  • Thank`s David Briggs for this song

  • One of the best songs ever written or performed. Sung with emotion and the harmony is absolutely perfect. Unfortunately in the annals of rock music it never got half the praise or credit it deserves.

  • He lost his head

And he gambled his heart away

    ...

Now he has to pay the cost

  • I watch this every Valentines Day. Happy Me Being Single Day! :)

  • Classic coolness .... :

  • today's music just aint got the same soul as that old time rock and roll.

  • @llamachamaboat Ain't that the God damn truth.

  • I dedicate this song to "Ultimate Selector".. The biggest loser I have ever known.

    = : >

  • Seeing them this coming saturday, Can't wait!

  • this is a great song by LRB this is music

  • 18 people are lonesome losers

  • this is my theme song since it came out

  • THIS SONG IS THE SHIT

  • Singer looks like Rick Perry.

  • The Little River Band's music always takes me back to a wonderful time in my life. I was about 20, and in the US Navy. I was stationed in San Diego, California. It was the late 70s, and a terrific time to be young and starting out, after high school.

  • @ftsjr I was a Navy kid in the 70's living in San Diego near Murphy's Canyon. That was a golden time for me too.

  • @MsSuperSchultz I was out there starting in 85 and was in the Navy to. USS Constellation CV-64. Left in 92. I was out your way many times. San Diego is a great city. We use to go down to 6th street and take the trolly down to the border and head into TJ. Be cool shipmate.

  • Ah, yes. This is from when Rick Perry was the lead singer. LOL.

  • 17 people are lonesome loosers

  • that guitar is the man . . . .

  • This song reminds me of riding on the MassPike, passing thru the tolls, and haulin' ass in my 1969 Mustang

  • This is REAL music!

  • Anyone would know it has to be alot of practice of this artist(s) to sound so good as this original tune.

  • Love the harmonising!

  • umm im probly like the only teen listening to this...

  • @ugwytaz YAY!!!

  • @AlternativeAntihero not at all, i am 16 years old, and my dad raised me to classic rock and old school 70s-90s music.

In my school, there are ,sadly, only 10 other people that know the good music, led zepp, jimmy hendrix, this band, eagles, beatles, lyrnyrd skynyrd, etc.

it's kind of sad, but whatever, i don't care, atleast i know what good music is while they listen to their wacka flocka.

  • Awesome Group & Song. I first heard this Song on 9/17/79, one Week after My Girlfriend broke up with Me. It hit home big time, I thought that song was written abour My Social Life, it hit so close to home. I can truly appreciate this.

  • OFNO9N9VAIN[9pn9v98vbnw8bovg LOVE THIS SONG oiadsnvq9wi[vobn[IBNVWP[OBVIN

  • lol at all the comments <3 this song

  • hey guys pls help me where i can buy LRB stuffs?

  • My first favorite song. I was 4 years old!

  • I'm lonesome right now but not really a loser. I have a good job, college degree, new car, and a pretty nice house. I guess that "I'm looking for love in all the wrong places".

  • Hey you Lonesome Losers- hang in there love will find the way

  • ,,I'm almost 80 and still a virgin, when the Hell do you think it might kick in ?

  • @PupuTheClown

If you changed your name from PupuTheClown you might not be a virgin anymore.

  • The core lineup of The Little River Band shown here is LRB at its best. The changes in the lineup over the years have not been able to stand up musically to such excellent songs as this one and "Reminicing." With all due respect "The Other Guy" is a song that does not belong anywhere near this classic.

  • the Eagles of Australian!!!

  • @klunsje1

you are SO right! the music back then was REAL music!

  • I hadn't heard of the Lonesome Loser until I heard this song...

  • what happened to all the good songs like this???all they have is garbage anymore

  • Relationships for men are overrated in popular culture.. really..

  • These days it's considered "blasphemy" to play guitar solos in what is dubbed "pop music". These guys packed a band with three guitars and did the harmonized soloing thing, added with close harmony vocals, and they were just as brilliant live as on their records. I've always liked LRB. Thanks for uploading this. ;-)

  • as Dennis Denuto would write.....FUCKING BRILLIANT

  • lol lc atta ppl this is a great band music was even listenened to in uranium city ,sask. canada look it up on the map and trust me only the greats make it to the top of the northern sask. think i lost my virginity to this song lol

  • My brother would've loved this if he had ever heard it. I wish I could've introduced him to Little River Bands music. Now I'll never get the chance. Sorry guys, I'm tearing up again.

