  • You think Van Arsdale would have learned some Jiu Jitsu after competing in all these ADCC events.

  • Holy shit! I went deaf for like ten seconds while I watched this!

  • Holy shit! I went deaf for like ten seconds while I watched this!

  • My last name is vanarsdale!!!

  • anthonysmosh: so you're saying getting a single and then side mount to control them huh and what good is that. All you gonna do is lay and pray, just hold on tight there guy

  • I didnt say a wrestler with absolutly zero training in Jue jitsu, im talking a measly few months of jue jitsu training would be enough for an experienced wrestler. Jue jitsu guys know the basics of wrestling , but a wrestler knows absolutly nothing about submissions so where would the harm be in evening it up a bit. With a few months of training the wrestler would beat the jue jitsu guy 8/10 times in mma eaaasssy if the wrestler doesnt havnt fetal alcohol syndrome

  • Depends on the individual. Id route for a jiu-jitsu guy in most cases!

  • @anthonysmoshpadilla Dan Henderson lost twice by armbar to Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera and by rear naked choke to Anderson Silva. Randy Couture lost by armbar to Enson Inoue. Brock Lesnar lost by kneebar to Frank Mir. Matt Lindland lost by guillotine to Murilo Bustamante and by arm triangle to Jacare Souza. Those are the cream of the crop of wrestlers in MMA. Need more examples?

  • @tdavis925 Not to nitpick, but Henderson was ambarred by Rogerio and his bro Rodrigo subbed him the other time :P

  • @B0l0joe My mistake. But I think the point still stands.

  • @tdavis925 Are you fucking serious? I didn't say a wreslter vs. a grappler in an mma fight you fucking idiot, thats alot different. And there are tons of examples going both ways but im proud of you for naming a couple, youre a good lil kid

  • @anthonysmoshpadilla "With a few months of training the wrestler would beat the jue jitsu guy 8/10 times in mma eaaasssy if the wrestler doesnt havnt fetal alcohol syndrome" You even threw a fetal alcohol syndrome joke in there to boot. How can people forget that the things they post on the internet are posted right beneath them?

  • @tdavis925 exactly

  • @anthonysmoshpadilla Yea I agree. and its JIU jitsu.

  • @anthonysmoshpadilla Well, Joe Daddy was handled like a baby by BJ Penn and Chael Sonnen has been submitted by Anderson Silva, Paulo Filho, Damien Maia and Renato Sobral. Sobral btw, has also submitted Mike Van Arsdale. And all that was in MMA.

  • @Awesomeguy614 Bite me

  • I wrestled for 25 yrs, then I took 3 months of Ju-jitsu, I was AMAZED, someone who is truly skilled in JJ can usually submit even the best wrestlers but wrestlers have few submission skills, Wrestler > so what if you take him down > he goes into 'guard' and then sets you up for an Arm bar just like what happened to VanArsdale, No matter how strong you are, once a BJJ guy has you in arm bar, either your tapping out or your arms BROKE !

  • 25 yrs? you sure about that?

  • Ive only wrestled for four years throughout highschool and I think you must be the most experienced shitty wrestler of all time. If youre not an idiot and have a basic knowledge of the sport of jiu jitsu wrestling is extremely effective, if youre half decent at single legs you can easily take them down to side mount and you can control the shit out of them. ususally jie jitsus guys take down defence is lackluster at best

  • i do/did jiu jitsu myself dude. im just saying you shouldn't be over confident of your own martial art/position, becuase that's called ignorance.

  • You are an idiot. Look at how good of a wrestler Van Arsdale is, better than you could ever dream of being. He has also been training sport BJJ / no gi for years.

Your theory is bullshit and pretty evident that you have never actually tried what you blabber about.

  • @jshoup Actually you fucking cocksucker, High school free style wrestling for three years, no subbmission experince. The gym i decided to goto was full of total grapplers with no wrestling backround, I was getting beat quite often when we would strictly grapple, than after a few months of picking up the basics of jiu jitsu, i was winning almost every match you piece of fucking shit.

  • @jshoup YOURE the fucking idiot, Arsdale is a wrestler, Almeida is a grappler, but for YEARS theyve been training eachothers bases, so they are not strictly a wrestler and a grappler god FUCKING DAMNIT

  • haha

  • I would like to give a big shoutout to Luigi, who took time out from saving the Mushroom Kingdom with his brother Mario to be the ref for this fight.

  • this is the best comment on youtube! props!

  • hahahahahhahahahahahha

  • @tomwalker389 I thought that was a anorexic Dan Severn!!

  • @tomwalker389 hahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha... you just make my day...thank you hahaha

  • surprising outcome

    \

  • Good to hear Bruce Buffer doing the announcing. Or is that Michael? I don't remember.

  • ya bruce

  • So i'am a little confused what decides were you are from at the start of the fight. I know Almeida is brazilian. But he is born in New York. So shouldn't his flag be us

  • almeida lives in new jersey now but he was born in brazil and is from there

  • That depends if you consider where you are born or where you live your home country. He might actually have dual citizenship.

  • Almeida is and was a beast. One of my favorite fighters. Great to see him back in action.

  • Ricardo`s fighting patrick cote at UFC 86

  • And did you see him using the rubber guard? That was awesome!

  • Good to see Almeida back in compatition. Hes definetly a force and is going to mix things up in the 185lbs division. Wouldnt mind seeing a rematch with Marquardt.

  • the big dog lookedgreat in his return to MMA in ufc 81...calm composed agressive and straight lethal.

  • CACHORRÃOS IS BACK , BIG DOG IS BACK

  • i heard almeida was going to fight again....cant wait to see him back in action.......and im about to go to his dojo so its all good

  • again a wrestler tapping out

  • aint no shame in that

  • you should always tap to an arm bar. your an idiot

  • VERY impressive, I know nothing about BJJ, but I know US wrestlers and VanArsdale is Olympic quality and a national champ, - - so this Brazilian kid really has TREMENDOUS skills to take out someone like Vanarsdale.

  • to SUPERSNEAKYSTEVE he doesn't do it because he opened up a dojo....hehe i go to it. (In Hamilton, New Jersey)

  • Why doesn't Ricardo do MMA anymore? He was good.

  • He opened up a school in Hamilton, New Jersey (hehe I go there)

  • "Pretty Cool". Interesting how he went into that.
