK IT I WILL GO TO SURGERY.

  • @noxtradamentus You should have had surgery sooner instead of being in pain for 5 years.

  • its true i dislocated my shoulder, but i will make a full recovery, i will heal my shoulder, i will never just wait it out, noooo, i will study my shoukder and will make a full recovery, remember, today its 17th/9/2010, after 4 months from now, i will be able to get my shoulder 100% normal and strong again,i dont believe in imobssible, and here goes the true hero. there is nothing could stop me from healing my shoulder, im the geatest, im the strongest, im the only man

  • @dislocateDshoulder89 Stop drinking before you post on youtube

  • dislocated mine today for the second time, this video helped me, thks!

  • I dislocate my shoulder like once a month, hurts so bad...why is it so frequent ?

  • @raven66614 Once you dislocate it, the tendons often tear. When the tendons are torn, there's nothing much really holding it in place, other than the bone. I'd recommend seeing a doctor.

  • Sounds like a petifile.

  • @goflamesgo96 You sound like an idiot. It's spelled 'pedophile' in the first place, and secondly, no one else knows what you're talking about.

  • @goflamesgo96 wahahaha petifile??? buddy u r an idiot

  • @buster999121 I know ;(

  • once ur shoulder go back to place will it still hurt??

  • @vinceperez158 For me, it feels so much better when it slips back in. It's not painful anymore, just the muscles around it are sore.

  • @vinceperez158 Not really. Infact quite the opposite - it feels great! Although the muscles will be strained.

  • ouch

  • OOOWWWW!!!!!!! Oh man!!!! Hope that dont happen to me

  • @MyVideoEgo1 I hope it doesn't happen to you either, it hurts like hell :P

  • My shoulder is getting dislocated every week or so,as i didn't go to hospital the first time it happend but adjusted it myself.

It works for me in several ways, before i used to lift my arm above my head and it poped back in,but that hurt like hell, now i just back up to a wall with my shoulder and press in the direction its suposed to go to pop back in.

I'm awaiting my surgery,i'm told its a minor operation and it takes about a week to 10 days to recover.

  • Cool

  • Don't go to 89miketysonn's page!

  • @DenverCholoX3 Flag him as spam, then report him via his profile.

  • is it me or does it seem ralaxing when the it gets poped back in ??

  • @ThatsMyCoke It is, almost like a relief that it's back in, plus it makes the pain stop.

  • @MrPsychic8472 popped back in feels so friggin awesome.

  • @MrPsychic8472 the relief of it getting back in is....incredible to say the least

  • @MrPsychic8472 But the moment it happens it hurts like hell, it's unbelievable how painful this can be!

  • @89miketysonn Quit spamming.

  • Can anyone compare shoulder dislocation pain to childbirth pain? Having experienced the former, I want to gauge how well I might do against the latter...

  • @purplemoosemoose Yea, I bet they're nothing alike...

  • Mine was reduced by having me lie face down on the table with my arm hanging over the side. Sandbags were taped to my hand and the femoral head slipped back into place. I don't know what the research is behind this method, but it felt a lot gentler than the methods shown here!

  • @purplemoosemoose They tried that with me since I'm allergic to morphine. It was way too painful to roll on my side since they laid me down on my back, so I got a hit of benadryl and they popped it in then.

  • hello buddies, im trying to have any connection with anyone who dislocated his shoulder, its really important, i dislocated my shoulder for first time and need info please, take it serious

  • hello, i dislocated my shoulder for first time, how you dislocated your shoulder?

    please tell me

  • Worst pain EVER!

  • @DenverCholoX3 can you tell me about your injury,,, the shoulder dislocation of you had one?

  • @89miketysonn Yea, I'll message you because it's too much for comment.

  • i used to go bodybuilding and karate but my shoulder dislocated 2 times and i quit dreaming about sports

  • @MGLbatbold Don't give up on your dreams. If I'm not, neither should you. Have you ever tried parkour or any other unique sports?

