  • You might want to get a new recoil spring.... Duh! You know parts do wear on a gun...

  • taurus makes a decent revolver, but not a semi auto

  • Does his husband know he's out doing man things?

  • second guy does not know a fire arm from his asshole. As stated before and like my father says: 1911s are for men. If you hold a Wilson Combat like a pussy of course its going to jam. Learn how to handle it like you've got something in your sack and it won't jam.

  • You get an "A" for effort, but i personally am NOT into your montage. The in the truck, on the truck, under the truck action is best left for porn flicks. Anyhow, what I really wanted to emphasize was that your buddies gun handling/clearing methods are extremely dangerous and scary to watch.

  • The mags suck. I put my buddies colt mag in mine and it performed ok. Still not as crip as a colt or kimber. But half the price.

  • Your extractor is toast. Order a new one. I suggest a Bulletproof Wilson Combat style one. Use the Series 80 style that has the cutouts for the firing pin block. Put a new one in it. It isn't hard.

  • Had a buddy have his new, stainless steel pt1911 shear an extractor. I keep reading about other problems that're similar... I purchased a regent r200s and it's flawless. no taurus for me.

  • I just picked one up today. I will admit the very first round I loaded in it did not feed properly. I put 100 rounds through it and had one FTF and one FTE. Granted it was right out of the box and hadn't been lubed and cleaned....and I was limp wristing it.

  • I had a bullet lodge in the barrel after firing and the brass didnt eject. Coulda been dangerous to me.

  • This was me exactly today.

  • Seriously, you must be a 9mm fanboy. First, what is your occupation? All those high speed under the car shooting moves show me your a complete fag. And the other comments were right, learn how to use the gun. I have one and have put countless rounds through it. Its a .45, not a glock.

  • I have this gun and have over 500 rounds through it without one FTE or FTF. Your buddy's limp wristed, shitty grasp is to blame.

  • Narrow-minded Review.

A slight extractor adjustment would fix your issue. Even a Porsche can have issues, Its whether you are intelligent enough to identify the issue and resolve it.

  • You cant keep a shotgun in your sock drawer.

  • Just sent mine back for the second time because of broken extractors. Fired remington 230 colt auto and federal 230 colt auto. No high powered loads, no reloads. 165 rounds into my stress test after first repair, Damn extractor broke again.

  • I got my pt1911 about a years and a half ago and when I first recieved it it had a light firing problem where the firing pin wasn't hitting the primer on the bullets hard enough to make it ignite which is obviously just a manufacturers error. I sent it in and got it back a month later fixed and now it shoots fine I have put a thousand rounds through it and haven't had any problems. I consider it to be a very reliable gun when all the parts are fully functional. I recommend sending it in.

  • Change the magazine.Mine jammed a lot till I bought good name mag.Over a thousand rounds with new mag,no failures. The Taurus mags suck!

  • Douche nozzel LOL

  • Ive never had a problem with mines nor has my dad or uncle we put about 3000 rounds through each of them i don't know what you do to your gun but its definable not right

  • "do it fast like you're a badass" yeah or learn to use a firearm first.

  • I have the exact same 1911 and I did have some huge problems with mine. I had to go buy 500 grit sand paper and re polish the guide ramp but after i did that I was still having failure to feed so I replaced the crappy mags that came with it with a kimber mag my problems quit right after that. One thing that didnt look right with your gun was possibly a bad ejector or a bad recoil spring but its hard telling without looking at the gun myself. Sorry about your unlucky experience though.

  • With that said good review. Quality guns should not malfunction. Ever now and ten it happens but when it happens 4 times within one mag there is a problem. And it has nothing to do with "limp wrist". Guns should fire. That's the point of them.

  • @GreyElitist Shitty grip can definitely cause a gun to jam. It alters the momentum of the slide through the frame. The slide won't be able to do it's job if it runs out of momentum, thus causing the gun to jam. Guns should fire if they're used correctly.

  • I like how that kid keeps putting his hand in front of the barrel at the end of the video when it's jamming. Great way to lose a finger. Front serration's are dumb. Keep your hand away front the barrel.

  • hey i think that its not the pistol but maybe the extractor or watever pulls the empty cartridge out of the chamber...it seems like thts not catching hope it helps :P

  • Wristing* damn iPad autocorrect..

