This is my favourite class. I don't like just to hide with a soldier and shoot stuff with overkill ability,its boring. It's much more fun to run around your enemies and use powers similar to the force powers from star wars :D and then just shoot them with a shotgun in the face.

I am half way through ME2 playing as a soldier on Insanity and am really enjoying it. I played ME1 as a Vanguard and am going to import this character through to ME2. Reading the comments it seems players prefer some classes over others which other players disagree with. For me this is why this game is so immense as there is a class for everyone's style. Let me know which class u think I should play as and why?

@SwankTriball11 My favorite is Sentinel. It's a Jack of all trades class that can do about anything. It made Insanity easy as hell. I literally only died about 4 times in the whole game, 2 of which were on Garrus's mission where you have to close the shutters downstairs. Soldier is really a pretty weak class. It only pretty much there for the gun nuts.

Having played through insanity 4 times I can definitely say that vanguard is the most "survivor" type in the game....

You simple can't beat a champion heavy charger with unlocked rifle...

Soldier and adept were no special.... and no fun...

Vanguard can be fun to play even on insanity though...

Finally the definitely most challenging of all so far for me was the infiltrator....

It's just insane on insanity.

I haven't played as sentinel though, but playing two weeks straight I need a life first

@TrickyNekro Well as someone who just started playing a sentinel. My honest first opinion? I tried it on veteran. Not too hard, not too easy. Right? Well...That class is fucking ridiculous! Try it! :D You get Insane tech and biotics. You get Warp, Throw, Cryo Blast, Overload, Defender, and Tech Armor. For my bonus power I chose AP ammo. So yeah...factor in your AR/Sniper rifle training On the Collector ship? And Bam. You can take down anything...Pretty smoothly LOL. I played a solider prior FYI.

You know if the sentinel had biotic charge it would be a good ability. With the Tech armor ability you could be like a charging bomb.

@Alicelovesblack If the sentinel could use biotic charge it would just rape. It would kinda take the fun out of it in my opinion. You'd just charge in with tech armor and be barely phased by enemy fire, then pown them with your awesome abilities. Rinss. Repeat.

@goldenbulletwolf666 it depends on what speed you want to play during combat. if you want fast paced action, go vanguard, nothing but charging and shotguns to the face and fast thinking before your shield goes down. if you want a slower paced fight, go adept. it's like the other classes which is take cover, power/gun, repeat. combining powers is fun though but slower paced.

Best class in ME2 imo. A special skill (charge) that is extremely strong and realy makes sense regarding the combat style of the vanguard. Additionally a good selection of biotic powers. It's just loads of fun.

I just started playing ME2 and i have no idea what is going on with the ME1, and I started to play all the class that had in the game, but when i play Vanguard class it piss me off how i all way got kill in the combat, cuz i'm keep running into a bunch of enemy, but after i got up to lv 19 and max out most of the skill and try to play the game with insanity mode and it work out really great beat the final boss in 15 second. from my point of view Vanguard class are the best

My strategy is to first send Grunt straight at the enemy (Using Q or E), then, when he has all the enemies shooting at him, I use Mordins Area Incinerate to take out armour (Or Miranda if they have shields ((Area Warp)), then I use mass Pull and charge in. Really Fun! :D This is done on Insanity ofc. :)

They screwed up Vangaurds big time in ME2, in ME1 my Vangaurd had lots of useful abilities like Lift, Throw, Warp and most importantly Barrier, but in ME2, the only useful skill was lift, charge was pointless cause it just didn't suit my playing style 1 bit and I barely used shockwave except on husks. And on top of that, Barrier was only available through advanced training, are you fking kidding me?

Overall, ME1 was the best game I've ever played in my life, ME2 was really a disappointment....

The only game I have ever played than actually employed tactics was Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

Everyone complained it was to hard, and subsequently quit playing - which shows exactly what everyone's reaction would be when they are actually called on to perform a tactic.

This shows that people like to believe they are performing tactics when they are not.
