We have to remember that it's not just about being energy independant, but also how our energy use effects the environment. To think anyone can accurately tell us how many cars in America are driving around with under inflated tires is amazing.

Exactly. Tire pressure alone will NOT do more than what McCains entire plan will. There are 200 billion barrels of oil just in North Dakota. That is enough to make the US oil independant for over 300 years, at todays usage. OBama has no plans on touching it and we are at least 2 decades away from realistic alternative fuel sources.
So while Obama is talking about saving 3% by inflating tires when the averagae American wastes 30-60% by stupid driving......enough said.

What Obama is pointing out here in terms of deception and dishonesty and viciousness on the part of the McCain camp has been common practice for them.