  • Not to repeat what the others have stated, but I think limp writing it is a lot of the problem. I won't go as far as saying it doesn't have it's issues, but he needs to bare down on that weapon. With that being said, how did it function for the larger individual? If it is having issues be patient and send it to Taurus, they will take care of you. I have seen cheap 1911's perform flawless, and I have owned a kimber that I absolutely despised of. Sometimes you just get a lemon...

  • I'm having the exact same problem with my Taurus Millennium Pro PT-145. I was hoping it was just some bad ammunition, but your video is very discouraging. I was shooting some Winchester 230 grain JHP and my shit mis-fed every 1-3 first round of a full clip. It happened with every single fucking clip. I am now thinking about selling this piece of shit. I'll just have to buckle down and spend the extra $250 for a Glock 30. Fuck Taurus.

Taurus PT-145, Stainless, $300, I'm in GA. Hit me up.

  • and here I thought about buying one of these cause its like over 200 cheaper than the Springfield. think ill just spend the extra money now. I'm assuming the guy at the beginning not having the problems is basicalky the edited version of the few times it worked ok. wonder how many takes that took.

  • wierd how the guy in the beginning has zero malfunctions and the smaller guy has them every shot, im not an expert but just by looking at the video it looks like the really weak grip might be a problem. Ive usually heard bad things about taurus but this 1911 seems to be well liked by mmost people, ive held it and to me it feels as solid and better than some of the 1000 dollar ones

  • Funny how you seem to be the only one having problems with it. Mine is as reliable as any other 1911 and built quite a bit better. Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one.

  • send it in and they will be happy to fix it there CS is great.

  • How is their customer service?

  • If you buy a pistol brand new and it causes problems, like the ones in this video, it's going to be upsetting. Limp wristing or not, a new pistol shouldn't malfunction as much as this one did. Iv'e been a shooter for 30 years and when I purchased my first pistols I bought a few that were complete crap. Videos like this are meant to warn us of potential problems and I appreciate them. Lets face the facts: Taurus has a rotten reputation with many of their firearms.

  • @cpzimmon I agree, I want to see the good as well as the bad

  • When you fire a weapon like you are scared of it, of course it will jam, double feed or stove pipe. Handguns are meant to be "MAN" handled, not limp wristed. That could happen to a 2k pistol or a 5hunskie one. Enjoy.

  • sometimes we get what we pay for.

  • i used winchester 230 gr... it burns sooooo dirty. those rounds have been the only 100 rounds of factory ammo through my taurus

  • I own one and I also have a kimber. I bought mine less than a week ago I took it to the range today I fired over 200 rds. Not a single malfunction Functioned perfect. Several mags of ammo all went through the same hole printing great groups there are few very minor improvements im going to make but mostly personal preference but the function is great. The taurus shoots as good as my kimber pro c. I shoot alot and own have owned many semi auto hand guns I would highly recomend it to any one

  • Limp Wrist & Crappy mags = Double Feed.

  • Almost acting like you're missing the slide release plunger. I bought mine second hand and it did the same thing

  • The guy at 5:06 needs more training.

  • The double feed problem is the mags suck and the failure to extract is operator error .45 cal and limp wrists are not a good combo you and your shooter are tools

  • I have a PT1911 and completely love it. I have not experienced any fail to feed or extraction problems at all. By the way my preferred ammo is the cheapest steel cased Tula I can find. If it were going to malfunction, it would with that.

  • Try using different mags instead of the ones that cone with it. Poor mags equal jams like a motherfucker.

  • now do you think it may preform better in the 40 or 9mm? im looking to to getting one, but i dont want problems, thanks for the great vid by the way

  • Thanks for the honest review. I was actually coveting one of these 1911 before, not ANYMORE!

  • I noticed the shooter in the later part of this vid doesnt have a good grip of the gun. The result will always be a 100% JAM & will always be in any 1911 platforms. 1911s are not for those who do not understand 1911s especially in .45 cal. 1911s need respect or it will not respect you. In other words, if you have a loose grip, it will JAM. Grip him well & it will shoot well. Btw, the kid needs to be trained n FIREARMS SAFETY before shooting any 1911s of else 1 or 2 of his fingers will go flying.

