Anyways, this game was truly amazing, and the funny thing is, when you defeat him, he falls into the sewers but doesn't die. He silently suffers until Lucas pulls the last needle under Pokey's tower.

Its supposed to be the horn/saxophone style music that plays when in the presence of or talking to any of the other Magypsies in the game. Hinting to the fact that Yokuba is the 7th, rouge, Magypsy.

Likewise in the Masked Man's case, when he attacks physically during your first fight there is a familiar sound produced that one only hears once somewhere else in the game.

Its these "hints" that piece the plot together subtly.

You know that Yokuba is most likely the seventh magypsy because its very obvious for several reasons.

1. How else could he be on pokey's side and command the pig masks

2. He can use PSI(PK thunder for example)

3. The mouse near Roquila's house said that he had a nya-ha-ha way of laughing(read the translations, its in a lot of his diologe)

4. Roquila's house is full of bananas and even a pair of trumpets on his bed.

I'd say Mother 3 is even more colorful and whimsical than EB in many ways too; a dog as a major character, the musical combos, funny pig-people instead of aliens bent on destruction, etc. And keep in mind how serious and straightforward Mother 1 was compared to 2, and that few things in the video game world are darker than the battle against Giygas in Mother 2.

I can't really say for sure without having actually PLAYED Mother 3, but from the videos I've watched and the things I've read it seems to fit very well in the universe. I don't think it's supposed to be quite as 'happy-go-lucky' as EarthBound as it's supposed to be the end of the series (at least for the forseeable future) and is a lot more about telling its own story full-force than trying to be a Dragon Quest parody or anything anymore.

I've been watching these Mother 3 videos, but there's something about them where I don't get the same fun feeling I got from playing Earthbound. This game just seems too serious for this series. But I do find the irony in calling this game too serious during a battle with a guy with trumpets coming out of his nose and mouth while a robot translates for him and a dog attacks to the beat.
