Not enough people know so im going to say it. Dior was also a great design but he himself had no issues with making clothing for SS officer and their wives, who admired him. His sister however was in the resistance in France...so really kind of a weird family. Chanel also had a relationship with an SS officer and lived very comfortably during French occupation. Not to mention Hugo Boss who designed Nazi uniforms from 1924- 1945.How quickly people forget this!!

Dior sent my Family his book "nummeroté"(with a number printed as limited edition on it). Dior was NOT against Kaltenbrunner(German SS,  Paris 1941). John Galliano

stands uniquely in the tradition of Dior. Orhers are often

Well galliano is dead in the fashion world now......an if you don't like the show just don't watch it or even comment on it......he's gone and wil NEVER design for this label or Dior....galliano= hatred/nazi.....and quit blaming the girls for asking him questions and LVMH for asking more of him.....for Christ's sake he has been doing this for about 15 yrs......he's gone and never coming back

@Codysmith3495 John Galliano will be remembered as a genius of fashion. He did not go anywhere, he is and will be. Bill is a man who just seized the moment to be a designer for a while. But his collections are awful. I'm sorry, but he chose a bad way to becoming a designer. People will not respect him. Never.

Ohh, the collection is bad itself, but this music makes it a PARODY of Galliano's fashion. I mean the beat at the beginning is even good, but the whole song by Leona Lewis is just tragic. John, please come back with your amazing fashion shows!!! :(

And to make this a galliano collection.......just make the hair& makeup more extreme and the hair as crazy as possible with a carnival like set and there you go....you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between bill and John......he's just a lot less extreme.....then John could of said" the inspiration was little dolls I've seen so I want to mirror that, as soon as I saw these beautiful dolls I though immediately that she was a galliano girl" and there you go a jallaino collection......

@LiLUautomne I do agree with you. Bill Gaytten is not in his place. Only John Galliano can be a designer of John Galliano, this is obvious. They were trapped. Who will buy these clothes? fans of Bill Gaytten? I do not know a single fan of him.

@Codysmith3495 I hope John will never work with LVMH any more. They knew that he was not the toughest guy around and that he had problems. Addiction is a very serious problem!!! He needed help. But they kept on demanding more and more and it ended that way. They are only interested in profit. And when the designer can not bring them profit, they throw him in the trash.

@Codysmith3495 I think that whole thing was exaggerated and the mass hatred was unbelievable. All necessary measure. Punishment beyond measure is a crime. John Galliano's been punished beyond measure, as a result, he lost everything and became a victim. Any further attempt at retribution is simply sadistic and accomplishes nothing.

Honestly, I'm really tired of everyone whose only one thing to share is a complaint about Galliano/Gaytten. I doubt over half of you even know enough about anything to open your mouth. Stop expecting the collection to be exactly like Galliano when it's a different designer. Come with an open mind and fresh eyes.

That said, Gaytten did quite a good job with the collection. Though not as flamboyant, some looks were beautiful, especially the later pieces. This is definitely an improvement.

@lumierelovely I agree! John is not coming back anytime soon and is probably the best thing for the long term viability of his lable. Although a return is most likely inevitable. I've been following JG since the 90's and haven't been paying attention in recent years because it began to feel tired. I miss the Galliano of the 90's. This collection is beautiful and wearable. The sheer bias cut dresses at the end are a Galliano trademark. Things may never be the same, but that's life.

Yeah i understand it is not as Avant Garde as John Galliano would have had his collection, but if you look at the Pros... Bill has made the line more wearable while still keeping the line a tad dramatic. i personally love the collection and give Gaytten Credit for what his has created.

I think, compared to the Dior Show, Gaytten is more comfy with this collection. I saw some Galliano-esque renderings but i miss the concept, the story and the mystery. I felt here, it was just about clothes and trying to evoke the Galliano heritage. it would be tough to keep galliano without its namesake designer.
