  • that chick that comes out at 1:20 is gorgeous. <3__<3

  • Phenomenal quality.

  • I finally broke down and went to the Helmet show tonight. After 15 or so years it was a nice surprise. Page and the boys played a solid set of the new and the old and, despite some guitar tuning issues (new tech/roadie), they delivered a powerful, tight (of course) show for a few hundred Denverites on a Tuesday. 9/27/11: Role Model, So Long, Exactly, Algiers, See You Dead, Ironhead, Like I Care, In Prison, White City, Unsung, She's Lost, Blacktop, Milquetoast. Encore: Rollo, Tic, Wilma's.

  • Helmet is still playing the Los Angeles area.I was fortunate enough to see them four or five times in a span of a year at the HoB, Viper Room, Malibu, Costa Mesa, etc. and never was the lineup any less than it ever was.Every show was absolutely amazing, especially when you're hearing this kind of brillance in some dive club. I saw they just played the viper room a week ago, but unfortunately I've moved out of LA.They still have a website and mailing list, check it out.

  • Love Your work Denco83....A Pure Cultural orgasm that is a dying breed, Great filming brother.

  • unrecognized indeed

  • @Lopez1988chile And I have no idea why. They are the quintisential Thinking mans heavy band, kinda like Isis and Living Syndication, and also A Perfect Cirlce. Those bands 4 some reason just got more recognition but I always found HELMET as talented if not more talented than some of them.

  • hell...it´s annoying being born in the 90´s and now rediscovering all this great music from then without having the chance to get something of this back...

  • What a great bass!

  • No band has ever had this kind of disparity between lineups. This video clearly illustrates the supremacy of Page/Bogdan/Stanier era. The rhythm section is music porn. @ 3:54 Page looks back at Stanier who has just produced a drum F'ing clinic with WTF that was incredible look. A look that will never be seen with the current lineup. Its not the same, its not even close. Thank god for vids like this!

  • saw them last Fall...they still kill it!!!!!!!!!!

  • Saw Helmet at the Manning Bar in Sydney last night, they FUCKING KILLED IT. So fucking good.

  • Seeing Helmet in a few weeks in Newcastle, can't fucking wait.

  • 2:23

  • not that this wasnt cool and all, but what jazz section are you talking about? I sure don't hear one

  • Amazing band. The jazz section kills me every time! So good, so good.

  • Wow, this was an amazing show, maybe their best. However, tonight they are going to be playing at the palladium with the rest of metal alliance tour! So psyched its gonna be my first time seeing these guys and they are by far one of my favorites if not favorite alt-metal band.

  • Very cool footage!!

  • flawless live band

  • thanks for the video dude! Helmet are my new favourite band after seeing them play live, and they got me into jazz ;)

  • i can't belive i still talk to people that never heard of helmet WTF

  • im a chick who loves Helmet lol The Crow made me love this song lol im happy its in the movie. I saw helmet last month these guys were amazing!!!!

  • panzer: disney got hold of it

  • Bring back memories ,I saw them in Dec 95' at the Stone Pony In Jersey. I'm glad see they"re back together If I'm not mistaken.

  • Jim Hucks is indeed a great man. Helmet rule.

  • Great song to invigorate a mosh pit

  • if someone jumped from the stage feet first and hit me, id fuck him up irrecoverably when he touched the ground.

  • @adegamisoumounopano Bullshit.

  • @peterk5699 don't taunt me.. I'll swear at you over the internet.

  • @adegamisoumounopano Right! You're on! Swear, baby, swear to your heart's content.

  • Jim Hucks is a great man. thank you Jim.

  • I love HELMET GIRLS! Chicks shouldn't dig this music as much as I do. But I welcome the ones that DO!

  • I cant believe those dudes....kids are just standing a the front of the mosh, nodding along like it is playskool...hell some of em even seem to be trying "not to get hurt" roflmao........even when the tunes get a up a few amps

  • Dear YouTube, the space at the bottom of this video is not for sale. If you put some shit over it - I will delete it faster than you can check your Google stock options.

    Sincerely, Jim Hucks (Denco83)

  • 1997 I miss this band so much!! Im still head banging with a tummy full of a shrooms and a head of everCLEAR. Nice CombO!!

  • can someone please upload this song but ive........

  • I'm so happy this is on here. Helmet at their absolute peak. Milquetoast, Rude and Unsung are my top 3 songs by the greatest band in history, although not always in that order. Thanks, Denco.

  • The great John Stanier on Drums. Listen to FBLA II after the guitar break. Love that tight snare. Totally original.

  • i will always consider this the song with the best guitar solo of all time, even though the solo only consists of weird harmonies

  • For the person that said 'needs a better drummer. I think the 'Betty' album has the best drum sound out of everything i've listened to.