  • I bought my Taurus PT1911 2 yrs ago and i used reloaded ammo from the start & up until now. I cleaned my gun before but after 1,000 rounds using reloaded ammo i stopped cleaning its internals. I just oiled the rail and most importantly the external. Trust me it will rust 1 week after shooting it. I'm in 6,000 rounds & still the gun works perfect. I now uses hot load (++p) after 1,000 mark because I wanted to destroy my gun especially the extractor. But Im frustrated bcoz the gun still works.

  • @codyshann hahah nice

  • Well folks, I got a "dudd" also. got it a week ago, fully cleaned it oiled it. out of the box. also did not play with it like a christmas present. got 4 different brands of ammo from mid range $22-$17 230gr ball ammo, Federal, Remmington GW box, Blazer Brass and independence? well first clip FTE's every shot. 2nd'n clip basicly every shot, WTF right brandnew never fired. like anybody let your buddy give a few shots same shit. After Chip Mccormick mag comes in and still FTE its geting fixed

  • @Bluez35th Well FOUND OUT WHAT BROKE.. 1st ever round into the chamber broke the extractor Item 1.8 in book. now i got a $678 paperweight

  • @Bluez35th Taurus has a lifetime warranty

  • @DylanRabon Yeah, I used it. Had the part orderd to my dealer. But still after 1 round I had to wait 10days for a part of a brandnew gun

  • @Bluez35th Oh sorry I misunderstood what you meant

  • Man, you must have a dudd.

Have seen plenty with no problems.

Its made to high tolerance. So off course you have to keep it clean.

    or it will misfeed.

  • You get what you pay for, simple as that. Have you called Taurus? Explain to them what's happening, and I'm sure they'll take it back and try to fix it. They took my PT 1911 9mm back, it jammed a lot out of the box, after 500 rounds. Sent it in, they replaced a couple things, and it works great! For a .45, buy a Kimber, Springfield, or Ruger (if you can find one). I have a Custom II Kimber and Ruger SR 1911 - both are awesome but the Kimber takes the cake.

  • Also have problems with mine-failure to eject. It keeps getting caught in the ejection port window. Last time with it at the range, the damn magazine got stuck inside, and the L.E. Cadre who work the range told me that my gun is dangerous, and is banned from returning until I have proof of repair! I'm going to send it back under warranty. Fingers crossed!

  • i have a stainless steal one and so far 600 rounds through it with zero problems

  • I own a taurus pt1911 and have had nothing but smooth feeding and reliable extraction experiences with it. In fact I am so pleased with it that I use it for my CCW. Most 1911s, because they don't have a 1 piece feed ramp will jam with any ammo other than FMJ, but I have fired multiple kinds of JHP ammo through mine without any problems. As others have mentioned a double feed is a magazine issue not a gun issue. On the video at the end, the shooter appears very inept, limpwristing will cause jams

  • Before you do a review on a gun, its best to actually have someone who isn't inept shoot it. I mean really, first thing, take your finger off the trigger. You call Nutnfancy a douche nozzle, at least he can shoot a gun, clear a jam, and give a real review.

  • The most piss-poor pistol handling I have ever seen!

  • That was some poor weapon handling. First of all, double feed's are a magazine issue. Try different magazines. (BTW, lock the slide back, drop the mag, insert mag. That's how you clear a double feed. You're doing it wrong.) The failure to extract, in this case, looked like poor shooting. You can't limp wrist it and expect it to cycle properly. Bad review.

  • you suck

  • Also please re-orient yourself in the proper clearing proceedures because watching this drives me crazy. Not once did you properly instruct your friend to lock the slide to the rear before doing anything else. First step in clearing a malfunciton other than a stovepipe is locking the bolt to the rear. Please! Sorry you had problems with the Taurus. I'm not impatiral since I have had two and both of them gave me problems. I'd rather spend a little more and get a better product.

  • please teach that poor fell how to rack a slide properly before he shoots himself..

  • its funny that he fired so many rounds through it first....

  • I'm surprised you had such problems with it. I've used mine for over a year and ran all kinds of ammo through it and mine hasn't malfunctioned once.

