INSANE!!!!!!!!! Places in the U.S. I will never live......Hawaii, Cali, Illinois, D.C, NY, NJ, Mass, RI, or CT. I'll basically stay away from the east coast!
Wow! That's funny. I just bought my 4th pistol a year ago & I paid for it, registered for it, was cleared with the ATF & walked out with my weapon within 1 hour of arriving at the store...As you can tell, I don't live in D.C.
Just looked up crime rates in DC....it's pretty pethetic in their attempts to control crime. The best way to push crime out is to empower your citizens, not turn them into cattle! Turn them into sheepdogs, not sheep!
Your treated worse than a sex offender as a gun owner in DC. All of these law abiding people jumping through these hoops, and waiting for months just to get a pistol. Meanwhile criminals can just walk down the street and get a whole bag full of guns in 5 minutes for $20 from the local drug dealer.
ohh those high cap magazines are sooo dangerous.....That's ridiculous Ms. Miller. I waited 72 hours for my pistol, with 15 rounders, found out later, my county outlaws anything over 10, would you look at that....I have 4 15 round mags, and 2 30 round mags for my LAR-15...the mag law isn't really enforced...i say..pack up and GTFO of DC
Dc is messed up. Apparently politicians believe that DC is really not counted as part of the rest of the nation and does not have to adhear its legeslation to the constitution.
@RamoneTalarico No one told her for the same reason that no one told her that a revolver would be easier to purchase and a smarter buy. MSRP on her weapon is over $1000 from Sig. She isn't a war fighter, she doesn't need all that ammo.she was never asked why she needs it & what she requires of the weapon. Personal security is very important to me but I carry what I need to defend myself and others but i'm not going to expend 15 rds @ 1 target. Usually they get fired upon & they run out...
@RamoneTalarico Or they die. Point is that she should have taken a firearms safety class & went 2 a shooting range & tried out several different models as well as consulted an expert (not some guy that makes more money by selling you a more expensive weapon) to see if there is a weapon that she doesn't know about that would better suit her purpose. She's probably going to keep it in her purse & that the first thing that gets ripped from the hands n an attack. Otherwise the pistol is too big.
@RamoneTalarico Using mission specific gear is very important to the proper use of firearms. Why buy a Desert Eagle when a 22 with do? Most people (salesmen included) don't think of use, they only think of profit & pretty. My wife carries a Ruger LCR with 2 moon clips. The pistol rides in a IWB holster & the clips r pocketed. The idea is to fire & move 2 safety where u can reload if needed. The more u shoot, the deadlier the situation is 2 bystanders.
@RamoneTalarico My EDC is a SW BG380 with 2 xtra mags. That's all I need for lethal defense. I teach a very minimalist strategy & I fit the weapon to the place & the person instead of the wallet. I tell my students 2 research their options & think of where they will b carrying. If ur n a high profile place then perhaps a large weapon isn't the way 2 go due to other people's reaction 2 u carrying. If they don't see it then they can get scared & make trouble with the police.
@AARON780281 its interesting , i felt she was talking to the wrong people from the start concerning her purchase. Sooo many people on her Facebook were telling her to get a 1911 and or "that" . They were telling her their opinion. it was like they were programming her to like "what they liked" She is never going to be able to take this weapon from her home And as long as she lives in DC no way is CC an option. I commend the NRA for all its efforts ..but i dont even see NJ changing let alone DC
@RamoneTalarico I agree. Peer pressure plays alot n2 weapons. What's the popular thing, what's the cool thing. No 1 asks these when choosing a cigarette or a lighter. It's become more about form than function. Every1 wants 2 b able 2 say that they use the same gun that the government uses instead of saying they use what works 4 them. Unless ur a daily shooter, a LEO, or a pistol hunter there is no need 2 have a 32oz pistol for defense. Education is key n choosing a weapon & she wasn't.
@RamoneTalarico Don't get me wrong, I applaud her 4 making the decision 2 carry but had she been better informed by an expert, it might not have turned out like this.
@RamoneTalarico Also u should fire the type of weapon & practice carrying & drawing it the way u will b carrying it 4 a short time (at a range) b4 u commit 2 it. In her situation (not being rude) ignorance by both parties has gotten this nice lady n2 a deep situation that she will never get out of. If it isn't comfortable & practical 2 carry everyday then the buyer should rethink their purchase. Ask a professional what he thinks. Don't go n2 this blinded by the Rambo mentality.
@RamoneTalarico Take a look @ Nutnfancy's vids on obligation of carry & philosophy of use. He makes a lot of great points on concealed carry n all of his reviews & it's my personal belief that had this lady been asked & taught about it then she would have been able 2 make a better informed choice that may have saved her some heartache.
THAT IS INSANE!!!!! Even here in Canada we don't have to go through all of that.

Sounds like it is much easier to be a criminal in Washington than a law abiding citizen.
