That's because the "case" (As it's known to morons such as your self) IS ORIGINALLY called a Chassis
Since you're unaware of what a chassis is, allow me to explain, you dumb bitch. A chassis in a Computer, or other electric device consists of the metal frame on which the circuit boards and other electronics are mounted.
THAT is why it's a (proper term) Chassis. So the next time you think you're smarter than someone. stop thinking. You're not doing yourself any favor.
help. I'm new to building PCs. And from what i've seen, placing the parts together seems like a piece of cake. My problem is compatibility. Is there an easy way of learning what parts compatible with each other? I ask this because I always wanted to build a gaming rig, and I refuse to be ripped off from places like alienware, voodoo, etc.

hey guys lm thinking on buying a new pc on september of this year based on amd with a hd5970 gpu a Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition processor with OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 Reaper CL6 Low-Voltage 4Gb all on an asus Crosshair IV Formula, will cost me € 1.210 What you think? Oh, yea my new pc is meant for gaming at high level but l like to work on videos or photoshop stuff like that, guess its gonna make it all work easy. Just let me know what you all thinking. Thanks.
i don't know how are you guys but for me it looks more logical to put the CPU, cooling fan, and memory onto to the motherboard and after you inserted the graphic card you can wire everything up ...
PS: на личном опыте. Имею PhenomII x4 на материнке от Гигабит и Intel i5 на материнке от ASUS все само говорит за себя... @nirvana613 ok and Nvidia keeps putting technology on thier cards that never comes to the market place ever, And that same uneeded technology makes thier crappy cards higher in price and run way hotter than ATI. Which equals bad for all the other components that are near those GFX cards. You sir have been Pwnd get a better education and do reserch on both ATI and NVidia before you post dude, I guess the saying "ignorance is bliss" is so not usable here.
@yoyohi5 just estimating because I don't know current prices, it would be around $800-900 if you were to get another case (not a silverstone, lol) you could probably save $100

I am building a new amd dragon build and I need some tips/help on this new system so I do not screw it up (big money on it) but still cheaper then intel lol. alright the budget is $1,500.00 USD and here is the parts list
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz (Deneb)
ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333

Well can I have some of that money? LOL just kidding I think you got plenty of money for all that and maybe some left over. Ive been going around newegg I'm choosing parts some are a bit more powerful then yours I choose a AMD phenom II X4 965 3.4ghz Gdeneb
G skill 2x2gb ddr3 1600mhz. Hope you enjoy yout crossfire also did you choose a power supply?
how can u connect the Radeon 5770 to the power supply?it has a 6 pin to 4 pin Molex with two splits. i tried but i got only one 4 pin molex comes with my PC... where can i get another one?
@Forgoten0Lore My build is Corsair 800D Case AMD 965 Phenom X4 BE MSI 790FX-GD70 Kingston HyperX 2133 DDR3 4 gigs XFX 4850 x2 (yeah not the best but waiting on the 6x seirs cards) Antec 1000W PSU 2 Kingston V+ SSD 128 gig 2 WD RaptorX 10K RPM All wires sleeved individually :D
@WalkAroundDude to be honest its piss easy to build any gaming pc and making 10times better cable management then his xD the only so called hard part in building pc,s is configuring bios the right way(for the new builders) ... and yes even that is just a matter of reading and doing nothing more :D

I have question. Im about to buy some computer parts to build my own computer with AMD parts and thinking off getting the AMD 965 CPU but Its pretty old and I dont whant to just buy something without knowing if AMD is going to get a new CPU soon enough. get the 955 instead, $40 cheaper and only 3-4% slower. amd will keep the am3 socket for years, so you will be able to upgrade easily enough in the future. the six core chips will come out early next year.
@slushomatic I already have, its far too much power for most people. I'm much more excited about llano and what it will mean for mainstream notebooks.
@slushomatic Neither am I, but the vast majority of users are, so if it does well amd will have a lot more money coming in, which means lower prices for both desktop and notebook processors, intel might even lower prices...not that i'd care.
i've builded pc,s for years now and have been looking at many vids here and other places, but theese videos are the best i've seen so far, you explain everything and shows how to do it and thats it! people always ask me how they should do this and that, but now i just show them this video, its really nice, and the video quality is really good as well, thums up dude
I agree. I actually just built myself an old K6-III system for some old-school gaming and it was quite a lot of fun to use the jumpers and DIP switches again. I definitely checked my settings more than once before firing it up and overclocking. One setting the wrong way and voila, an extra volt to fry your CPU!
would be nice to see a more futuristic set of components ie non stock being set up, nevertheless for the mere mortals a realistic rather than 'ultimate' pc
ATI HD 4870 is not high end anymore with the 4890 out. and the 4890 is no longer high end due to the fact that you can now buy 5870's on newegg and other sites
The Core i5 is called "mainstream" by Intel, but wins the Phenom II X4 965 which AMD calls high-end. I hope AMD comes out with something really really high-end soon.
building a pc isn't that hard... just have screws and all the components... Screwdrivers too... I built my first one when I was 12 or 13... It was a great experiance...
i was 13 when i built my first rig, its so easy. show her this video and tell her benefits, opens up job opportunities to you, useful skill, you would use it alot so isnt waste of money, and you can make a really fast computer for just 400-700 bucks!
The only way is if I get a job..and thats really hard because I don't have a car or someone to take me to work.
So..I'm pretty screwed untill I turn 18 :(
I'm stuck with this lame laptop that barely plays games have to use configs and stuff lol
But I spend my days learning about computers and playing css on lowest settings lol. I want my future job to do something with computers because there amazing to me..and space :)
'Only' 16? How is 16 too young to young to build a pc? Does you mother really want you to be 18 for that?! When are you gonna be ready for sex? When you're 28?
intel and nvidia are the best

ATI HD 4870 is not high end anymore with the 4890 out. and the 4890 is no longer high end due to the fact that you can now buy 5870's on newegg and other sites

The Core i5 is called "mainstream" by Intel, but wins the Phenom II X4 965 which AMD calls high-end. I hope AMD comes out with something really really high-end soon.

i'm an AMD guy, but i'd have to say, calling the phenom ii "ULTIMATE" is a bit overrated..

i was 13 when i built my first rig, its so easy. show her this video and tell her benefits, opens up job opportunities to you, useful skill, you would use it alot so isnt waste of money, and you can make a really fast computer for just 400-700 bucks!

Yeah but my mom wouldn't give me the money.
I want my future job to do something with computers because there amazing to me..and space :)
lol..

'Only' 16? How is 16 too young to young to build a pc? Does you mother really want you to be 18 for that?! When are you gonna be ready for sex? When you're 28?