  • I was teasing my son that his music is now called classic rock...without losing a beat he looks at me and says...and yours is called oldies Ma...

  • The "real" Little River Band is the BEST!!!!!!!!

  • I love the looks that they exchange in the beginning :) amazing band and song. We just don't get music like this anymore. What happened to wonderful music like Fleetwood Mac, The Cars, ect.

  • The 18 that dislike this song know NOTHING about good music composition, good harmonies, good delivery. In other words, TALENT. This is a great song, and the 814 likes show that at least some of us still have GOOD TASTE and APPRECIATE REAL TALENT WHEN WE HEAR IT.

  • @eurodishco you said 18 dislikes but 5 months later its still 17 dislikes lol maybe you were thinking there would be an 18th dislike soon lol all joking aside those 17 people dont know good music

  • @tanrat7 Hahaha! But since you wrote your reply, the 18th troll (think of those horrible-looking miniature dolls with the crazy purple or green a la Don King hair), seems to have appeared. Now there are 18 ridiculous dislikes. You are right, they do not know good music!

  • probably cause its not lady gaga or juston beiber!

  • @Starriderrob yes you are probably right!

  • @eurodishco this band is almost as good as air supply...almost

  • good song

  • great music, man this takes me back to growin up in the 70s

  • @lc146391 - you're awesome! Wish more people would share our point of view.

  • Has anyone noticed that these guys all seem to have pretty prounounced lisps....odd..

  • @Thorn132 no only u noticed that

  • @Thorn132 Only a person who has a lisp can recognize a lisp!!! So what are you tring to tell us???

  • I sure do miss them can't find music like this anymore

  • I loved all their songs! I could olisten to them forever!

  • I feel a deep emotion of remorse for that unfortunate lonesome loser... who lost the GAME!

    Yeah... I went there!

  • the lead singer does NOT look like he should be in a band..he looks like a school teacher

  • 16 people are lonesome losers.

  • this is when music was real music

  • its the time when music is really a music

  • I`m white and love this.I`m not being racial so don`t post no stupid shit after this.

Good music is good Music........ Period

  • @roger30424 I'm brown....ditto for the rest of the comment

  • @mgabe71 I'm orange but my dick is black and my balls are blue...Does this make me a Lonesome Looser like yourself?

  • A great song from a time when musicians knew how to make music, music that everyone could enjoy.

  • Ahhh, real singing. Music to my ears.

  • One of my all time favorite bands. Pure talent in every sense of the word! Love these guys!

  • One of the great AUSTRALIAN bands of the 70's.

Down with Beiber, down with Miley Cyrus !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow do they even play lrb on the radio anymore? If not it's a shame. A great song from a time in my life when you are young carefree and the music was great. I was 16 at the time.

They really don' t make em like this anymore

  • did u know justin biber is gay and ugly

  • I loveeeeee this song i don't care if your a different color of people just enjoy it you will loveee it to and tell this to other people

  • I don't care whether your black, white, red or blue...it is good music so just enjoy it!

  • Who cares if you're black? Why must you people always bring race into everything?

  • If your blood runs red you've a chance no matter what race, music reaches across the divide. This song holds many memories and gives me strength to continue

  • I can remember this way back at the age of 13! Life was so good back then. I have such fond memories of that period in life.

  • hahah ryan

  • thumbs up if the other guys sent you here

  • All i can say is i remember these songs and so many others that people haven't heard. All music is good in sum quality somehow .. keep rocking Babeys

  • I think he was refering to the fact that some idiots consider this white boy music. There are some who seem to think music has a color. Good is good and it is good if you like it and it puts feelings into music that you can connect too. Music has crossed color and national boundries since the first caveman heard another with a beat he liked :)

  • first time i heard this was my dads 8 track !!

  • brings back great memories of my childhood! thanks for posting!!!

  • tubecat 72 Sorry! I made a mistake. I meant they were great with their awesome harmony like you said.

  • I can actually relate lol... Rough...

    Great song.

