Here's the name and number of a Wizard who may return you to Kansas. Follow the Yellow Brick Road. Please see him, Dorothy. He's a good man, and thorough.
I dunno, this was obviously modeled on the trailer for Burn After Reading, but I don't really think it had anything distinctly Coen-esque about it. They have a pretty distinct style, and while the bright colors and quirky characters of The Wizard of Oz MIGHT fit with that, I wasn't convinced here.
Sorry, that didn't really work IMHO. The Coen Brothers aren't exactly Quentin Tarantino, you can't give a trailer a hip soundtrack and write it off as a 'coen-esque' pastiche...
Meh. I think this one employed too many of the most famous lines. Also, more dark scenes, and B&W should have been in there, as most of the Coen Brothers films involve some deeply fucked up story lines, that appear funny through the character development.
This trailer makes Wizard of Oz look like a completely different movie! Honestly, I would rather see your "version" than the real thing! Its funny because it actually seems like it would make a great Coen Brother's movie!
i must say this was one grew on me, at first the song was a bit jarring, but in the end it works, not sure i see too much coens in it, your fellowship mix is more effective, but i still got a kick out of this one.
@jdustin89 I'd only swap buscemi for John Turturro as the Scarecrow, and add, say, Zooey Deschanel as Dorothy (never worked with the coens, but she sure has some potential)... Perhapes Stephen Root as the Oz doorman, who knows!
Chloë Moretz as Dorothy
John Turturro as the Wicked Witch of the West
Bruce Campbell as the Gatekeeper
Albert Finney as the Wizard
Frances McDormand as Auntie Em
Stephen Root as the Mayor of Munchkinville

@waterspout8 NO. Nicholas Cage, Javier Bardem or Jeff Bridges as Dorothy.

The Coen brothers did an awesome job on the remake of True Grit. I wonder how it would turn out if they remade The Wizard of Oz in their vision.
