Man, with a shape manipulator and a vocoder you can make a shotgun blast sound like a harpsicord
You can also take "brown noice" and turn it into a piano...what has that to with anything?
I use to play in a band where my drums were triggerd. Just so we could have a diffrent sounds in everysong. Its fun to play with sounds!

And they didn't make them, they just used some free samples from a overrated sequence program

I hate the fact that more and more bands are using playback-tracks live. Much cooler to have like 15 people on stage acctually making the sounds (like an orchestra or something)
I must agree but bands that aren't so big wouldn't make money if they toured with full orchestras
