All this helped soothe the pain until the painkiller could kick in. Oh, and mouthwash. STRONG mouthwash helped quite a bit as well. At least I don't feel like taking pliers and ripping my tooth out.

In an emergency or if you can't get to a dentist or if it's the middle of the night, you can always go to the ER and ask for pain meds and antibiotics, too.
My teeth are in such a bad state at the moment. Thing is, I'm immobile right now, and can't even get off my own bed. But what's worse, I'm so hypersensitive that all oral pain relief doesn't work on me, and pain is 10 times worse for me. I'm not entitled to IV pain relief unless I'm screaming at the top of my lungs (and I always try my best not to), so I've run out of ideas. I'm starting to wish I was dead so that I wouldn't suffer anymore...

Cuz 2months ago i was having BAD toothaches. My dentist gave me fluoride toothpaste but i didnt use it. Instead i brushed with antibacterial soap and it took a while but eventually my toothaches lessened. Now my teeth are starting to ache again. Why? I'm having it quite bad at the moment. Both my lower wisdom teeth are growing the wrong way and have to be extracted, only I have to wait for the hospital to contact me. In the meantime, I can't even go to the normal dentist because I'm hypersensitive, so numbing injections don't work on me (and the pain is 10 times stronger). OK heres my story im 15 and i had a cavity on my 2nd back tooth so... i went to the dentist and he said i need a filling which was a lie..... if u got a horrible cavity like i did u might need rot canal. The cavity was to deep and if u put a filling in it, it cause the worst pain in your life

Soemthing I do that helps is to put two ibuprofen in your mouth, then drink warm water. As the ibuprofen begins to soften and dissolve, if not too painful, slowly crush it up with your teeth over the affected spot. You can swallow whats left. I have gotten instant relief this way.
clove oil is not only a pain killer as stated here, it actually heals the gum or tooth infection or abscess; as does oil of oregano, oil of thyme & grapefruit seed oil. One method is to put 5 to 10 drops of one or all of these oils on a very, very small piece of cotton & place it directly on the swelling, I replace it with a newly saturated cotton every couple of hours & toss the old one out. It brings the swelling down, kills the infection & heals the tooth. It works like a miracle!

fastest way to stop toothache is to put little toothpaste on that tooth with your tongue. It stops the acid attack against that tooth. works for me in a matter of seconds every time. If it's deeper hole make sure paste goes in all the way.

@buggeazy102 I went to the emergency room. They did not send any dentist to see me. I was waiting there for hrs till I was seen by a doc. He did not even see my tooth. Did not want to bother with it, gave me a pain killer and told me he was going to write a prescription for an antibiotic. I was waiting for another hr nobody showed up and I left the emergency room. The painkiller did not do any good. Had to wait and make an appointment to my DDS.

toothpaste, dab some toothpaste on the affected region. My toothache comes and goes, some days (like today) no pain at all.. other days it just hurts and hurts and thats all it does is hurt, its unrelenting and won't quit at nothing. I can't believ Garlic actually works! It'll put Oragel and Anbesol out of business! I went to Wal-Mart and bought 1 clove of garlic 52 cents out the door. for instant pain relief , apply icy water around the tooth. it will temporarely numb the nerve endings. not for long. but it feels great to get rid of the pain.
Oil of Oregano helps too. I use a drop on the infected tooth about 3 times/day, usually after brushing and waterpicking to make sure its as clean as possible. Takes a few days to go away completely then can be used for maintenance once a day.

Clove oil does numb the pain for a bit, but it doesn't last long and it can really burn like a b*tch. You also have to be careful not to sallow any essential oils because they are toxic if taken internally. Olive leaf extract helps me... I've been taking it in capsule form for a while. Helps prevent infection but also seems to help pain oddly enough.
for people with holes or broken teeth and are in pain heres a tip mix a small drop of eugenol thats 100% pure clove oil very strong stuff with zinc oxide powder get from a drug store or ebay mix it till it's a solid paste dont add to much eugenol or it will be to liquidy when it's a pretty thick paste take a little peace and roll it into a ball press it into the hole get it nice a tight wait about 30minutes and it will have hardend into a perfect filling

I know how to get rid of pain: you will need a tooth paste that fights cavities, advil or a pain killer and mouth wash
1. When your tooth hurts, take an advil.
2. brush your teeth very well with the tooth paste.
3. take a mouth wash that kills plaque and other germs for 12hours.
4. Take a shower, When your body responds to pain, it wants to relax to something thats soothing.(use warm water)
This will help for enough time to go to a dentist. (6~10hrs)

Cuz 2months ago i was having BAD toothaches. My dentist gave me fluoride toothpaste but i didnt use it. Instead i brushed with antibacterial soap and it took a while but eventually my toothaches lessened. Now my teeth are starting to ache again. Why? I think its cause I skipped the soap for the fluoride toothpaste in the last few days. hey cant we buy and injected our gums with the numbing stuff dentists use?

ok i dont know about this stuff but i used this stuff called red cross it kills any nerve i swear this stuff works you can get it at any pharmacy or walmart i have a tooth that lost its filling and the nerve was exposed and was sending a shocking pain that felt like it was going through my whole body just a warning it taste horrible thats why i suggest only getting it on the problem area and it wont be so bad ohh and you can get temp filling but it should work with any toothache its 7 bucks

Tabasco works wonders. I SWEAR by it. Just soak a qtip in it and apply to the tooth/gums. Or, if it's really infected/in pain, take a swish of it, hold 30 seconds, then spit out. ;)

I'm having it quite bad at the moment. Both my lower wisdom teeth are growing the wrong way and have to be extracted, only I have to wait for the hospital to contact me. In the meantime, I can't even go to the normal dentist because I'm hypersensitive, so numbing injections don't work on me (and the pain is 10 times stronger). I've just been avoiding foods that are too cold or hot and I've also been holding a hot water bottle to my face (because it sometimes seems to ease the pain). =o[

Also what helped me tonight and has helped before; go to your local pharmacy and buy something called Dentemp. It's a temporary filling material, a kind of clay, that you can fill a cavity with. It hardens and, if placed correctly, stays there for quite a while. But before you fill your cavity, try and make sure that it's cleaned out, otherwise you may get a nasty infection. Use Listerine, as that kills a lot of bacteria as it cleans. Good luck, those of you suffering. Lord, I know your pain.

