  • at the start it sounded like toy story xD I Absolutly love Jonathan Coulon and i think he really does deserve to be famous It Pisses me off to know there are people who cant even fucking sing like Lady gaga and yet there are guys like this who are so content on just doing gigs and stuff and that actually deserve to be famous because he produces something lady gaga never will and that is good music :)

  • @Stylishlyshite Coulton*

  • /watch?v=9z6g8CT56pI

  • I think this is my favourite JoCo song... I dunno it's hard.... I really love this one.

  • I have this exact feeling with our new dog... I'm like: Fuck! Why did we get one?! God! But she's so damn cute though...

  • come on just 1 more min for it not be illial to smoke pot while litenin to this

  • JoCo is one of those rare artists who sounds just as good live as he does in the recordings

  • I sing this song to my 3 year old son. He LOVES it.

  • how many times does that woman walk across the camera durring this concert?

  • NINJAS RUIN EVERY THING, but in a good way, :)

  • Ninjas do ruin everything in the nicest way.

  • i love the way a guy says ninjas

  • love this guy! i love how he writes!! :D

  • Toy Story soundish. But very good.

  • His child is a Ninja?

  • WIN

  • I got the tinglies.

  • Wow. wasn't expecting this song. My son is almost 13 and I'm now crying.

  • I played this for my husband :) We're due in July.

  • the guitar in this song reminds me of you got a friend in me from toy story...

  • This song always makes me think of a certin girl.

  • @SPWLoganGrimnar Haha! Same 'ere! x]

  • Just posted this song on my "friend's" wall. He just had a baby yesterday.

  • battle of the clever comic singers bo burnham vs johnathan coulton

  • @Ceaamjeeee Tough call but im gonna have to side with JoCo. Bo has some great stuff but a lot of it is profane.

  • @3incati Have you heard "The First of May"? That's not exactly family-friendly.

  • @LeBubblesSan yeah but have you heard big bad world one, over there, i feel fantastic, or almost anything off of any thing-a-week album? he has so much stuff that isn't profane that it blocks out all the profanity.

  • @Ceaamjeeee Coulton all the way(across the sky)!

  • I wanna sing this to my unconceived children. Code Monkey like marriage.

  • @Capnmax

    Code monkey like fatherhood.

  • @JordanPProductions

Code monkey like burping and doing diapers

    Code monkey very simple man

With big warm fuzzy secret heart

    Code monkey like kids

  • nine people is fans of justin beiber

  • WHO THE FUCK DISLIKES JOCO !?!?!

  • @Ir0nB0x 9 people with no taste.

  • I love this!

  • how are ninjas personal but who ever said ninjas is the man!

  • @ShadowDuffle ninjas killed his family. they MADE it personal.

  • He's hilarious, but he's a really good guitarist!

  • Coulton's great on guitar. Love this guy.

  • You know he's a kick ass dad

  • It's hilarious.

In the tenth song, a guy stood in front of the camera.

Assisting ruining the 4 minutes and 4 seconds of Jonathan Coulton.

  • NINJAS!!!! :D

  • I asked my mom if this was true and she said he got it exactly right. I was offended :)

  • The 9 people that disliked this should go die in a hole. In the nicest way.

  • I totally heard the toy story theme 2

  • i love singing his songs :D

  • "Ninjas!"

    "Ninjas. . .exactly. ."

  • Sounds like the Toy Story theme. Which I freakin' LOVE!

  • Jonathan is truly great, and can make any emotion he wants.

  • Aw, man, I first that Jon was just some nerdy song making machine, but now I can see he's got some real nice songs that are worth more than a passing listen and chuckle. He's really got a flare for these soft songs in addition to his poppy joke songs. Like Jim Croce, James Taylor or Simon and Garfunkel. He's great.

  • Ninjas!

  • man i love joco he inspired me to start to learn guitar i suck now but practice makes perfect

  • @MrVeelon Trust me you'll pick it up quickly

  • i've heard him on this (no studio voice revising)

and on CD's (studio voice editing)

    he sounds WAY better live

  • @Eriochi I saw him in 08' at the Great american music hall in SanFran! IT WAS THE BEST SHOW I'VE EVER GONE TO!

