  • Wow, stop talking.

  • I have to agree with you. Both of those covers were really bad xD

Especially those guitar "solos". Holy crap, they were atrocious. Honestly, your commentary was the only thing that kept me from stopping the video.

  • What the fuck is Metallica doing with Raven?

  • i actually liked both covers..

  • both versions are cool i thought and great white's cover album of zeppelin is awesome!!

  • dude sweet intro

  • yeh these are sucky, if you dont agree youre deaf lol I cant stand Bif Naked doing Nothing Else Matters yuck even though I think she rocks her cover is blah lol

  • How ironic that the narrator to the video sucks and shouldn't have released this video with his voice on it. lol

Seriously, was this part of the joke to the video?

  • Quite funny and original. Ignore all the neigh-sayers.

  • wtf is up with that gay intro?

  • Have you even heard the original version of Gimme Some Lovin? Not all metal covers are supposed to be masterpieces, so quit acting like they need to be.

  • what the fuck do you mean with"it's raven and some other metal band" 3:18 wtf!!! its fuckin' MetallicA

  • LOL

    Metallica-Fade in black

    Disturbed 100% copied it!

  • Love the crimon glory in the intro. Midnight used to be an awesome singer

  • What was the song used in the beginning?

  • funny...not bad commentary...

  • none of these songs can even begin to suck as bad as purple haze in the first vid

  • At least you admit that they did a decent job on the Zep cover. Who else is up to that challenge? Really?

  • Some other random band

    Lawl good one xD

  • The Raven version was just heinous; and Great White did a polished, overwrought version of a song that sounds best raw.

If you're going to make a cover of a song that's cool even if it wasn't metal, then at least keep the edge that made it rock.

    Good job BakNBlack

  • I liked the Raven one. You are a ball bag.

  • again two great covers!!!! your an annoying bastard!!!!

  • WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    synthesizers...

  • You should include Suicide Silence's cover of Alice in Chains' "Them Bones" in the next one

  • He said he's doing bad metal cover songs. Suicide Silence at its best approaches something resembling something else that at one time aspired to be metal. But it is not, in itself, real metal.

  • Hey BakNBlackie!!!

For the next time....shut up!!!! Go home and XXX

  • isnt it all about opinions and taste? if they thought it sucked that bad they wouldn't have released it. only because you dont like it, doesnt mean others think the same.

that is why your background speaking is really unecessary. let other post their opinions here instead. but you're probably so arrogant that you wont even read this message, or care about it. same here btw.

  • If it's just a matter of opinion, then let him have his.

  • Actually by providing vocal commentary the song falls under the legal Fair Use provision for 'commentary or criticism'. But I'll cheerfully ignore the fact that you just suggested I break the law for now. :)

  • @BakNBlack "this audio track has been removed by EMG" yeah Ive seen it a million times. That was good thinkin on your part.

  • @BakNBlack Dude I think your commentary makes the whole piece.... God knows I would never listen to this crap otherwise!

  • @HellBrYnger The most banal thing you could have ever said.

ALL of music is subjective, essentially; that's not changing.

  • gotta love the synth from turbo lover lol

  • If Terry Reid couldn't pull off a good cover of this song, why should these 2 bands, the first a D list band and the second a C list band think they could. Leave it where it was, back in the 60's, with a 15 year old Steve Winwood on vocal and keyboard and real musicianship that neither of these 2 bands would or will ever come close too!

  • no its raven and the chipmunks @ 3:19

    kidding*

    its the young metallica

  • Great White did a great cover of this song.

And it is on a good album.

  • They sounded decent to me.

  • Comment removed

  • I think i understand why I haven't heard any of these covers.

  • Dude, original sucked, Raven made it better. Also Raven never sounded like KISS. Redo this and compare them to someone else. Your not funny man.

  • why are the solos so "painful" in your opinion?

  • Maybe he has a pickup resonator jammed up his ass...or he's a bass player that likes to show off

  • Fuck give me some lovin give me some drugs!!! Raven and Great White should've been on flight 800

  • waste ofmy life

  • Holy hell,speaking of wankery?

Why did you decide to run your mouth throughout the whole video?

  • @pilotoatomico : Yeah, I thought that too, I suppose it's the same... It rocks.

    Nice vid xD

  • Some 80's bands were actually very good, but most of them were not. For instance, early Motley Crue (Shout at the Devil era) was awesome. It was heavy, and bad ass. The solos were not overdone, and they were great.

Iron Maiden was amazing. Skid Row was awesome, and so was Dio. The 80's were a time of amazing bands, and horribly cheesy metal.

