  • Im related to judy, shes my great cousin! i wish i could have met her.. my great grandpa burt canova knew her tho..

  • i remember this in the day

  • This is darling! I love it! Judy Canova is horribly under-rated.

  • @philbertwormly I agree! She had a great voice that they hardly ever let her use and she was an accomplished actress. You can see in this video what her vocal range was. She was stuck in those hayseed roles. Thanks for posting!

  • SHE SIGNED OFF HER RADIO PROGRAM SINGING "Go to sleepy little baby. When you wake, you'll patty patty cake, and ride a shiney little pony."

  • Love it! My type humor. Who can equal it today? Somewhat a "different type of humor, I know.

  • I LOVED Judy Canova movies as a child. Ms. Canova's over the top, on going slapstick coupled with that country corn voice used to make me laugh out loud.

MY favorite film is Sis Hopkins where Judy stars as an unsophisticated "country hic" attempting to fit in a high society college sorority. It was like watching a bull in a china shop! Of course in the end she is finally accepted by the snobs and loved by everyone! Only in the movies BUT still FUN to watch. Sad that she is forgotten.

  • I loved her as a kid too and I used to listen to her radio program every week. Sadly, she never got the chance to display her full range of talents. She had a beautiful voice but most of her recordings were comic. Most of her films are unavailable now, but you can buy some of her old 40s radio shows on old tyme radio sites. It's worth a few dollars just to hear her sing "Good Night, Soldier," again.

  • Judy Canova is a Genius.

  • Judy made some wonderful films but for the most part they have just disappeared. Sis Hopkins is a funny and charming. I wish someone would get ahold of Republic's catalogue and release some of these treasures.

  • This song is from the movie Artists and Models. I recently watched the movie and OMG it was bizarre. This song was performed at a costume ball and everyone there except these three people were dressed in 14th cenntury french court costumes. I couldn't help thinking "What the????"