  • um generally if ur a young athlete (like me i played hockey and dislocated my shoulder about 10 times) u prob need surgery to repair this rly sucks cuz it takes about 6 months rehab after until you are able to compete competitively in a contact sport im currently awaiting surgery

  • tysm 4 this video my arm came out for the 4th time :(

  • i usually just do the over the shoulder technique and hold both arms then go dowm

  • ive dislocated my left shoulder 3 times all in sports how can i avoid poppin it out again?.. does boxing mess it up

  • i just dislocated my shouldr an hour and a half ago for the 4th time. and let me tell you smthing IT IS THE MOST PAINFUL THING THAT EXISTS OF EARTH

u wanna get back at sum1, just dislocate his shoulder

u wanna torture sum1, just separate his humerus from his scapula.

and that is why i'm no longer afraid of needles, injections or stitches etc cos i know they can never be as painful as having a bone which is not in its proper place

  • @ujji03

For me it hurts for a second, then it doesn't hurt.

  • i dislocated my left shoulder once while skateboarding and for no reason now my right does sometimes and its extremeley painful at times. and my left dislocates a lot. its did when i was sleeping last night i wanted to scream

  • How should I proceed after putting it back in place? I dislocated it for the second time. It was okay for a week or so (sore) but I recently stretched it the wrong way. Should I not use it at all for it to heal? Thanks in advance for the advice!

  • I just recently dislocated my jaw twice in a day. Second time i saw my doctor. He said that for 24 hours i should use the joints as little as possible. And if after that i had further dislocations i should see a specialist, because then the might be a problem with the joint. But if your shoulder had more than a week to restituate and then i would definately see a specialist and get a scan. I wouldnt risk getting gout anyway.

  • Yes anesthesia, recovery 6-8mths, Pain yes but gets better in time.

  • my shoulder is soo messed up! i need help with it bad =( it feels out of place!

  • Then go to the hospital or to the doctor's. If it feels messed up, then you need to seek professional help.

  • I've had 13 dislocations, some so severe it took hours to reduce. Some I've been able to put in myself . Last one just had someone hold the hand of the affected shoulder, as if shaking hands and with other hand pull the elbow in. Relaxing and speed is the key.

Same pain as broken arm but when it hits the brachial plexus, it's worse. Too much damage to keep in, now surviving surgery. grrr

  • I've dislocated mine like 10 times, Im going for surgery this Friday... How was your surgery?? was it very painful?? were you put to sleep?? and how long is the recovery process..thanks!

  • @skarloxxx Surgery is short. Rehab sucks and that is why I don't get it. Pop your shoulder out once and ya got an 80% chance of doing it again. Do it a second time and you got a 99% chance. Re-hab is 4 months on the surgery. I have been doing many exercises and wear a sully brace when I motocross and the second time was in gym in volleyball. First time on ma dirtbike. I have also popped my right shoulder out once 4 years ago and haven't had trouble since. Guessing I just got lucky.

  • the first dislocation is horrible, the second isn't so bad and after that it's not so bad

  • I agree, cause each time tears a little less, plus you know what to expect.

  • This happened to me while in the Marines several years ago, while in the field.

    Brings back memories...

    painful, painful memories.

  • This video was actually quite objective and easy to understand. Where could I get some more videos like this one?

  • I just did a google search for a dislocated shoulder video. I'd recommend it for any other videos, the site I found this at only had this one.

  • my shoulders pop out all the time are there any strength training exercises i can to do help prevent this from happening as much?

  • If you do exercises with an injured shoulder, it could make it worse if you don't do it correctly. I would recommend you talking to your doctor about it.