  • every firearms manufacture will produce a lemon occasionally its the same with everything,

  • Hey Shawner teach your buddy how to shoot and properly hold a pistol before he blows a 45acp hole in his freakin hand. You only shot the weapon and trashed it's quality before you sent it back on it's LIFETIME WARRANTY so dont be so critical..you didnt give Taurus USA a chance to redeem themselves...I have 3 Taurus pistols. I love them all!

  • My pt 1911 is great out of the box and dirty. A 1911 is a piece of history. Ammo is not bad either 19.00 a box. Get a job if that's to much buy a 22 .

  • Sucks yours didnt work my 1911 taurus is a tac driver..And this was my fourth Taurus.. It has the knock power for home protection. All guns are man made I know guys with problems with kimber. I shoot Taurus 3x as much asmy springfeild 1911. Just that guns needs a little work good luck in your search. Buy this 1911 Great gun one of my everyday carry! Good cost 1911 for the money .

  • um in this video, it shoots all the time. what gives? hell you could sell it to me...

  • Wait, you're going to show us a video of you tearing it up with the PT1911, then tell is "it's a bad gun to carry cuz it doesn't work." "it's a bad gun to shoot because .45 is expensive" <wtf does that even have to do with the gun... and THEN you show us a video of some fucking n00bie who appears to never have handled a handgun limp wristing a 1911, which guarantees to jam every time if you limp wrist? You suck. What made you think you're some how in any way qualified to review guns?

  • not only is there one douche that dosent know how to use a gun, but wait till the end and watch his lackie have to get walked through how to rack a slide four times. instead of slamming a gun that is probably a victim of poor quality control, send it back and get a new one for free, or fixed for free. i own a pt1911, this gun is a steal for the price, and just as accurate and reliable as 1911s 4 times the cost. you guys should try blowing down the barrel and pulling the trigger, see if it works

  • Send it in for warranty repair it might take a month or so but they will fix it. This stuff happens no quality control is 100%. Mine has seen over 1500 rounds from expensive bonded hollow points to tula steel cased ammo. Its ran mec-gar, cmc, and stock mags. Without a single malfunction. I've also ran over 4000 rounds with a ciener .22 conversion on the frame. $200 conversion kit using the same trigger pull and gun ergonomics. Cheap and useful practice at about 3 cents a round.

  • Laughable. My son and I both have Taurus PT1911's and have never had any jams. Fired more than 2,000 rnds of reloads plus hundreds of full-power rounds such as Speer Gold Dot, Remington Golden Saber, Corbon DPX, Federal Hydra-Shok and Glaser Powr Ball. Rapid-fire, double and triple taps, etc, etc. Extremely accurate and impressive at the range. NO MODIFICATIONS. You must have gotten a lemon.

  • I really dislike leaving negative comments, so I'll just say this. Sending the gun in, checking forums and smoothing burrs, trying additional ammo types and loads, and using a proper overlapping grip should help. 1911's can be very finicky, and buying one expecting it to always feed like a 9mm is just unrealistic. I'm not experienced with the Taurus version, but even more expensive models can have the issues you experienced.

  • sounds like you dont know shit about this gun. all you need to do is have the feed ramp filed down. the edge of the casings catch on the sharp edge of the factory feed ramp

  • I was considering the Taurus or the Citadel (1911) but after seeing this vid I got the Citadel and so far I’m very happy 100 dollars less than the Taurus and I haven’t seen or heard anything negative about Citadel/rock Island.

  • Peculiar how it works so well in the beginning. I've heard mixed reviews about the pt1911. Most reviews have been positive. It may help a little if you don't you shitty ammo and hold your gun like you have some sort of clue what your doing. Maybe .45 acp is too big for you. Most likely you don't know how to hold your pistol. My girlfriend shoots a 1911 just fine. Possibly because she doesn't hold it like that.

  • The only thing not good about this review is the shooter. Seriously, don't shoot a handgun if you're not going to bother holding it the right way :/

  • I have one and shoot the hell out of it. Send it back. It comes with a life time guarantee.

  • I remember my first time shooting a gun.

  • YEA I HEARD THE FACTORY MAGS FOR THE PT1911 ARE BAD ... TRY DIFFERENT MAGS, BECAUSE I DOUBT IT'S THE GUN ...