  • @Eriochi cause he got a lot of carisma lol

  • @Eriochi He sounds GREAT both ways

  • @mercury199runner no arguments from me. he sounds great. just better live.

  • @Eriochi He doesn't edit his voice, you rump

  • @Evilhamster95 even if it's not the voice in particular. (not saying it is or isn't i cant be sure) they obviously edit his music. almost any song on an album is going to be edited.

  • @Eriochi Sure, you put together different takes but other than that, no.

  • @Eriochi I agree this is better, I don't like the fact that there's drums on the album version, sounds better with just him and his guitar

  • he is so free, he sends out good energy...

i'd love to see him live :3

  • i like its diferent but i like this way i only can say continue your way

  • Ninjas .. awesome (:

  • @IfEveryOneCared15

The guy who shouted ninjas said it with such hope lol

  • @rockharddieyoung Yeah, hes like.. finaly! Ninjas!

  • I like how everyone likened it to the funky toy story theme because that is SO true

  • HOLY C**P he's good

  • reminds me of toy story

  • Jonathan Coulton is masterful. Dude needs a label or something :D

  • OH GOD PLEASE NO!!!!

    NO LABELS FOR HIM!

  • yeah, no.

  • That riff has a sort of Toy Story vibe to it. Very funky.

  • This is just beautiful.... He'd be a really great person to know personally.

  • thats exactly what i thought when i heard it forst the first time, Toy story, that first chord brings back memories

  • That is the coolest guitar riff ever.

  • Stupid baby??

  • He said it was a stupid baby

  • I SAID GOOD DAY!

  • You fail at the whole 'constructive criticism' thing

  • youtube is not really about the constructive criticism, that's mainly because the original artist almost never gets to read the comments posted

  • It is if the artist made the vid and posted it to his own channel then yes he would be able to read the comments.

  • if you're talking about some local bands or something, that might be true

but the big popular bands got people managing their channels for them.

and this channel for instance is from some diehard JoCo fan posting a show because he got permission for it

and i doubt he'll bother reading this

  • very true but you see my point

  • this song reminds me of just how much of a genious joco really is

  • omg i completely agree this reminds me of toy story.

  • TOTALLY! :O..im not weird, yays :D

  • is ti just me or does the guitar in this song sound like something out of toy story

  • I love his voice and I would encourage everyone to actually buy the songs. Love this one esp as I relate due to my sons- but then again, I also love Re: Your Brains, one would hope not for the same reason.

  • Why do people put where their from and say their opinion? Do they expect someone to come their house and say "Thank you so much for voicing your opinion and thanks for making it possible for us to find your a true hero!"?

That being said... I wish I could meet Jonathan Coulton!! He rocks!!

  • It helps to find like-minded people in your region. For example, the post just below, How would you expect to find a Coulton lover in Hungary if they don't speak up?

  • I am from Hungary, and he rocks.

  • "Ninjas?" "Yes ninjas".. Lol!

  • i totally love this guy! his music forever

  • Ninjas!

  • Wow it really does sound like Toy Story :D

  • he IS world wide, well, not as famous as he should be, but i'm from austria and do know him :)

  • this guy jonothan coulton has a very gifted voice and is a talented guitarist i think he should be way way more popular he is my favorite band next to autonomy witch is only big in the twin cities min.

  • 0:14

    yay for audiences

  • This guy is a very gifted one. He deserves more popularity. Like worldwide. Like the Beatles. He reminds me of them somehow. With the overall impression.

  • the guitar to this song sounds like toy story xD

    jonatjon coulton is awsome!!

  • I know, thats part of the reason why I like this song, also, its a more serious song, and its good to hear he can do serious ones.

Of course, I like most of his songs, so meh :P

  • i wrote a song about ninjas killing turtles :D

  • Did he even write a song about ninjas yet??

  • not yet but probly soon lol

  • This is a favorite of mine. Especially the version he does acoustically just by himself. Go look it up, its some where on Youtube.

