@MsHypatia1 Cheer up. I know why huge age differences should matter in relationships. I just think that in this case, it doesn't matter at all. First of all, they're both consenting adults. Secondly, they both have amazing talent and thirdly, as far as we, as fans and voyeurs, can tell, they're both very much in love. Ask either of them if the age difference bothers them. Go on.

@MsHypatia1 When you are younger, this is certainly true. Dating someone 25 years older than you when you are 18 is not usually advisable, due mostly to the naivete of the 18 year old. However, as you grow and learn and mature, age differences begin to matter less and less at a rather rapid pace. The typical formula used to determine the youngest a person can date without it being creepy is age divided by 2 plus 7--so in this case, 50 divided by 2 is 25, plus seven is 32.

@koriina Unfortunately, that formula breaks down along gender lines. A 38-year old woman dating a 21-year old college guy is 'desperate' or some creepy 'Mrs. Robinson', whereas a 38-year old man dating a 21-year old girl makes him 'studly' and admired. It shouldn't be this way -- at all -- but sadly, it is. :-/
