Impressive meso and wall cloud. There was definately rotation and it looked like you were getting some inflow. Didn't catch the funnel. I did see a couple of scud clouds which are often confused with funnels because they sit low in the sky. We had an EF1 roll through our apartments on the 11th..tore up the neighborhood pretty bad - winds ~100mph. Got pretty intense when it sideswiped our building. Thought the carport was gonna come down on my car it was getting tossed so bad.
I'm very happy this storm didn't escalate into anything damaging. Sounds like you know your weather! I'm really not sure how I would have handled anything more fierce!
LOL, yeah, that was the first cell that was moving east. After I shot this, it formed another small funnel cloud in that same direction. This storm was nuts!
I know it's cool to see, but a real tornado would really suck!!
Haha, don't worry about the alarms or tornadoes. I'm originally from Oklahoma and have been lucky/unlucky enough to be in some of the world's worst tornadoes. You can get a lot closer to the tornado than that. One of the main things to watch out for is the lightning. My car was struck once while driving. They test the tornado alarms every day where I'm from. We all kind of get use to it. It is exciting, but you begin to respect them when you find half of airplanes in front yards... true story.
Well, to be fair, I have to admit it's really hard to resist. That's why I got into storm spotting, but after about ten years of it now, I'm much happier not seeing one.
Yeah, I'm not sure what I would have done if it would have progressed into a full on twister. We do have a cellar though. Can't help but to think of the "Wizard of Oz" lol
I'm in Southeast Colorado (La Junta). I always hear about AR and KS getting slammed by tornadoes every year. We get them about every other year it seems.
Amazing and very intimidating! I've only been in one small earthquake (while in Japan), but it was very interesting. I heard you guys had a pretty good shaker not too long ago!!

WOAH! Airplanes in yards, now that would be a sight! It was lightening pretty good up in the clouds and that's what kept me from getting on the roof.

I think in our storm spotting school run by the NWS, they would use this video as an example of what not to do. :D
It's still neat to see.

That was insane!!!
Don't apologize, as cool as it would be to capture a real tornado on video, it's good you din't have to face a dangerous situation!!!!
That was neat ...never saw anything like it....we don't get tornados in Eastern Canada!

Nice! Speaking of rooftops, during this video, I had access to a pretty high roof, but thought that might be pushing it!