  • @1Gaumer

Click the "How to treat a dislocated shoulder", it should be in the Related video's bar. it shows a few exercises that may prevent it from happening again

  • damn

    that looks gnarly

  • God that looks painful

  • i can do that easly and allot! i thimk its double jointed

  • i used to dislocate my shoulder all the time but nobody had to put back in, wen i stud up my muscles contacted pulled it up by itself

  • stood*

  • @3lfootball52 Then you weren't fully dislocating your shoulder. Many people get confused and when you go to the doctor and talk bout surgery he asks how many REAL dislocations you have had where it had to be put back in the ER. Other then that when he feels how stable your shoulder is by putting it in several positions you and he can feel it slide around if you have dislocated it.

  • i have shoulder discolation before 2 years when i was 16 after that i have no more disculations my shoulder is like before no problems im football player . dont scared the people for this shoulder disculations if hapen once will be hapen twice..thats depends of the organisam and the age of the man ;p)

  • i need some advice, i was out at a night club last night and for the first time my arm was dislocated, im now in a sling for 6 weeks and ironically we were out celebrating passing a life gaurd course, theres a ob opening as a life gaurd at the end of august will i be fit enough to perform at my best ?

  • I don't know, it's up to you. If you keep with the physical therapy and follow your doctors advice, you may be able to do it. Follow your doctors advice, as I said in the video info, I'm not a doctor, I just posted it here as a help to someone to reduce the shoulder, not make future medical diagnostics.

  • likely dude, ice is cruscial in the first week. a sling for that long seems like too much. but if you tore something you may need it. if there isn't pain when you move it then you can start with moving it but stay away from pain. I dislocated mine last week, and popped it back myself within a minute. It was my first instinct plus I've studied a ton of human anatomy. mine is good but weak.

  • I won't be doing any weights for at least two more weeks. but take it slow. dont do too much and don't do too little. doing too little will cause muscles to get really weak. Folow the Physios advice it should be close to mine.

  • well its been 4 days now and the doctors decided to chhange the time to being still for 2 weeks then 3 months in a sling, apparently i got an 84% chance of it popping again cause of my age, and i also have nerve damage below my shoulder on the bicep i think, either way the pain is pretty much non existent so long as i dont do major lifts on weigghts or anything

  • Iam a lifeguard, i dislocated my shoulder six times so far, do your physio, the front crawl and supmerged victim portions of rescues can easily dislocate your shoulder ( happened to me) its not pretty. If you feel confident and or comfortable enough, i would still apply. But be careful, you sure as shit wont be perfmorning your best, but if you can pass the NLS practical then your good to go.

  • thanks mate, ive already signed up and passed my fitness test and whatever and i havent really had any problems with the shoulder cept a few aches every now and then but on top of it all i should be ok for january.

  • Wow, that really sucks... When I broke my arm, this dude in the bed next to me had a dislocated shoulder. Really looked painful =S.

  • mine pops out now and then. its nt a big deal. hvnt been to the doctor yet but have heard once it gets dislocated it cannot heal back

  • It can heal back, but it's best to see a doctor, especially since it keeps popping out. You probably have torn tendons, and you need professional help to deal with that.

  • ive heard tendons dont grow back. is it true?? im really unhappy about my shoulders as both of the tendons covering the AC joint are torn. i heard em rip. the right one ripped off while i was running arkour and i pulled all my weight with one hand and the left one ripped while i was wrestling 3 frnds at the same time. im the sporty type and ths really has got me out of all adventure sports. does it heal back-the tendons i mean?? i dont like hospitals and all so ill only go if it does heal back

  • Listen to me. Go to the doctor. I don't know if tendons do or don't grow back, but it sounds like you need professional medical treatment.

  • thanx... got myself an appointment with an orthopedic on 23rd....hope it helps. thankyou once again

  • Dude, you need to go to the doc. You could have serious problems. Tendons will heal but you're going to go to the Dr.

  • thanx.i will

  • Tendos are attached to bone and muscle if the tore off the will become fibrotic scar tissue. unless you surgically reattache it. ligaments are different they just connect to bone but the can become torn too and the same thing will happen as tendons. Mr Psychic is right. the dr's will know what to do.

  • goin today.pray 4 me.

