@markandharley I'm currently reading On the Edge, a book about the history of Commodore, and as it seems, the reason for both the rise and fall of Commodore is Jack Tramiel. He was right about some things, like targeting the masses and vertical integration (e.g. MOS Technology's semiconductor fabrication) but in the end, his unpredictability and ruthlessness scared away some brilliant people from the company and alienated potential business partners.
Damn, if i had enought money i bring commodore back. i dont understand why everytime the new owner want to produce pc's. a c64 as gameboy would be a funny thing. And Amiga fans are too there, but they need a new computer or a way to use it, like AROS.
Great watch! I think the reason I'm still programming on my Amiga today is because it's inspiring and much more fun to program the actual computer, rather than the sterile feeling of programming layer on top of layer of software in Windows. I wish the documentation of the AmigaOS was a bit fuller and more available like the MSDN has always been. Most AmigaOS resources today are scarce HTML documents converted from Amiga Guide format, and they're a pain browsing through to find what you need.
Hey, that's kind of funny... a friend of mine is a member of the Mars Society, a grassroots group of scientists and enthusiasts working on practical experiments related to Mars exploration and colonization. I may be working on a video project for them soon.
@hazydave: commodore usa and c64x is a scam how dare you recommend it. 2008 refurbished machines of the Cybernet ZPC-GX31 and he didn't even change the casing of the "vic-pro" !
hazydave: you just don't understand, do you. commodore engineers used to mean something.
@markandharley Oh shi-! I just realized I replied to a 4 year old comment!

Great video! Is there a higher resolution available? I'd love to take a closer look at the Commodore LCD :-)

"Rare to actually see a corp American company under good management."