OK heres my story im 15 and i had a cavity on my 2nd back tooth so... i went to the dentist and he said i need a filling which was a lie..... if u got a horrible cavity like i did u might need rot canal. The cavity was to deep and if u put a filling in it, it cause the worst pain in your life

Soemthing I do that helps is to put two ibuprofen in your mouth, then drink warm water. As the ibuprofen begins to soften and dissolve, if not too painful, slowly crush it up with your teeth over the affected spot. You can swallow whats left. I have gotten instant relief this way.

I got like a open gap, i used to learn more bout it seen the fact in the Netherlands clove is used in our culture for dishes we eat.
So what i did,
Sunflower oil, grinded pepper, and bashed up few cloves. I use a q-tip to get into the cavity.
IT works!! Mind you i got here open nerves so its super sensetive and painfull loool!
Now its bareable (its like someone smashed my left side to pulp)

clove oil is not only a pain killer as stated here, it actually heals the gum or tooth infection or abscess; as does oil of oregano, oil of thyme & grapefruit seed oil. One method is to put 5 to 10 drops of one or all of these oils on a very, very small piece of cotton & place it directly on the swelling, I replace it with a newly saturated cotton every couple of hours & toss the old one out. It brings the swelling down, kills the infection & heals the tooth. It works like a miracle!

fastest way to stop toothache is to put little toothpaste on that tooth with your tongue. It stops the acid attack against that tooth. works for me in a matter of seconds every time. If it's deeper hole make sure paste goes in all the way.

@buggeazy102 I went to the emergency room. They did not send any dentist to see me. I was waiting there for hrs till I was seen by a doc. He did not even see my tooth. Did not want to bother with it, gave me a pain killer and told me he was going to write a prescription for an antibiotic. I was waiting for another hr nobody showed up and I left the emergency room. The painkiller did not do any good. Had to wait and make an appointment to my DDS.

no no no... I am a dental student and the best thing for tooth pain is either ibuprofen or codiene.. and these are just a temporary fix.
if you cannot get a hold of those drink a ton of hard alcohol. This actually kills any bad bacteria in your mouth aswell..
Clove oil works like oragel and what a lot of people do no know. is that it actually kills the nerve of your tooth after prolonged usage. thus resulting in extraction or worse a root canal.
drugs n booze. That is your best bet,..

toothpaste, dab some toothpaste on the affected region. My toothache comes and goes, some days (like today) no pain at all.. other days it just hurts and hurts and thats all it does is hurt, its unrelenting and won't quit at nothing. But i find toothpaste helps, it kinda minimizes the throbbing pain to a more mild discomfort. but its not instant relief or a 100% quick fix. My pain is basically caused by a rotten degenerated tooth.. havent been to dentist in years. But i survive

THE BEST SOLUTION!
Dab some toothpaste over the tooth area and it kinda numbs/soothes it. Within minutes the throbbing pain minimises.. just keep it in there for a while, eventually spit out and reapply more. plus it leaves a nice minty taste to ur mouth unlike other shit like salt water, herbs n other shit

I can't believ Garlic actually works! It'll put Oragel and Anbesol out of business! I went to Wal-Mart and bought 1 clove of garlic 52 cents out the door. I bit into for about a total of 5 minutes, it burns your tongue, you have to use your finger to hold the piece in place and bad breathe but it seems to have CURED my toothache.

hes insane,clove oil don't work and is absolutly disgusting.Its foul and will make you feel sick.Avoid at all costs.Brush the tooth throughly with kingfisher tea tree and aloa vera toothpaste from your healthfood shop and then chomp a garlic.if all else feels reach for the molegrips!!!

for instant pain relief , apply icy water around the tooth. it will temporarely numb the nerve endings. not for long. but it feels great to get rid of the pain.

Oil of Oregano helps too. I use a drop on the infected tooth about 3 times/day, usually after brushing and waterpicking to make sure its as clean as possible. Takes a few days to go away completely then can be used for maintenance once a day.

I tried all the hometic remedies... they all suck, the best remedy is a massive assault on the liver with alcohol. Clove oil does numb the pain for a bit, but it doesn't last long and it can really burn like a b*tch. You also have to be careful not to sallow any essential oils because they are toxic if taken internally. Olive leaf extract helps me... I've been taking it in capsule form for a while. Helps prevent infection but also seems to help pain oddly enough.

for people with holes or broken teeth and are in pain heres a tip mix a small drop of eugenol thats 100% pure clove oil very strong stuff with zinc oxide powder get from a drug store or ebay mix it till it's a solid paste dont add to much eugenol or it will be to liquidy when it's a pretty thick paste take a little peace and roll it into a ball press it into the hole get it nice a tight wait about 30minutes and it will have hardend into a perfect filling