  • wow tell the guy in the end if u look an sound gay u r going to shoot gay ill take my wife heads up with ur boy an she will make him her bitch gets some balls guy

  • I'm not trying to be an ass, but that guy needs to practice clearing jams. If it's a stovepipe just rack the slide (from the rear serration). If it's a double feed, drop the mag and rack it; then reload. I'm sorry the gun didn't work out for you; I've been through that same frustration, but I got my problem repaired. Did you send it in for warranty repair? They have a lifetime warranty as I recall.

  • Try different mags other than factory?

  • I am seriously not trying to troll here but put someone behind the gun who has some balls and you won't have the jamming problem. The guy at the end: his wrist buckled every time he fired. Stop that and you'll lose the jamming. Like at the beginning - you held and fired the gun like you got a pair. Unless you edited it out I didn't see any jamming.

  • That guy at the end needs to look at Clint Smiths vids (the guy from Thunder Ranch) on how to fix a jam..hes going to really mess up his fingers one of these days.

  • The 1911 is my favorite pistol and I carry it every day, but most people don't realize what it really is. The 1911 is almost a living, breathing firearm that requires constant maintenance and double-checking to ensure all is okay (more than other guns in general). It was designed in an age without CAD programs and computer technology, it's an amazingly reliable pistol if done right. Taurus, IMO, doesn't "do it right." Nice set of training though, good scenarios and positions.

  • Take a 1911 armorer's course and you'll realize what the pros know about Taurus 1911s. Take a gauge to it to check the specs on all the parts and you'll cry. Stay away from Taurus 1911s. I don't want to get into a brand war with keyboard commandos, but I will tell you that some brands are far better than others. Bottom line: buy the amount of gun you can afford, but sometimes you might want to wait and save up for something that you can use.

  • Wow this gun does really suck. My buddy bought one and the exact same thing happened to his. After 500 rounds the ejecter broke. What do you do when there are no more uses for your gun? Feed it to someone! This gun sucks Balls!

  • wow i agree with the limp wrist, you can buy a made in italy beretta and it will also jam every round if you hold it like your boyfriends dick

  • i have put over 500 rounds through mine firing from different positions, with different types of ammo, and i havent had a single jam. its just you.

  • Wow, seriously unsafe gun handling :(. All firearms are subject to having problems but im not taking advice from anyone with Space Ghost wrist bands.

  • Should be titled how not to fire a .45 acp. As others have said problem is wit the shooter not the gun. Hold the gun firmly and it will cycle properly.

  • Bought one of these, I own several Kimbers, few mil spec Springfield and a PT1911. The PT1911 ARE junk. As a gun salesman, We send more Taurus back to the manufacturer than any other handgun on the market. Well done, although, could have done without your fancy entrance haha.. nice review though

  • Comment removed

  • I wished I had seen your video being honest about this pistol, BECAUSE based on all the hype I read and heard in other reviews I went and bought one of these and it is really crap! I have never seen such bogus machine work and fitting in my life. I have worked with stainless steel, welding and machining it, for years and this pistol has the worst manufacturing I have ever seen. I can't even take it completely apart because of hidden burrs keeping things from coming apart. Junk! Waste of money.

  • I can't believe the dude at the end still has all his fingers!

  • Why are you even readjusting your hand so damn much? This gun has almost no kick compared to other .45s I have shot. Hell if you can't handle the kick get one with an AR on it to weigh down the front a little more. My PT1911 with AR works great, never a jam, misfire, delayed feed....nothing. My father in law has one as well, also works perfect and he has cleaned his with over 1500 rounds going through it. The only problem i had was I had to adjust the sights as they were slightly off.

  • What a waste of sperm limp wristing will jam any gun

  • ya know that Taurus comes with a life time warranty of the fire arm. plus there clips are crap. just buy some extra clips and ya'll be fine.

  • @jacobcoxwell10 Yes, I know, go to hell. The Taurus doesn't use a clip, it uses a magazine. My Taurus puked out the guide rod on the very first shot. It took me three months to get a $7 replacement part for the damn thing.

  • user error.

  • Also why would your buddy in the beginning have such good luck with the gun but then as soon as you start shooting it there are problems? should tell you something man. Just work on your grip and i think you should be fine with that pistol. From everything ive heard these are GREAT guns for the price. I was looking at a used Springfield 1911 and a para 1911 and my buddy at the shop told me i would be better off with this gun brand new. AND it was cheaper and the trigger felt 10X better.

