Elvis- Amazing!!. Johnathan Rhys Meyers- Amazing!!. Loved him playin Elvis, the king of rock an roll!! .. Meyers an sing in real life just watch Austus Rush!
elvis' hair wasnt that dark at that stage in his career. he was actually almost blonde. fairly light. one thing that all these elvis movies always error on. but cool though
Well atleast they used the real Elvis recordings. I dont like it when people do elvis no matter how good they are... I think its cheesy! But I do think he looked more like Elvis then the ones Ive seen. And Ive seen thousands! Although his hair line wasnt like elvis'. I think they are sad.
@TheMursumania I have reported your racist cruel message. The whole world does not have to "speak English." And cursing is not necessary under any circumanstances.
Let me ask you something. I'm watching this movie atm on tv. It's almost ended, BUT! He was sitting with that man in the studio. The man made the studio for black people so people will listen to the music ,etc. He's there for the second tie then, and already a bit screwed up. Then the man says something like : ''You can't compromise what your heart knows. No sir''. is that right? or did he said something with feelings in it too? I really wanna know. It might be a tattoo ..

muy buena la pelicula...pero para mi el papel de randy quaid interpretando a el coronel parker es espectacular...muy muy bueno!se roba la pelicula...el jonathan esta muy bien tb
@Arroyo2099 no shit, that's why sam phillips asks him why he's been holding out on him... meaning a white man that knows about and sings black music. also mentions the man that wrote and originally recorded it, arthur crudup.
@Arroyo2099 Did anyone say he "created" it? What Elvis did was sing an entirely different arrangement which took a solid blues song and turned it into what became rock-a-billy.
@rockabillycat1954 The storytelling may be the most "accurate" to date, but the casting was atrocious (with the exception of the casting of Gladys, the Colonel and maybe Ann Margret).
@KingCreole74 I agree that it would have been a better movie if there had been different actors playing some of the parts... but it's not a big budget hollywood movie, it was a made for tv miniseries. Maybe someday we will have a legitimate biopic of elvis, instead of a string of inaccurate cheaply made tv movies. Walk The Line wasn't perfect either, but for a biopic, it's very well done. It should not be surprising that the elvis movie has fallen short, and all attempts probably will.
I'm a fan of JRM, and I was a little excited when I saw he'd been cast as Elvis. I thought, OK, he's got a good look, etc. I could not get through the first half hour of this horrible horrible movie in which JRM lipsyncs clumsily through Elvis' studio recordings or sounds like a dog licking his balls as he tries using his own voice. boo for this movie. I wanted to kill myself thinking about all that wasted money to produce this clunker of tv mini-series.
I admit that meyers good in other roles but this one seemed like it was too much for him to handle. Its hard enough to fake a southern draw, but also to act and dance like elvis....i dunno he came more as an elvis impersonator impersonating elvis if that makes any sense
OFC johnathan has the voice of elvis when he sings because for the movie cant you tell hes lipsinging they take the origonals and play 4 him 2 mime so it looks like hes relli elvis
thanks for posting, really enjoyed this clip even though i agree with you about J R Meyers, I did read that he said he thought Elvis was gay lol!!!!! Maybe a bit green eyed monster there or his small bit of fame going to his head
@actor123456789 it is harbor lights, but it was recorded the same day as that's all right... july 5th, 1954. philips sold elvis' contract to rca in december of 1955, so by 56 elvis was recording exclusively for rca and except for the posthumously released "million dollar quartet" session he never recorded with sun records again.