  • was fighting a kid tackled him and my shoulder dislocated didnt relise it till 20 min after its ben hurting all day i can barly move it is that normal im pretty sure i popped it back in right

  • i was doing a handstand on a skateboard and the board slipped out from under me and i put my arm down in a way that made it give out for some reason and i did a role onto my back

i stood up and it was so hard to move my right arm up and down. it was sore and numb at the same time. i started to get a little nervous cause i wasn't sure what i had done. so i took it with my left hand, pulled it upward and heard a *SNAP* sound where my shoulder blade is. now my arms fine. was it dislocated?

  • I don't know, I'm not a doctor. You should see one, just to make sure.

  • Dude, if I tell you that Travis Pastrana fell on a trick and dislocated his shoulder in Nitro Circus on MTV but he put it back in place right on the spot and went to try the trick a few more times. That is badassery at its best.

  • "Badassery"? That's a new one. ^_^

  • i dislocated my knee yesterday. ive been having issues with it for almost a year now since i tore my acl. i need surgery big time. i even know how to pop it back into place by myself.

  • My dislocation must have been super clean bc each time mine comes out it hurts less and less and "onelassssttime" says that his is horrible at 50+ dislocations. Anyone have any idea? nothing was torn or anything when it happened to me and its come out 3 times now.

  • Hello, i recently dislocated my shoulder, 2 nights ago it happened again during my sleep, i am not sure if its dislocating because i am finding by moving my upper body around it usually gets back into place, surely it must be that hardd to put ur shoulder back into its socket?

  • that second way hurts the most

  • How do you know the difference between a rotator cuff tear and a shoulder dislocation? I use to do lots of over head weights now my shoulder hurts pretty bad, i can't even work out anymore!

  • When did it happen? I don't know the difference between the two, so you should ask either your primary doctor or an orthopedic surgeon.

  • that never works for me u have to put weights to my arm it hurts like hell

  • I had to use the first method the other day. I was sleeping and my shoulder went out, and I was the only one home. I just laid back, rotated the shoulder out as far as it could go on its own, then used my other hand to keep pushing it. It actually worked well.

  • I happend to me 3 times now.two times on the right shoulder and one time on the left. The first time I ran into water and it was to shallow..i hit the ground and dislocated.this was the right shoulder.then i dislocated the left while boxing( I don´t know how it happened, i wanted to beat the other guy and suddenly i felt pain) and the third time i jumped dive at first into water. can anybody show me exercises to strenght the tendows on the shoulder?? please help thx and sorry for my english

  • Here see this one: watch?v=tjA0YNAQI7U&feature=PlayList&p=2AEAB1A921BE8F4A&playnext=1&index=27

you can also look around youtube for shoulder exercises, but do not do anything too heavy or near the limit at first if you are prone to dislocation.

  • I dislocated my shoulder about three days ago and I'm pretty sure I got it back in place but there is a lot of pain I suppose I may have torn some ligament because it feels like its being held by my flesh. It didn't really hurt at all when it happened so I didn't think it could have been that bad, but should the pain should last for this long?

  • You should have it checked - after probably 50+ dislocations & two surgeries, mine will never be the same. When you do it initially it becomes more prone to happen again-I'm an expert now. as bad as mine was/is and at the point where I need an ambulance & plenty of morphine to even move me, still shreinking, you DON'T want to get to the point I'm at. Your ligaments are what gets affected most of the time, but you could have chipped the bone or something.

  • I can't stress ENOUGH how much more serious this can end up than most people acknowledge. Have it checked. Even though the ER staff knows me by name, lol, they always insist on x Rays before touching me to put it back in-good Luck

  • Update All: I managed to dislocate my shoulder the day after Christmas in the most innocent of ways. I took a step outside on a sheet of ice and slipped slightly. I didn't fall, but when I steadied myself, the muscles in my shoulder popped it out. Fortunately, when I fell, the fall jarred it back into a semi set state, then I felt it very slowly sliding up and back into place. That's different from the usual quick pop back in.