  • I hope people like me who are researching reviews on here because they are thinking about buying this gun have a little knowledge of shooting pistols. Because before i even read the comments after watching the video i knew the problem. I have never seen anyone shoot so limp wristedly (i know thats improper grammar). Not bashing you but all you gotta do is stop anticipating the kick of the pistol and hold your right hand firmly with your left. Every shot you take your left hand flops away.

  • Firstly, Don't use crappy ammo. Also- you either over oiled or under oiled it. Most likely. you over oiled the gun. Don't bash a weapon because you don't know how to properly maintain it. I personally put over 500 rounds through 2 of them at the same sitting after I cleaned them correctly. The other guys are correct, hold the gun and fire it like a man. Tell your douchebag friend firing it not to pull the slide with his hand over the f'ing slide. Why didn't you tell him that stupid? You r stupid

  • Your boy was limp wristing the gun. The turn over is quick and if limp wristed, the gun will not eject the used casing.

  • lol..i love how people are quick to put this gun down and bring up "Springer" ive had this gun since it hit the market with hundreds of rounds through it, detail striped and reassembled about 10 times and duracoated it and it has had only one failure to feed and that was the first day i had it and it was because i assisted the slide foward for some reason dont ask why... but other than that its been flawless. people forget that all guns and brands will have problems

  • The problem is the way he's limp wristing it.

  • Hi ;; The pistol is not ejecting the shells..Take the ejector out of the gun and inspect the part of the ejector that grabs the rim of the shell..If it is not a sharp hook..Buy a quality ejector and install it..good luck

  • 5:05 maybe you should PUT ON YOUR MAN HANDS stop holding it like a girl and control the gun an its recoil, and maybe you would have less problems! noob!

  • You must have had an early model from Taurus. 2006 maybe? I bought mine in 2009 and it's been fantastic. The only time it malfuntioned was when I first shot it. My gunsmith told me it was due to my new magazines. Brand new Taurus mags will fail to feed or double feed as seen in the video. After I put 24 rounds through each one, I've never had a malfuntion since and I've put more than a thousand rounds through it. It's my concealed carry and my duty pistol.

  • Maybe it didn't work correctly because it needs to be cleaned and have a better mag like chip or wilson

  • gotta agree with the others. No offense, but this is operator error. You're limp wristing it. I saw you doing the SAME SHIT with you p30 review. Same grip with your left index flopping around on the front of the trigger guard. You're NOT holding on firmly to it. Maybe you can get away with that using some of the newer pistols, but the 1911 is made for MEN. Hold it like a fucking MAN.

  • The problem with Taurus firearms are their quality control can best be described as spotty.

  • the first Video montage was great because the shooter was good which made the gun cycle good. the last video montage where the RETARD shooter holding the gun limp wrist most of the time which caused the gun to jam.

  • send it back they have life time warranty

  • taurus is tight, get better than factory mags and the things are cosmoline packed so you have to take it all of the way apart and clean it before you use it, if you do then it will out perform colt and springfield no problem

  • TAURUS FUCKING BLOWS

  • Your friend looks like hes about to drop the gun after every shot... maybe hes recoil shy. Your opinions about the weapon not being a good target pistol due to ammo cost also has nothing to do with the performance of the gun, that's an irrelevant opinion. I've seen countless positive reviews on this gun, your is just the exception. Also, taurus offers a lifetime guarantee on the weapon, so instead of crying on youtube send it in to the company to have it checked out.

  • i own 1 and it hasn't jammed yet around 2k rounds and i can still hit at 100 yards. also you can always send it back to taurus for repairs and if u need to use it and it jams u can always hit him with it lol

  • Who is the idiot who is racking the slide with his finger on the trigger, limp-wristing, and racking the slide with his hand on the front of the barrrel? two words. GUN-SAFETY

  • I can see the problems with the shooting... And if you don't want it anymore, I'll be glad to take it off your hands.

  • Quit moving the freaking gun!!!

  • I dont have that Problem but I purchased a PT1911 SS AR ??? Looks and Sounds like its binding may need to deburr maybe the finish is binding up the rails? Send it back to Taurus I hear they stand behind there Guns.