  • This great band came up on my facebook, just had to check this out. I was so into them many years back and the sound amazing still. Keep going guys and come to Canada, you have a great following here also. Perferably Toronto lol

  • This is awesome!! True indeed race has nothing to do with good music I am black and I rock this in the whip people look at me strange!! But I don't care I am the lonesome loser who keeps on trying to turn people on to good music!!

  • Seen these guys around 10 times , they used to tour with the Doobie Brothers back in the late 70's and the 80's . Always rocked the house , the very best

  • I sang this to my 3 year old son recently and asked him if he'd heard about the lonesome loser. He replied with a "no" and then said "where is he?".

  • this should have been my lifes themesong

  • @ohioroscoe ha ha me too

  • first my sorry ass soon to be ex husband has a girlfriend...and never in my wildest dreams would i have believed that my boyfriend would have one behind my back either....MEN SUCK!!!

  • @pusnboots8 ------lmao!

  • I heard this in the store and its been stuck in my head! My mom was 5 when this was made. :)

  • this was one of my favourites 30 years ago...thx for posting it

  • @vleon1012 they probably don't know what real harmonies are.

  • some of the "modern" music seems to have lost it's soul...........lost :let's hope one day it is found and reassimulated back into the tunes we all can love

  • I have had this song all week (it is one of my favorites) in my mind all week. I wish I could sing like this.

  • sit down take a look at yourself; dont you want to be somebody" that 1st verse alone is very inspirational to me:) great; great song!

  • I very much like this song! =)

  • best damn song in the world

  • Justin Bieber should try singing this song sometime, he might lose fans though.

  • @S0lidState, if this happens then his alternative is to move back to Canada

  • great song and even better seeing them do it live.

  • @vleon1012 It's too difficult for the "artists" of today.. its beyond their comprehension haha

  • the Super Seventies!

  • @vleon1012 Because nobody knows how to sing anymore. Appearances sell records. Cute little dances and references to super heroes sell records. Talent can be modestly replicated with technology. I hate mainstream music.

  • @vleon1012 because modern music blows

  • I like the band ! Always will!

  • They are from Australia..Little River is the town they are from:)

  • that is correct. i think most of their commercial success was in the U.S. The U.S. led the world into economic prosperity with the leadership of Regan and Thatcher of England who privatized the utilities by selling shares off. The American journalists want equality for all. this includes energy restrictions on developed nations while allowing 3rd world dictators to prosper and desend the world back into bondage! We will all someday be Lonesome Loser's

  • It was America at it's best, today we are shameless at the bottom prisoners to political pimps sell us out at every turn.

  • @gardee37 I thought the Little River Band was Australian.

  • I'm black and I love this. I'm not being racial so don't post no stupid shit after this. Good music is good whether you are black or white.

  • How do you think The Commodores would sound if they recorded this instead ?,,lol

  • @lc146391 A good song is a good song. Race has nothing to do with it, brother. Rock on.

  • @lc146391 hi, i am glad to hear that you have great taste in music. you are right this is a good band that made some good music

  • @lc146391 ....so why qualify your color or race?? I agree....great music!

  • @lc146391 Totally man. I hate it when my friends say something if I dig some soul. They don't know anything about great tunes. I'm a cowboy from the middle of Nebraska and I dig everything from George Clinton to this to Uncle Bob Marley. I use to love going to school in the mornings on the bus because they had a radio and I didn't at home. That's where I heard this tune first.

  • @lc146391 For what it's worth, and not that it matters: I'm white. And while I'm neither a racist, nor particularly religious, I feel compelled to respond and say: Amen, brother. : )

  • @lc146391 I agree with ya...I'm white & there enough hate in this world already !!!

  • @lc146391 i couldn't agree more! i'm white & i listen to everything too... doesn't matter, as long as it's good! i even own the original 12" vinyl of Rapper's Delight by the Sugarhill Gang! ;D

  • @lc146391 i like that wish every body thought that way

  • @lc146391 AMEN!!!

  • @lc146391 sorry, but why talk about your colour & race- it's not relevant, so don't introduce it- simple

  • @lc146391 Please don't take this the wrong way, or in any way racial; Does it sadden you how different the music is these days coming out of the black community? The 70s were wonderful music-wise across racial lines. So much good music and good vibes music-wise. Where did the anger come from of late?

