Thank you for this video! It looks simple and easy to make a rose. I will start making them tomorrow for a birthday cake for my mother-in-law. I love it and your video as a treasure to me. Thanks again!
This is so awesome and you made it look so simple. I tired it for the first time and I had no issues. Thank you for posting this video. It was a big help.
r@BRENDA24ES Thanks for the compliment! I have never made a Strawberry Shortcake themed cake (I assume you mean the character, not the flavor). My advice would be to keep it fairly simple so you can enjoy it instead of stressing out about it! Have fun with the pink and green theme but remember to use white too so it still looks appetizing. Look on Google images for some inspiration. You'll do great!
Thanks for this video! So far its the only one I've seen that doesn't make it so difficult... that's awesome for me cause I'm a beginner. One question... how do I apply the flowers to the cake? The cake is covered in fondant as well. Do I use piping gel or water? Thanks for the feedback :-)
@rainyrainbow86 Thanks for the question! These flowers are too heavy to rely on water or gel. I use a wooden stick inserted in the bottom of the flower and then push it into the cake. TIP: try to find a rounded tip flat stick (think small popsicle stick). In a pinch, you can use a skewer or toothpicks but they will allow the flower to spin and may poke through the front of your rose if it has a pointed end. Hope that helps!
@stonkawonka Thank you for the compliment! I am happy to hear it was a success. :) It works great and tastes good too if you want to mix marzipan with fondant- equal amounts of each. Have FUN!
@inegolouise Thank you for the feedback. This is the method taught to me in pastry school and the only method I have used in professional cake shops. I hope you PRACTICE and see great results!
Thanks! This was a great video and I am really looking forward to having a go. I have just bought a butterfly cutter and was thinking about a petal leaf but I am certainly going to try your method first as it looks so good.

I saw this video this morning while pondering whether to buy the expensive cutters for an anniversary cake I'm making.
Thankyou so much for putting this up, I bought the flexible scraper and followed this tutorial and now have 20 handmade roses.
You're video was awesome thanks so much! :D
