the majority of houses in that area have either a basement or a storm shelter, but even a crappy wooden door would do a lot to protect you in a smaller storm. As for not being able to breathe, better off asking a physicist or someone who's been through that particular terrifying experience.
how standard is it in tornado alley to have those shelters ........ they seem expensive to make so i know there not mandatory to have but it seems liek one of those well built( i didnt liek that wooden door) could take any tornado but again io question how long could a tornado idle over that i eman i hear things liek pple cant bretah when a tornados over a shelter so when its half mile wide barely moving... u know
