When you take the measurement, are you supposed to be pumped or cold?? Because pumped is going to add size that isn't usually there. Does anyone know??

you are suppose to measure the bicep at a eccentric stage not during concentric for fitness perspective of the body bodybuilding is known for measuring muscles in its concentric phase

Do it cold.

It doesn't hurt to know what is yor pumped size too, but the cold measurement is the real size of your arm.

Some people monitor their progress by measuring their arms relaxed (not flexed).

This makes a lot of sense because when you're in the club the chicks see your relaxed arms and it is important to have big non-flexed arms.

Unless you are some nutcase who goes around with his arms flexed all the time, of course. :)

Ah right cool, that's one thing that annoys me about when people tell you their measurements or even how much they bench etc. People's egos get in the way of the truth. A lot of guys add a little weight or indeed inchs to their real stats. I bet most guys with 18 inch arms lift like crazy before they take that measurement lol. If you ask them they'd say they didn't.

It's about measuring the size the muscle. Having ur arm relaxed by your side doesn't give you an accurate measurment of the actual size.
