i have an IRN myself but he is green with a thick visible ringneck.

i was wondering if urs is really a male coz only males get ringnecks & females have very light or none at all. IRNs get a ringneck well within 1 and a half years of age or atmost take 2 years. i figured urs is 2 year old but based on its voice & cuteness i'm guessing its a female. anyways, she is tooooo cute. i love her.

btw, mine is 16 years old & acts like a baby .

i have the same bird (same colour too), but i found out you cant find the sex of the bird until it is 2 years or you can get a DNA test, how did you find out the sex of your bird. Did your bird's ring grow in? if so when.

I can't find an average cost of them anywhere online. Also they don't sell them where I live in the pet stores so yeah.. Lol. I kinda wanna get one but that all depends on the cost.

I had Louie's DNA tested @ 3mths old & it came back as a boy, by 6mths he had a pale pink ring by 1 yr & after his 1st molting his bright red ring came in(a boy). Libby my girl is 2 we had her DNA tested, it came back girl & she has no ring. I guess each bird can mature differently & my Louie matured hid color early. ps. would love to see new videos of Chico or Chica, LOL

Only if you take care of it well, and just for the record, if you want a loyal bird, get a female. Females are more loyal to their owners than males, and NO THIS IS NOT A MYTH. I'm not saying females are better though, both sexes make great pets! but it's your choice.

Come see my Louie, he's a Lutino like your Chico but I have to disagree, Louie is the most loyal baby anyone could ever dream of. I also feel & have heard from other female IRN parents that females are more nippy. My Libby is nippy but she had a rough start & she's going to be a lovey, too, I have faith. But please don't try & sway someone away from a males till you have met my Louie. LOL Gotta love them all!!