  • @wrawrer yeh..... i agree.....with lc146..... not racist at all.... the blacks, american negros , jamaicans etc have done some bshiit songs..... disco, reggae.... harry belafonte, the blues! they kick asss... music today may be catchy, but really just the same old computerised rubbish. its a little depressing really. the only real music or bands these days are country... might always sing about their dog dying or missus leaving them....at least its real.

  • @lc146391 <~~ Or Brown

  • @lc146391

    DAMN RIGHT!

  • @lc146391 Music shared for all is what it is all about. I am white at 1st glance, but I like many music styles and dont care what my friends say at all. Music is like a picture, it is worth a thousand words. You go dude!

  • @bassinbill42 -The thing about not caring what your friends think is like saying you don't love them. For to care about what someone thinks is to caring about said person.

  • @lc146391 of course your not being racial,is obvious u like this band, hey I think they may be white,I'll have to take your word...I'm blind

  • @lc146391 Hard owt!!!

  • @lc146391 -Who cares if you're Black? Actually, I prefer Negroid & Caucasoid

  • @saints360row I'm partial to Asianoid myself.

  • @lc146391 That is spoken like a true music lover. I love music or hate it depending on how talented the artist is. you should have seen me at an Earth, Wind and Fire concert in L.A. in the eighties! Great band, talented and what a great power in thier music. You go dude!

  • @lc146391 Amen to that! ;-)

  • @lc146391 Right on brother!

  • Man they are vocalizing!

  • i am 13 years old and i know every verse to all of there songs i herd them when i was 8 and i loved them ever since i hope i get to see them 1 day

  • Great song & video. Little River Band was such a great group of the 80's & some of the very best music came out in the 80's IMHO.

Thanks 4 the upload of this GR8 tune! :-)

  • just fought with my gf this song saved me

  • @vleon1012 Because people think it's cheesy. BUT IT'S NOT! It's very pleasing to the ears! Just like Guitar solo's, nobody plays them anymore because "They're Cheesy"......

  • Glenn Shorrock has an awesome voice and still does even today. I cut my right arm off to have a voice like that.

  • i saw these guys back in 1981 at giants stadium in east rutherford n.j. along with heart & the eagles ALL 3 BANDS WERE AWESOME!thanks for the video,it brings back some great memories!

  • They are opening worlwide next year for VH. Apparently Wolfgang likes them. And what Wolf wants Eddie gives. Chickenfoot rocks. Michael Anthony and Sammy's band. The "other VH"

  • HELL YEAH.

  • There are no original members left in LRB and none from the classic 1976-80 lineup such as the ones you see in this video. Shorrock, Birtles and Goble still tour together but they lost the rights to the LRB name.

  • Had the pleasure of meeting these folks when I booked them for a concert in upstate New York (October 1979)... great guys and great performers, thanks for bringing back some memories.

  • I ♥ this...

  • Still my favorite band ever...

  • @vleon1012 They are out there but the record companies keep them away for whatever reason.

  • Why do people feel the constant need to put down modern music when talking about older music. You must all have short memories, because all these bands, LRB included, had a lot of critics, and there were older folks saying the same thing you are now. There are still a lot of great musicians out there writing great music, you just have to look. Live and let live, but don't live in the past.

  • @eaf7011 The difference is it's not just the old folks putting down today's music. It's a lot of young people who are putting down today's music and rejecting it, but they are not being heard by the music industry or the commercial music industry in North America. Thank God for the internet, they could educate themselves on the many kinds of music that existed and not be deluded into believing what commercial radio and MTV tell them is good music.

  • @eaf7011 we live in the past because things were better in the late 70's if you were a ten year old boy!! How can you compare Hannah Montanna and horrible rap to awesome stuff like this and other 70's soft rock?? Think about it eaf7011!!!!!

  • i wish music nowadays was as good as the 80's

  • @pielover918 I think this was 70's man, but just guessing

  • @TheFrenziedGamer yeah, ur probably right

  • One of my fav groups - such talent. thanks for posting.

  • One of my fav songs that made grouping up

  • Oh my! I do miss the good old days when nothing was pre-recorded or hacked to pieces! Pure talent and awesome harmony!