  • who the hell uses out of the box magazines any way ? lol

  • Oh, and fix the limp wrist.

  • @TheRubberDuck139 I noticed that too. Flinching like crazy doesn't help either.

  • Continued part 3: Sounds like you just need to have some minor work done to it. I would find a gunsmith and have them run a Reliability Package on it, de-burr the weapon, and change the mags on it. As for mags, I run Wilson Combat. But there are many other great magazines out there. Also, change the ammo up, some 1911's are finicky about what they are fed. I understand that some feel that if they spend this kind of money on a gun it should work perfect all I can say is welcome to the 1911

  • @TheRubberDuck139 OK but why? Why should I spend my hard earned money on something that I need to have "minor work done to it" before it performs as it should. 1911's are tight until broken in except for my Kimber. I've had Springfields, Colts, Auto Ordnance's, and Kimbers and all fired well without this kind of issues. I will conceed that the Colts and Springfields were finiky at first but fired great after a couple hundred rounds.

  • Unless you get into the upper echelon of 1911's you will see these problems in some 1911. I have never seen a Springfield, S&W, Kimber, Taurus, etc. that could not stand a little time with a good gunsmith. I own several 1911s from different manufacturers and they have all had some minor problems right out of the box, be it failure to cycle, trigger creep, soft trigger, etc. But no matter how small or big the problem, I always upgrade to better parts in the trigger, barrel..... cont.

  • @TheRubberDuck139 Continued Part 2: I have had all my 1911s de-burred, reliability packages (whether it needed it or not), trigger job (w/upgraded parts including all springs, hammer, trigger, firing pin, etc.), Just because Taurus says the gun has had the feed ramp polished, does not mean it could not stand to have it done by hand. Now, maybe your 1911 has some more problems than others. That does not mean it does not work. Heck, your video looked good to me. Sounds like you...... Cont.

  • @TheRubberDuck139 I'll disagree with you on that. I have my Springfield 1911 that has been 100% with everything except some reloads.

  • @esh325 You are right bud. I to have had Springers that have been 100% out of the box. But like I stated "some 1911's" not all of them. But I am a perfectionist. But all 1911's, except for Ed Brown and other manufacturers that produce this level of gun, can use some fine tunning. Do they need it to function reliably? Not always. For example, I just bought another Springer that would not even cycle a round by hand. I had to do a ramp job on it to get it to function reliably.

  • @esh325 Its the attention to the finer details of the gun. Like the hammer. Is it heavy or a little more difficult than if you were to change out the hammer spring thus creating a lighter, smoother pull of the hammer (by Hand). Are the tolerances on the barrel bushing were they need to be? Does the trigger/action break like glass? Does the slide (by hand) operate smoothly or does it catch a bit? Are the internals de-burred? Is the ramp polished to a mirror finish?

  • @esh325 Is the trigger a 5-6lb pull or a 3lb pull with the right parts installed. Now, does all this need to be done to make a reliable gun? Not always. But I think you will agree on this. It does make the gun better. This attention to the finer details of the gun is what puts it on the level of Springfield Custom, Ed Brown, Wilson, etc. I know that not all of these things need to be done to the gun. But most will agree, that a light, clean, crisp trigger, a properly fitted barrel

  • @esh325 A properly fitted barrel bushing will overall improve the accuracy and the joy of shooting the weapon. I understand where you are coming from. But I still stand by what I said (unless upper echelon) all 1911's can stand some fine tunning. Now this does not mean one has to go out and buy all new parts for the gun. But if one will go in and polish the ramp, deburr the internals, and clean up the existing trigger, you will be surprised at what you now have.

  • I see your problem is with the shooter not the gun, glad neither one of you got shot as much as he had his finger on the trigger when clearing the gun. Since he likes to limp wrist the gun he should probably buy an HK45. You can limp wrist a USP45 and it will still function flawlessly. But, he can take a training class in proper gun handling and he shouldn't have any more problems with the Taurus. Lock that wrist! AND KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THAT TRIGGER!!!!!!

  • @HMRSMPSN69 dude, its quite obvious that the gun is having issues, failure to eject failure to feed. Its the extractor, no doubt about it. A brand new 30 dollar part would solve its problems. If the extractor isn't proper fitting or tuned right it won't eject casings out of the chamber and it won't feed rounds into the chamber.