  • Hey BakNBlack, just a question, why don't you run the things you want to say about these bad covers in a dialogue bar underneath the pictures instead of talking through the music?

No offense but your talking distracts from the music, we cannot hear what makes it so bad in the first place.

  • go for a "paint it black" cover theres so many nowadays haha. I love W.A.S.P but theirs wasnt too good, theres even some very extreme bands playing it like Marduk

  • WASP dont even play the right riffs

  • Maybe they were playing a different song?

  • "Hope you've been listening to meeeeee..."

    "Unfortunately..."

    Yay! The series continues!

  • If you make a 3rd volume you have to include Krokus's cover of "School's Out"

  • what about sonata arctica's fade to black cover, god i love the band, but that cover, sounds ugly

and COB's covers like final countdown, the trooper, aces high etc also sounds ugly too lol (the only one cover that i like from cob is the one from the ramones somebody put something in my drink)

  • actually cob didnt cover the final countdown..it was dispatched

  • It was norther.

  • the synthesizer they are using at 2:14 is the exact same effect that judas priest uses for the Turbo Lover song right legendary user?

  • I would think Van Halen would be in the running as well for the most well-known cover band.

  • Why Count raven pic?

  • Not bad...the video that is. I don't get the comparison of the Raven cover to 80's Kiss though. The GW cover sounds more like 80's Kiss except the vocals.

Raven were a pretty cool band until they signed with Atlantic...the true slayer of many 80's metal bands. "Stay Hard" wasn't too bad, but the Pack is Back was baaaddd!

Great White's biggest hit was another cover I always hated. Some of their early original material was better, at least for them.

  • I always liked Face the Day and Stick It, though the latter has a definite Ratt flavour to it. And of course, Rock Me was a great song. That's the difference between Great White and Quiet Riot -- QR couldn't write their way out of a paper bag. The only song they did worth a damn, Metal Health, was really just a reformulation of Def Leppard's earlier Let It Go.

  • that some other band kinda looks like metallica, dont get mad at me unless you KNOW what early metallica looked like

  • It is Metallica. That's the joke. They toured together back when they were both on Megaforce.

  • 'and having synthesizers like THIS: whoaaa' ...FUCKING HILARIOUS D:

  • Funny stuff, too bad you only did it about ONE cover song, getting a bit lazy eh? next time just have a salad;p

Personally though, I really like that Raven version better than the original! Cheesy Kiss formula and all!

  • Love the intro =)

  • 'I' personally think Megadeth's covers have been damn good, doing justice to the originals, and, in some cases actually improving certain songs. Anyway, great video, BakNBlack, and nice choice in title music (with Crimson Glory's epic 'Transcendence')! "Oh, look, it's Raven and some other Metal band.. Wonder whatever happened to them.... I know RAVEN'S still around.." *LOL* Good one, bud! Enjoy the sammich, ;)

  • The only Megadeth cover I'm not that crazy about is Out on the Tiles. Dave & Co. do a surprisingly apt job with the main part, but when it gets to the end and they start slapping together a bunch of random Zep riffs, it really loses it for me. It's got that high school garage band feel, 'here's our medley of some of our favourite songs' and they don't really go together, you dig? They should've ended it with just the fade out. Of course, best ending for a Megadeth cover goes to Paranoid...!

  • Agreed, me boyo, on all counts! Peace.

  • What do you think of Megadeth's version of Anarchy in the U.K.?

  • I think it's a very good cover, and everything a cover should be, a more-or-less musically faithful rendition with a dash (or, in Megadeth's case,a truckload) of the band's character. That and it really rocks. It's one of my favourite covers.

  • I think the Red Hot Chili Peppers version of Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground" was pretty decent

  • Raven and some other metal band))))

  • oh...and LMAO!!!! LENNY WOLF. I wasn't a big fan of Kingdom Come - or Stone Fury for that matter.

  • I much prefer the cover Thunder did. :)

They actually did a really kickass version imo. Cool vid LOL. Great White needs to stick to Led Zeppelin covers. Another awesomely bad cover they did was Substitute. >_>

  • I thought about putting Thunder's in here, but the more I listened to it the more I realised, yeah, it's pretty good. It didn't fit anyway, there wouldn't've been enough time. As for worst cover of The Who, hands-down, bar none, no arguments, the worst *has* to be Gorky Park's version of My Generation. I have nightmares about that cover.

  • no amount of times listening to Moscow Calling could ever make Gorky Park that cool enough to do My Generation.

  • Phew! I'm NOT the only one who has nightmares about that dastardly cover...

  • "Some other metal band... I wonder whatever happened to them."

  • Yay! A new video!

  • Yaaaay
