Sable is the name used to define that specific colouring of ferret, but it is also the name of this animal (which is related to ferrets, of course!). I think they are properly called Sable Martens, but I could be wrong...

i think there is more fur farming than hunting now, and it isnt just these animals, ferrets too in some places have been farmed for fur, which i would have thought pointless, as it would be alot of work to clean the fur of the smell... but where there is money someone will do it.