Its a car with a flat tire, not a car with a blown engine.

  • its the magazines, i had the same problem. just get different after market magazines and you will have no problem. Our you could be using shitty ammo.

  • Hmmm.. Funny how it jams when your buddy is firing it. He is scared of it and not holding it firmly. His left hand is barely gripping the gun. BTW he will end up shooting himself in the hand or blow some fingers off cause he does not know the safe way to rack the slide. You dont rack a slide and curl your fingers in front of the barrel.

  • You seem to be the only one with problems. The 2 that I own has been flawless out of the box, it is a great conceal carry weapon and is superb for home defense. I love plinking with it as well. It is obvious by the other person shooting, his left hand is barely even on the weapon causing it to jam. Very poor attempt at making the PT1911 look bad

  • you need to teach your gay friend to hold the gun like a man, his weak side hand wasnt supporting anything! he also looked scared of it lol.

  • Wow, if the guy at the ending montage actually had strength to rack the slide, not to mention not limp wristing it, this gun fires perfectly. How do I know this? I own one and it works great, never jammed or had any malfunctions. Another thing, it fired perfectly in the beginning before the review, whats up with the horrible review?

  • I have a PT1911 it's worked well for me. It trouble feeding a full mag of JHP, but I solved that by only putting in 7 rounds of JHP. Also, if you don't hold it properly your hand will actually bumb up on the safety. Also, I've never fired 250 rounds through it. I fire a box at the range. As it is, when I carry it I'm not carrying 250 rounds, that would be 32 mags.

  • you should teach your friend there how to properly handle a pistol...im not arguing that the Taurus 1911 is good or bad but your friend looks like a total dip shit trying to operate it, and who does he have to blame? you

  • Yea no matter how clean and well lubricated the gun is holding it like a little girl will cause you to stove pipe and double feed. Fucking newbies

  • i think you need to take your gun to a gunsmith it has something wrong with the extractor its not the gun taurus makes fine products and im sure if you called them they would fix it im about willing to guess youve tried to drop a round in the camber then drop the slide and bent the extractor!

  • LOL I am sorry but I have no problems with my 1911 PT. Was not the 45 shown in the beginning an PT ? what was the problem there? Also he say even if it's clean it will still jam, well the jamming that was shown in this video was after many rounds put down range already right?.

  • your an Idiot its a great Gun i have NEVER had.any of these problems & i dont know where u buy your amo for for target practice but u can buy 45 cal steel cased at Wall Mart fot $14.97 for 50 rounds I think thats cheep and with Any other makers of amo i still have not had the problems you had i dont know.what u did.nut if yoi still have it and.since you didn' t like it i will buy it from you no problem and guarantee

  • My guess is a combo of wrong spring weight and possibly mag issues as others have said. Also, check to see if there's a buffer on the guide rod, and remove it if there is, as this has caused malfunctions in my 1911's.

  • sounds like you are the only one on youtube who has problems with it

  • Man, if you are dropping your magazines in the dirt like that, its clearly going to jam. Its probably a good idea to take care of it, and it'll take care of you.

  • OMG THATS TERRIBLE!!! Even if you dont have a good grip on a 1911 it shoudent be an exuse for it to jam every round put down range. Taurus is shit

  • @2142Unknown lmao wat r u talking about....taurus isn't shit. on another vid a kimber had this problem. neglect on a gun and dumb tards with firearms isn't a good match

  • My god, that guy had to be told to take his finger off the trigger before starts playing with it......maybe it would of been a better video if he hadn't been told. I think its a mag feed issue. If you leave a mag like that fully loaded it will flex. buy a new mag....

  • You have no idea what you're talking about. Have put over 1000 rounds through my PT1911 without a single jam. Great gun, great price!

  • dude...your buddy is limp wristing the hell out of that gun. No wonder it was malfunctioning so much

  • don't know if anyone has said this yet, cause i dont feel like reading all the comments, but make sure you are loading the magazine properly. IF you dont have the bullet all the way back in the magazine, it catches on the barrel, as it is being fed and does not load properly. That is what happened with my rock island, but i figured it out, and have 0 problems with it now.

  • These Taurus PT1911s always made me think they tried to do to much semi custom stuff at too low a price point.