  • dislocated mine snowboarding about 2 seasons ago, happened halfway through a holiday when a skier ran into me. absolute agony, was out of the socket for about an hour. the sense of relief when its back in is immediate though :)

then,1 year later it happened again skateboarding, was out for 2 hours this time, and much more painful. ive done some excersises and swam a bit but no formal physio. this vid is useful if it happens to me on the slopes next season, thanks!!

  • 0:53 I felt that one OMG!

  • Mate i know how you guys feel. I dislocated my shoulder playing rugby and it was gutting as the next season I was probably going to play 1stXV rugby too (British equivalent of varsity i guess). However just two matches back i dislocated it again in training. It was really bad as a bit of bone fractured and is now lose in my shoulder. Despite a lot of physical therapy it still came out again and again and i eventually got key hole surgery. Had that about 18 months ago and touchwood no problems.

  • i didn't find it that hard fixing my dislocated shoulder. i just took my other arm and popped it in place... is that good or bad?

  • lmao

  • i think bad but im not sure

  • First Disclocation is the toughest, then if you manage not to dislocate for a month or so, it at times feels like the first time, however if you play a sport, and continue to dislocate weekly or so the pain tends to go down, and it feels loose all the time. But pain is decreased. You can honestly do it yourself, lean forward put the dislocated palm facing forward, give it a gradual tug. Its not hard to put it in yourself :) (thats what she said) ...

  • Yea, I know what you mean. It's one of those pains that really brings back memories. A few weeks ago, I was at work putting stuff in a large box. The stool I was standing on slipped, I caught my arm on the box and popped it out. Fortunately, it popped back in, and I could see it move back in. At least I got to show my co-workers how to make a sling out of pieces of ripped fabric.

  • I have a condition where my ligaments are stretchier than usual and now my should pops out all the time. I cant do the physio's excersises as lifting a small weight triggers a dislocation

  • im the same way it sucks. im debating surgery to tighten the ligaments.

  • Ask your orthopedic surgeon the pros and cons of surgery vs just physical therapy. If you don't have one, ask your doctor for a recommendation.

  • Totally, i play football and i was actually affraid of taking 6 months of healing. I was affraid it would have set me back... however i think it may have been benificial because right now, i have A) no flexibility, B) always the chance of dislocating again.

  • its pain, pain, pain

  • bad to say i got 8 times to dislocate my shoulder! all came from basketball T_T

  • Was so bad at one stage for me (rugby) that it would pop out without any contact. It would happen so much that there was a worry of getting arthritis in the shoulder (also a bit of bone is lose in my shoulder) so i decided to get key hole surgery and 18 months later it hasnt happened again (touchwood).

  • I had the same problem I'm doing physio to get over the op. Can you still play rugby or did you have to give it up?

  • I can play but for me it was more mental than physical. The shoulder will never feel as solid as it used to but you just have to get over that. I never used to wear rugby pads but now i do. I also do rowing now which helps do build up the shoulder. If you can do a five K head race without any trouble then you feel good. You play rugby too?

  • I used be a Flanker/Centre who was a bit obsessed with putting in the big tackles. I've not been able to play for 3 year because of my shoulder. But I had an op in november and I've been building it up since still feels really weak though. I always thought if I did get back onthe field I would have a mental block of throwing myself around having spent so long protecting my weak arm. It really sucks that one day your playing week in week out and a second later your out for years!

  • Man i disclocated my shoulder for the third time in my football game last night,, my arm was stucked in 90 degrees, but the pain had nun to do with the first 2 times tho, they had to give me morphin for the pain.

  • i fuckin dislocated my arm last night. i was drunk with my friends in the park and tripped over a bench. ended up having to call my parents and the police also showed up<:/ not a good night. the pain was intense

  • Yea, that's always enough to sober you up. Then they're hesitant to give you pain killers cause you're drunk...