  • er this entire set is acoustic by himself :S

  • I was hoping for ninjas... but that was great too!

  • "And now I had this stupid baby!"

  • "NINJAS!"

  • i cant stop listing to jonathan no matter what he does. this song is the new addiction.

  • is he a daddy?

  • yes he is. Father of two kids. i think both are girls.

  • well the song is about becoming a parent and he says its a wonderful thing to experience but the song is about the moment you realise that now you cant do everything you gotta do cause now you gotta take care of this child. He has no regrets of having children what so ever...which is why he had a second one.

  • Well, like he said, they ruin everything, but in a wonderful way.

  • an great song

  • -sigh- Yea... this song can actually be really depressing to me

  • lol

sometimes i don't write songs about robots or monkeys or zombies, and instead about something personal... NINJAS! yes. ninjas exactly.

  • Ha! Exactly! Brilliant.

  • the guitar does kinda sound like toy story lmao

  • Ninjas :D

  • The Guitar part sounds like the song in toy story lol

  • he's also pretty funny xD

  • I love the guitar part in this song!

  • brilliance

  • Beautiful song; thanks for posting it, Gle3nn (and thanks, Jonathan, for creating it). I thought the birth of my first kid was like an arranged marriage--this person I hadn't met yesterday was now a part of my family--but a marriage I warmed up to pretty quickly.

  • Good on ya, man.

  • its funny that if your a son like i am or a daughter i dont think we could possibly ever understand how much our parents care about us i mean they changed there entire lives and put every day of work every day of caring and i asked my mom and she said "when your a father youll understand how easy it is to go to work and do what you do when u see your child"

  • who cares if he sounds like whoever? his music and lyrics are great. he's like Oasis except he doesn't completely suck.

  • nice voice

  • I really don't know

but the song/music sounds familliar (?)

think i have heard it before O.o

  • You've Got a Friend in Me?

  • yeah, kinda has a little similar guitar riff to You've got a friend in me.

  • He wrote still Alive and Code Monkey (the theme song for Code monkeys) That's how I heard of him : /

  • Same here, those songs were awesome.

  • yeah me too code monkey is a classic song

  • it remind me of a randy newman song.idk why

  • I see what you mean kinda..

  • I think its the guitar, it sounds almsot identical to the Toy Story song he wrote

  • >>xXDat1GuyXx

He wrote a Toy Story song?

    Sorry for my ignorance.

  • No (at least, not so far as I know). Spartaville was commenting that the guitar part in this song sounds like "You've got a friend in me" from Toy Story.

  • wasn't this featured on a movie soundtrack recently? does anyone know? Help plz?

  • the guitar sounds like country, but the song sounds like blues

  • I'm not a parent. But I am a daughter.

This song nearly made me cry. It's so cute.

  • I worship this guy =D

  • how is this spam?

  • What a Great Song....

  • NIIINJAS!!! (Urealms reference soryy)

  • Well, it's one of the two cool things he hasn't written a song about (the other being vikings)

  • Well theres Ikea.

  • what about pirates. or dragons

  • write a song about fish cakes!

  • yah

  • ...uhh no. That'd b stupid. x(

  • or giant self-loathing squids...

  • clever

  • Being a father myself, I know what he means about that panic! Its such a moving song though

  • id love to be a guitar ninja like Jonny

  • I love it. I know exactly the feeling. Spent a year wondering what my boyfriend was doing telling his first love he still loved her and was not over her, though he prentends to be (apparently) This kinda helped me make me sense of it....kinda.

  • did i miss something?

a song about having a baby reminds you of your boyfriend?

  • Why is it a song about a baby? Without the introduction, it's just a song about how someone, who just got their act together, is kinda pissed because the introduction of someon new is "throwing it all away".

I can see the artist's interpretation, but I really just think that the song is about the panic of changing your life for someone else, some one you didn't expect. you didn't expect.

  • It is about the panic of changing your life, WHEN your have a child.

Therfore your both correct, have a sticker.

  • if you're reading this red, congrats mate!

and good luck with the lilun! :)

  • very nice

  • baby ninjas!