  • I think Chevelle listened to alot of Helmet!

  • @metalcruzer hell yeah they did

  • FUCK YEAH!!!! love the bass!

  • it's typical grunge early 90

  • Umm yeah Jonnyeck72. Helmet is from the east coast. Only way to get farther from Seattle is Florida or over an ocean. But then again they classified anything not pop as grunge back then.

But let's face it, nothing grunge was ever this hard.

  • Exactly, XthatsrightX ... Helmet had nothing to do with grunge, other than that they used loud, distorted guitars. Some of their riffs may have been cut from the same cloth as Soundgarden, but Soundgarden were not really posterboys for the grunge sound anyway.

  • grunge

  • Nope. Post-Hardcore.

  • So much better than anything out there today. Man, what happened to music?

  • That what i keep at asking myself.

  • People stop doing drugs.

  • @panzerkeil I totally agree. I am a Helmet Fan from Germany. I was introduced to Helmet after my best friend was introduced to Helmet by his exchance Student. Ahh.. It must have been in 1993 or something.... Since then I am a huge Helmet fan. Too bad that the lineup is not the original anymore.

  • @panzerkeil yeah, real words!!!

  • @panzerkeil

it became some sort of fastfood phenomenon :(

  • @panzerkeil there's still great music today. You've just got to dig a little deeper.

  • @HeyDavidHey You mean way deeper

  • @panzerkeil ITS FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY

  • @panzerkeil music my freind, sold out.

  • @panzerkeil Have no clue man, and I have grim feeling it may be a while before it returns 2 its former glory!

  • It's kind of hard to remember now just how original this was at the time. They really sounded completely new. There was nothing this heavy, yet melodic and "nerdy" around. I love this band up to 1998. The "new" Helmet breaks my heart.

  • I would immediately marry one of the chicks during 1:25 - 1:30. Nothing's hotter than a chick bouncing to an old Helmet song. And to the uploader - man, your videos are a gift from heaven. Please upload more if there is. Helmet was the shit once /m\

  • you're an ok fag :)

  • You know Helmet isn't the greatest band ever, but they put up one hell of a live performance. The guitars sound great.

  • i dont think that they are he greatest ever, but they were certainly super duper influential. and they are my personal fav.

  • nice

  • I was listen to this song today at school and I almost jumped out of my fucking seat.

Every ttime I listen to Helmet I loose my mind

  • holly crap

    my favorite Helmet tune

  • gives me the chills

  • nice, I been playing helmet songs like tribute with my band, it really likes to people but they don´t know what band is,

  • Priceless vid! Thanks so much for the upload. Helmet are the most unpretentious metal band ever- they don't bother about the look. They just get on stage and ROCK THE HOUSE!!

  • AWESOME song! thanx for uploading!

  • nice one. they were a good band

  • RESPECT

  • What a monster band they were.

  • Ah, take me back to the 90's, loved listening to this band back in highschool and still do. Best album!!!!

  • khaki rockers

  • grate band , grate song , grate album HELMET RULES !

  • first heard this off the awesome soundtrack for 'the crow'. excellent collection of songs, specially this one.

  • Dude, it's definitely time to put up "Role Model"!

    Much appreciated

  • shit hot drummer

  • Betty is so uderrated...A great song!

  • What a great vue from the pit. Helmet kicks so much ass and they are so under rated! This is one of my fav songs... favorited.

  • This is so cool. Notice how nobody in the audience is really watching the band? they are just there to bang into each other. Pity. Good band. Wasted on these people.

  • chill buzzkill.

  • what the?? they look like they are having a great time grooving along to those infectious signature helmet grooves. pfft.

  • Yeah, but isn't that all too often the case at a heavy rock live show? A bunch of idiots more interested in injuring themselves and/or others than in grooving to the music. Look at those stupid assholes jumping off the stage with no regard whatsoever of the heads they are going to kick or the necks they are going to damage. Stage-diving is the single worst thing to ever happen to the live rock show. I used to grab crowd crawlers' achilles tendon and pinch HARD. Stupid, selfish fuckers.

  • awesome.

  • I got to see them at this same venue in '97, killer show!

  • outstanding footage! I actually met Page Hamilton in 2006, but sadly the only time I have seen Helmet was in 1997, great video!

  • Best video of Helmet playing Milquetoast live. Nice one.

  • just saw helmet 8th time need original

lineup back, just not the same punch.

  • whoaaaaaa, page is wearing air jordan 8s

    great performance nontheless

  • Yes!

  • Kickass! My favorite Helmet song and it's definitley the best footage of them playing it live. Thanks a bunch for uploading it, dude.

  • KICKAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSS!!!

Was the best Helmet's fase...i miss it!
