Ehh, my comment disappeared :| But yeah, I'm about to paint a few pretty simple latexmasks (just using my fingers, nothing fancy) but I don't know how to.. I mean, the paint and the white gooey latex has to be mixed, but how? I had some old latex but it had dried up, so I couldn't do it now. And what kind of paint will do? I have some basic "humbrol enamel" paints. Or will it hurt the latex? Please, I've been trying to figure out how to paint em for AGES.
hello there im an art teacher and think im gunna atempt to get the kids to make one of these, (14-15 year olds) any sugestions where i buy the equipment from? like latex? and if anyones got an images, or useful websites etc that they woudnt mind sharing, that would be really really useful! thanks, indsey
wow i really wanna make a michael myers mask but im only 14 :( and a need a cheap one but good quality, i know that these are hand made and not mass produced, but my dad says paying hundreds of dollars for a mask is ridiculous
Actually the cost of raw materials to make the mask is about $50.00-$70.00. You'll need clay though to create you sculpture. 14 is just the right age to learn.
Its FW acrylic Ink...its not paint but ink. It binds with and the latex absorbs it....think of taking a sharpie marker to a mask...but thru an airbrush with different colours. No more gummued up airbrushes. It wont crack on the mask because its not paint.
Just wondered if you've ever painted with FW acrylic inks? They go on thin, never clog an airbrush, and can be layered on in small amounts to get a realistic skin pigment.
Many thanks for your recommendation. The concern with acrylic paint is though they look great -- flexing the latex mask over time cracks it. Thus, latex paint has been the only successful media - though a bit difficult to apply via air brush -- to apply on a latex surface.
not much help really...a lot of talk and little info.

Just wondering if you had a chance to run some FW acrylic ink onto a mask?
