Here's an idea for this. Contact manufacturers of popular trims and offer the product on popular trim models. This way it can match the trim because I don't see someone filling their entire house with this but maybe putting it on the wall on the entertainment room. Just an idea hope this makes it because it's awesome!
Wiremold cannot take the wires in anywhere and out anywhere. Also it is plastic and mine is mdf board. Once you cut wiremold for your situation it cant be changed where with hideaway trim you can remove you setup and redo it with a different setup without having to change anything
I want! I currently have my cat6 100 tacked up the corner and running along the ceiling at the wall to my router on the other side of my house just so I can use the 10/100/1000 ability of my ps3, router and media server since WiFi lags after going through 7 walls
There's demand for this good sir. What the companies aren't able to find is profitability. Why spend as much as hundreds of dollars in wire-hiding crap when you just need to put in new floor trim? plus it looks as easy to hide the wires as it does to remove them. My biggest beef is in the REMOVAL part!
If there's a way to add some style to this product while retaining its intended function as a wire hider, I think that would help sell it.
As a former cable TV installer and lifetime computer geek, this product would help the customers of cable and satellite tv companies quite a bit. In a world where everything seems to be going wireless, there is still a need to get the cable from outside of the house and into the cable / satellite box. Being able to run your coaxial cable the length of a wall and keep it hidden is something many homeowners could use.
There is a demand for this... and I'd suggest contacting This Old House- they are always looking for the most clever and modern upgrades available, and I believe this falls in that category. They might be looking for something further along in the development process, but it can't hurt to ask and make some positive connections with them.
I think that 8' lengths is not going to appeal to most consumers as most people need a longer run of trim than 8'. I think 16' would be more of an ideal length as that's what most trim is sold in. If you have a 14' run your not going to want a splice in trim right in the middle of your wall. Also I would almost guarantee that electronic stores like best buy would jump on this to sell with installation packages.
The reason you should consider different lengths is because very rarely does someone only need a 8' run of trim. Most trim comes 16'. With only 8' you would have splice the trim in the middle of the wall and it wouldnt look right. Also you should try marketing this to electronic retailers such as best buy, ultimate electronics, the soundroom. Also maybe go after some smaller lumber retailers like Hackmann lumber to get started. This is a very good looking product and I would purchase it for my
Very nice looking product. But. I do have some concerns. First, if you can find a trim company that will produce it, you need to look into trying to match existing profiles of base trims and sizes that are already out there. That way the consumer can put your product where they need it and not have to re trim their entire home. Second you should discuss how and if the the product can be cut and if it needs a special blade or not. The last thing I think you might wanna take a look at is the leng
@moparmike4108 I can match almost any profile with it but it does need to be a little thicker to hold the wires. It comes in 8' section like all trim. Thanks for your interest
@ScottCooper136 I have a design for around door jambs, up in corners and crown molding for surround sound speakers. Thanks so much for your interest and suggestions.
Wow, that's actually a really cool idea! I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but that sounds great. Maybe the only reason I could see it not selling much is because I feel the majority of people are too lazy to change their trim haha.
Would probably be great for new construction and office buildings. The crown molding for surround would be a great seller to existing homeowners. IMO there would most definitely be a market for this.
I love the Idea! I agree with the other comments that I wouldn't want to go ripping up all the trim in my house to replace it with your trim. But I definitely think it is a great idea and I would absolutely love it if it was in a house that I planned on buying.
Very nice. I would definitely like a home with this... but like someone else said, I don't know if I would rip up all my existing trim to install it. However, I probably would when upgrading or adding a home theater to my home. You should definitely be contacting new construction businesses and don't forget about electronic stores that provide custom home theater installation and such.
I see this being useful in new construction but I wouldn't rip all the trim out of my house and replace it. I already have a similar product in my home where the wires go behind my trim in my basement and the trim pops in and out of a track as necessary to add or remove wires.
Home Building companies like Rennar or DR Horton need to know about this too. If this trim could go into their new units, it could be a talking point for sale!
seems like a good Idea for new construction or renos, I wouldn't replace what I have for the benefit they give so In my opinion there should be some market if the manufacturer can make everyone aware of the product

Very simple, yet amazingly effective product. You don't need complex things for an invention to be great. Kudos to you, KindredSaint.

I'd buy this in a heartbeat, as a PET OWNER. My cats love gnawing on cords, and it drives me nuts. Try marketing to pet supply stores, too!
